The one thing about the Rock/HHH comment is the fact that they're both babyfaces. Granted, their feud was a memorable one, but they're still both faces.

Way to fucking go Austin. The old Bishoff rehash of the owner being someones bitch was stupid anyway. But whenever there is a gap to fill just piss on Flair. Yeah put Vince over. Blame Ric for the ratings. Move Paul to Smackdown right when Raw was getting good. Piss and vomit. Hmm... why is Ed booking NWA but Russo isn't? Cause he has been secretly rehired. Attitude baby. I really hope that is the reason because I don't know how that they can flush this much talent. Hell, no one is motivated. That Taker promo was the worst shit I have heard since the Corprate Misery days. Even Eddie and RVD sucked. Oh but give Big Daddy Bitch and Brokenback Kid a blank check. I don't care how corny it sounds. I said before that NWO poison was more real then Vince thought. Do the math. I know this is a complete rant. Had to do it. Pretend you are on Delphi and just skip it.

From the Torch:

Although Vince McMahon "won back" Raw from Ric Flair last night, as previously reported, it is not because the rosters are going to be recombined.

In fact, the word going around backstage last night was that Ric Flair was being written out of the ownership storyline in order to introduce a new person to feud with McMahon over ownership of one of the shows. One name that logically has come up is Eric Bischoff.

With ratings and attendance down, Bischoff is one of the big names from recent years available to be signed who might inject some energy and create a buzz that would result in a bump up in ratings. For Bischoff to have the most impact, the most logical wrestler for him to bring with him would be… Goldberg. It's just backstage speculation at this point, but with ratings down, everyone is expecting major efforts to be made by McMahon at creating a new buzz.

Also from the torch:

Some of Vince McMahon's vitriol during his opening speech on Raw with Ric Flair regarding Steve Austin may have been born out of legitimate frustration. Or it may all be part of a major set-up for a big upcoming angle.

Austin, upset with the creative direction of WWE, apparently walked out on the promotion again on Monday, flying home before Raw began. He was scheduled to face Brock Lesnar on Raw. Although the specifics aren't known yet, he is said to have been unhappy with certain aspects of what WWE had planned for him, either on today's show, in coming weeks, or both.

The Austin storyline was apparently scripted to occupy about 25 percent of Raw, so the show had to undergo major rewrites. McMahon, last week on the WWE website Byte This show, said Raw was going to be a huge show this week. Had Austin vs. Lesnar been added to the Shawn Michaels promo and the McMahon-Flair angle and match, it would have been one of the more eventful Raws in a while. As it turned out, Austin's absence took away from the newsworthiness of the show.

PWTorch.com correspondent Steve Schlesinger of Rome, Ga. reports that the announcement that Austin wouldn't be at the show took the wind out of the sails of the crowd. "Whatever energy the live crowd had appeared to disappear," he says. "It never really changed throughout the evening."

Austin was talked about on Raw as if he WWE is assuming he will be back soon. Austin had walked out of WWE right after WrestleMania. Two weeks ago on Byte This, he bluntly said he thinks the WWE booking has been "piss poor" lately.

It's also at least worth mentioning the possibility that Austin "walking out" yesterday is part of a "shoot style" storyline playing off of his real-life unrest with WWE's recent creative direction, and that Austin will be showing up perhaps with Eric Bischoff as part of a new faction trying to wrest control of WWE away from Vince McMahon. Such a circumstance would fit with the seemingly sudden decision to write Ric Flair out of the ownership role on Raw.

Bischoff has had off-and-on talks over the past year with WWE, namely Jim Ross, about being brought in as a an on-air talent. With McMahon alligning with Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar on Raw last night, it does set up a potential feud with Bischoff aligning himself with either Austin or Goldberg (or Scott Steiner, for that matter) to feud with McMahon, Heyman, and Lesnar.

I hope this is what is really happening, though I doubt that even if it does happen it was what the WWF was planning all along.

Sorry, but i just cant root for the Hardyzzzz or HHH against anybody. That makes Taker my Honerary Face. Also, how Face-like is it to sneak attack a guy 2-on-1 with a ladder, and then run out of the arena as fast as you can? i'll never understand that. god, i hate the hardyz

I hope there's not a job waiting for Austin when he recovers from this little tantrum. Screw him. And screw Vince for putting up with this shit.

What the hell does Austin want?? Did he want to interrupt Michaels' promo and hand out stunners to the entire NWO membership? Maybe the Big Show and Nash could've linked arms while he gave them a double stunner. Then he could have stunnered HBK twice after no-selling a superkick. Hell, he's indestructible, I'm sure they could have booked that. Or maybe they asked him to sell for Brock.

