I absolutely loved Santino's "CAN WE KEEP HER?"

How in the hell did Punk keep moving after that sick fall on his head? The ending for that match was fantastic, too! The crowd just ate it up. Regal elbowing the living hell out of Punk's face and still taking the GTS. Just....sweet.

I dug Goldust/Cody. I really have to get the dvd.

For a moment there, I thought Steph was going to take a Codebreaker, but insted, they comletely ripped Jericho apart. Where the hell does he go from here? Steph is going to hold that over his head now, especially since her Dad just got punted?

Speaking of said punt, Vince is a trooper. If they do this thing where Vince comes back once every six months and someone lays him out, I can live with that.

Orton's acting job after the punt was the best he's ever done, too. I really can't wait to see where they're going with this, too.

Oh, and I would give anything for them to change his name to "Vintage" Mike Knox and see what Cole does when calling all the other matches.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the mini-Rumble thing, but at least it got Legacy over as a group. Is Kane a face now? And is the Kane/KK/Orton thing over.

I have no problem with KK getting squashed, as Beth needs to look good going into the Rumble.

I'm sort of digging Stephs character right now. She's still a powerful bitch, but not in an overly heelish way. I like how she stands up to the heels on the show, but usually only because they're being a pain in the ass.

LOVED the IC title match. Sure, it could have gone a little longer, but there was so much to like. Stiff, physical match. I love that they played up the no-DQ rules with both men basically telling the ref to piss off, but also that it didn't turn into a glorified hardcore match. How Punk didn't hurt his neck on that suplex is beyond me. It was cool that they stayed with the celebration a while. If Punk ever turns heel, he has the ability to brag about being Mr. Money in the Bank, World Champ, IC Champ and Tag Champ in one calendar year.

All three men were great in the contract signing. I can't believe I'm excited to see a JBL/Cena match. Couple of weeks ago I groaned at the thought.

Who the hell is Kevin Grevioux?

Ugh, the Know/Mysterio feud must continue. I did like Knox being sort of soft-spoken in his comments. The place should pop huge when Bourne finally returns to save Rey from a beatdown.

Wow, Cryme Tyme is NOT over in Chicago. Will this be a M&M feud that lasts more than 2 weeks? Tune in to find out!

Great back and forth between Cody and Goldust. Liked Cody's explanation.

That chickenwing facebuster on Melina was SICK.

Loved that whole last segment. Wonder how Jericho "gets his heat back"? I was worried we'd get an oversaturation of Vince, but that's a good way to make him go away again AND get over the Legacy at the same time. I think Orton and Shane will be in cahoots on this. Way to take the Punt Vince.

- I paid the most attention to this Raw as any in a long time. I credit my new high-def TV.

- Regal/Punk was really good. I loved that they showed the celebration FOREVER. Made it seem important. You could tell Punk was winning as soon as he came out. Dude looked real happy.

- I love that Vince comes back every six months to get killed again. I know wrestling is fake but I have no idea how they work the Orton headkick. That looked sick.

- The M&M/Cryme Tyme match was too short, and it didn't help that the commentary killed the angle. JTG took a nasty-looking fall right on his elbow and immediately went to it. I thought it was possible he hurt it for real. But no, he was playing possum in order to trip up Morrison - something neither of the announcers mentioned.

- I want Beth vs. Santino at Wrestlemania.

- JBL and Shawn and Cena were all GREAT. I cannot believe how much hard work is going into such a dumb angle. And it won't stop being dumb and yet it won't stop being... awesome?

- Mike Knox has nothing against Rey. I bet the internet hated that, but I loved it. He doesn't know why he does what he does. Never stops to consider it. That rules.

- That opening battle royal was okay. They got the point across. Makes me think Orton won't win, though. I fear Orton vs. Vince at WM as Orton tries to kill the biggest legend of all.

- I enjoyed the Cody/Goldust interaction. In a subtle touch, Cody brought up the Austin/Dustin 2/3 falls match on the Starrcade DVD - and he didn't say what Goldust would have known; Dustin lost in two straight falls.

- Went for coffee with guys from work today. Football talk turned to concussion talk turned to some guy mentioning the Fifth Estate episode about concussions. I asked if that was the one about Chris Benoit. It was. Another guy who was there with us went full-on into the wrestling talk. This was the same guy who claimed to be a former fan but recognized all of my action figures. He also "just happened" to catch the end of Raw last night - by which he meant the final 90 minutes. It was pretty funny. He was trying to tell everyone about the Orton headkick and you could see everyone else rolling their eyes. I wanted to jump to his defense - the headkick DOES look awesome - but opted to preserve my own reputation instead.

Great line from Morrison that was only topped by this exchange-

Miz: "I'm Republican."

One member of Cryme Tyme (they all look alike to me) called Miz and Morrison "silly white boys" and from lip reading, it looked like Morrison said "who are you calling white boys?" I laughed. These guys need to have a political debate next week.