Jeez... it's such a boring product now, due in large part because of his "take on 3 heels at a time and win clean as a sheet storylines." Fuck him, fuck that "What?" pandora's box that he opened, and fuck his disgustingly silicone-enhanced wife. Maybe this will force them to shake stuff up, at least.

Sorry guys, but good for Austin.

Mick Foley walks out because of bad angles, Austin walks out because of bad angles. Both of them were rather vocal about the quality of the "product" (and its not like most of you haven't been complaining as well).

And I am sure that this has nothing to do with the return of Shawn Michaels.

I have walked out on many a job when I was being treated like shit (and will again, if need be). So good for Austin.

Oh and one more thing:

I have walked out on jobs before when my bosses were being jackasses - and I'd do it again in a heartbeat (and I sure as hell don't make the coin that Austin does).

When Mick Foley left the WWF because of its direction, the entire promotion didn't have to be altered and he at least showed up to be written off TV.

Also, just because you walked away from your past jobs doesn't validate Austin's actions. Unless of course you quit because you didn't like the creative direction your past employer had in mind for your character.

Steve Austin has every right to try and shake up the "current product". He has apparently tried to voice his problems with the WWF's direction, but can't get any results. Austin has to look out for himself, because no one else will. The storylines have absolutely no direction and they seem to change them every week. Austin's character has been subject to the same lack of focus, that the entire fed suffers from. Vince is no dummy. Austin and the Rock are his main concerns, not HHH and the nWo. I would bet that at least half of the fans watching today don't even know who HBK even is, let alone have watched him compete. The massive growth of the WWF began after WM 13, not before. HBK can't go anymore, he's damaged goods. Also, could his gimmick feel any more dated? Nash can talk, but he's incapable of working a PPV length main event. Big Show has zero heat and X-Pac is a complete joke to the fans. HHH is way to smart to align himself with these stiffs. He knows the money is to be made against the Rock, Austin and Angle, and eventually with Benoit, RVD, Jericho, Eddie and Lesnar. I don't believe that the "Kliq" has any juice long term, Vince just hasn't decided on the future plans, so he caters to Nash just to keep him around. Maybe tonight was the beginning of the end for the hideous brand extention, and if Austin can make Vince realize that the product is near low ebb, great.

Amen. Austin doesn't seem to realize that he's not the crossover special that he was three years ago - that's the specialty of the Rock now. Neither is he the most electrifying character on RAW - there's multiple contestants for that role now, including RVD, Lesnar, and Booker T. There's no compelling reason to have the locker room lay down for him any more. He seems genuinely incensed that WWE won't bend to his whims any longer - and he can't seem to understand why not.

I, for one, vote in favor of making Austin's ban from the WWE ring permanent. If he doesn't like it, he can take his beer, his "What?"s, and his synthetic wife over to NWA-TNA. I'm sure the Jarretts will love dealing with him - and I'm sure Hall will be happy to see him again.

Two things that have nothing to do with Austin...

One, the Rock comment made by Shawn was a cheap shot. Rock isn't here to reply and Triple H isn't even in any kind of storyline with the nWo. Shawn is bitter because the WWF did better without him and The Rock and Austin are far more popular than he ever was. The thing about Shawn is he always mixes whats on his mind with what's going on storyline wise.

Two, The Hardys fucking rocked. I don't know why the net has turned on these guys. Just last year you were screaming about Triple H squashing Jeff. Now look attcha.

I can't believe there are people actually trying to defend Austin on here. He fucking WALKED OUT just before a live show was due to air. There's no justification for that. Shaking up the product? BULLSHIT. I'm sure NOBODY was praising Nash and DDP for "shaking up the product" when they walked out of WCW last year. And don't give me any crap about "he's earnt the right to act like this". When does he lose that right? Has Austin proven he is a significant draw lately? Hell no.

I'm sorry, I just can't believe the basic hypocrisy of some folks on the web and some folks round here. Guys like Nash, Hogan and HHH throw their weight around, they're puttingtheir needs before the good of the company. But as soon as someone like Austin does it, there's a dozen people immediately rushing to verbally blow him for being so brave. Here's something to get through your skull: walking out on a live show is GOOD FOR NOTHING. It does not help shake up the product, it does not make you appear better, it just forces the fed to slap together a haphazardly booked show which feels completely disjointed. So please, stop with the ridiculous Austin-loving BS.

Ah, it was just a small attempt to screw Vince before Vince screwed Austin. And you know if Austin comes back, Vince will screw him for the publicity, if nothing else. I mean, he did it to his most loyal, over worker in the company at the time before.

Austin's a goddamned whiny bitch, and deserves whatever punishment he gets. Austin needs something like a job to Funaki to make him realise he's not the star he once was, and still thinks he is. It doesn't matter if he's unhappy with the current product. Offer improvments, push for what you want, get other people to rally behind you, but *don't* fucking take your ball home and refuse to play with others when you don't get your way. That's only hurting his own cause. Austin needs to remember that he needs the WWF a lot more than the WWF needs him.

There's another side to consider to all this alleged "walking out" business, if indeed it is legit and not some sort of angle.

I'd be willing to bet solid cash that Steve Austin doesn't get paid the same amount no matter how business is doing. That's one of the things that encouraged the WCW folks to mail it in. Aside from a percentage of merchandise sales (which is a big thing, Austin stuff is still a big item) I'd imagine he gets at least some sort of consideration/bonus the higher the buyrates of PPVs are.

If the WWE tanks, and tanks hard, Austin gets less money. And, since he's just an "independant contractor" (read: glorified TEMP) he can get away with more without much fear of retaliation.

I'm not saying it's right, there are dozens of better ways to accomplish what he MIGHT be trying to do. But, it might at least shed a light on why.

No, he walked out because he's a whiny hypocrite with consideration for those working around him. Sorry, but I don't recall Bret Hart taking these "sabbaticals" during his rough rides with the WWF-he may have been complaining vocally and trying to get things changed, but he never jeapordised the company's business by doing something as stupid and childish as walking out a couple of hours before a live show. Austin is a selfish bastard, and as far as I'm concerned we're better off without him. Isn't it odd how this second little temper tantrum comes just as the product was improving and some fresh talent was being injected into the mix? And not only that, Austin's now managed to single-handedly sabotage the entire split angle. First, he completely wrecks the reason for the split coming about in the first place by refusing to job to Scott Hall at Mania, and now he necessitates hasty rewrites that all but destroy the inter-show boundaries. Attaboy, Austin! Way to show all the other guys in the locker room what a stand-up guy you are!

Ugh, the whole thing just pisses me off. People were worrying about Nash, Hogan et al playing political games backstage, but the only guy who's showed any inkling of real trouble is Mr. Nice Guy himself, the one man who stood against things like that. Congratulations, Steve-O, you've beocme the one thing you always (supposedly) hated. I hope you enjoy keeping others from the top like Ric Flair did to you in the early nineties, because the way things are going it's likely that another couple of your crybaby outbursts could result in the fed finally shutting it's doors for good.

Apologies for the complete disjointedness of that li'l tirade; it's late, and I'm angry (for once).

Um, do you remember Bret Hart? He did something as stupid as childish as refusing to lose a title. Kinda weird these sides in people that Michaels brings out, no?

Isn't it odd how this second little temper tantrum comes just as the product was improving and some fresh talent was being injected into the mix?

The product improving is definitely questionable. If you're talking about ratings wise, then yes, last week's Raw was an improvement, but I don't think World Champ + puking segment = quality, myself. And who's the fresh talent? Brock has been around a couple months now and his most noteworthy accomplishment is drawing Goldberg chants, and he's the only new face on Raw. Sure, Eddy came back, but Austin had to fight just to get a program WITH him to get away from the NWO and towards a decent match or two. And I KNOW you're not even trying to say your little avatar friend over there is fresh talent... not like he's apparently going to bother wrestling, anyway.

People were worrying about Nash, Hogan et al playing political games backstage, but the only guy who's showed any inkling of real trouble is Mr. Nice Guy himself, the one man who stood against things like that.

Hi again. Remember your avatar pic over there? Have a nice long look at him. Remember back when HHH was his stooge? Welcome to the year 2002. Triple H flipped the script. Manservant Shawn, he with forked tongue, snuck in a pithy little completely-out-of-place comment (while most of us were staring at Booker on the ground or at the NWO celebrating) stating that Rock stole the spotlight from Hunter, in One Of The Stupidest Things I've Heard All Year. You wanna talk about backstage politics? Look no further than ye beloved Kliq.

That said, I still don't necessarily agree with Austin's walking out. And THAT said, I'll steal a bit from Chris Rock and apply as best I can to the current situation.

I'm not sayin' Austin shouldda walked out, BUT I UNDERSTAND.