I think we still deserve an explanation as to who destroyed the stage under Vince six months ago...but now that he's out again with an Orton Punt, we aren't getting one anytime soon...

You know, when Orton and Stephanie had their backstage argument, the first thing that popped into my mind was: "She's Legacy too. She's 3rd generation."

I'm not saying this makes an abundant amount of logical sense or even that this is the direction they're going, but what the hell, I'm calling it:

CAHOOTS!

Stephanie and Orton are in cahoots! If I may put on my Oliver Stone conspiracy hat:

Why was Mr. McMahon kicked in the head?
Who benefited?
Who has the power to cover it up?

Answer: Stephanie McMahon. With Vince gone, Stephanie is in complete control over RAW. Even running the show in tandem reduces her power.

Furthermore, it's not out of the question to finger Stephanie (er, poor choice of words) for the stage accident six months ago. She claims Mike Adamle was "Shane's idea" but he was always a puppet taking marching orders from the younger McMahons.

There you have it. Cahoots. Cahoots!

Do they mean 598 different men, 'cause that seems like a lot, even with 20 years of Royal Rumbles-- even with Mick Foley's three personas.......

I presume that there have been twenty Royal Rumble matches in the past. 30 people in 20 Rumbles works out to 600 competitors. But Mick Foley entering the Rumble three times in the same year lops two appearances off, giving us the number 598.

Is there any other case where a person has entered the same Rumble multiple times?

Closest number is number of (non-unique) participants, which should be 620 (20 in 1988 + twenty years of 30). So maybe they take out however many never made it into the ring? But I can't come up with 22 non-participants.

There's a spreadsheet over at prowrestlinghistory.com with all of the participants, years, numbers and times - if I grab that and `uniq` the name field, I get 289. Now I'm not going to bother to figure out how many of THOSE names refer to the same people, and how many might be Jason's typos, but maybe *you're* bored enough to do it...and bandwidth is unlimited around here...so here's THAT list:

Maybe they forgot the first year, or maybe they're only counting the actual Pay Per View event's matches? The very first Royal Rumble wasn't on PPV, after all.

That's my guess. They could be counting that, subtracting Chyna (she was listed under 1 woman) and subtracting Randy Savage when he never made it to ringside after costing the Ultimate Warrior his belt to Sgt. Slaughter. Were there others who never even came out of the curtain?

Or, this could be it. There've been 22 winners over 21 Rumbles (Hart and Luger shared a title once).

If jericho does NOT win the rumble, than the dress down was all for nothing and Jericho will be finished as a ME. I can not BELEIVE once again, jericho was made to look like a tool with Steph doing the dirty work. If he loses the Rumble, he should leave the WWE and retire for good. His dress down last night made me sick while Orton, a clearly inferior talent, is amde to look strong. Sad.

I didn't think it was that bad....any time Jericho has shown ass, even in his feud with HBK, he came back stronger with his own interpretation of what when on and his own spin. I have no reason to think it won't happen again. Plus, it wasn't like he was sobbing and apologizing...he clearly didn't mean what he said.

Come on now. This was the most successful year of his career, and he has more political pull than ever before. He had to kowtow to McMahons Are Awesome stuff but so does everybody except Orton (which is what made what Randy did such a big deal).

Chris Jericho is my favorite wrestler and I'm thrilled with how well the year went for him, especially after how his comeback first started out (IC champ and Money in the Banker is not progress -- I'm betting he'll have a significantly bigger role at this WM). The only thing I'd want to change is his switching the belt with Batista, but even then he got to look great in stealing it right back. (Maybe hold off the drop to Cena until December too just to give him three months.)

Orton's inferiority to Jericho is not as clear as it used to be. Guy has become superb.

I will ease up a little on the retirement as I am clearly frustrated by last night and can only think back to his previous titel "run" where he was second, nay third, fiddle to HHH and Steph (and a dog) and was made to look so weak that no one could take his title run seriously. Now, he is WAY TOO QUICK to apologize and eat crow. he should have started to walk out of the ring and then turn an apologize.

As for Orton's inferiority, it is not as big as it used to be, which was as big as the grand canyon, but it is still pretty big. Jericho is light years better than Orton on the mic, backstage promos (live and taped) and is tons better int he ring. I hate Orton but do realizze he has gotten better. But he is clearly third class to jericho's first class. Clearly.

I dispute this. As far as promos go, I seem to be one of the few that doesn't really care for the "new" Jericho. Randy Orton is completely believable as an evil prick. Chris Jericho is a guy playing dress-up and pretending to be an evil prick. I'd suggest that it's because I believe Jericho to be a laid-back fun guy in real life, but I believe Edge to be a laid-back fun guy in real life too, and he's also completely believable as an evil prick.

I will also say that Orton is one of my favourite guys to watch right now - everything about the way he carries himself makes himself stand out. He walks differently, moves differently, his facial expressions are different. Which is not to say that Jericho isn't great in the ring - he is. But at the moment, I'd rather see Orton wrestle.
