Steve Austin left the Raw taping in Atlanta earlier today and will not be on tonight's show. From what I have heard, without talking to anyone in management, he booked a ticket home for himself and Debra and left Atlanta today. Originally, he was scheduled to face Brock Lesnar on tonight's show. I am not sure what the finish was supposed to be, but from where I stand, it was too early to do that match no matter whoever they planned to put over. The whole show had to be rewritten and Lesnar will now wrestle Bubba Ray Dudley.
--------------------- Wow. Austin actually walks out. Don't know if this is going to cost Austin his job...probably not.
"Big Daddy Cool, ha, more like BIG DADDY BITCH."
"Oh my gosh...it can't be...Goldberg...is...NEW BLOOD!"
Well, considering the events of tonight's Raw, he REALLY fucked over WWE. Byebye split? All because he didn't wanna wrestle Lesnar, or at least bailed? Jeeeeeeeeesus.
Would it be wrong of me to wish an extended vacation on Austin? I guess pissing on Arn and beating Flair and doing his usual routine was the only way to keep him happy. The minute anything goes against Austin's desire to always be the guy on top every single night I guess he goes home. How ironic that Michaels, the king of the walkout is coming back while Austin goes on another strike?

I am sure Austin is pissed about HBK being back, about vince's plan you use older stars to get younger guys over, and whatever else. Austin has been pulling this crap for how long now? Bitchin' about everything, not wanting to look bad, changing finishes, etc. This is the same crap he said he hated the people in WCW for. I think it is time for an extended vacation for Austin. Walking out under any circumstances is not acceptable at all. I don't care what the reason.

I don't agree with the walking out, either, but that sly little remark from HBK about Rock's jealousy of Hunter kinda gives away where this company is REALLY going, and I guess Austin just knew before we got the chance to hear it.

Uber, I am not saying Austin didn't have his reasons, but you do not walk out on your job, period. As far as HBK's comment, I hope that goes no where. I truly hope NWO is not about to turn into DX 2002.

I'm just saying that I think I understand his motives a little better now.
We can definitely agree on that. I think we see where this is going...

i hate austin!!!!...i always have...except when he was a heel and hugging vince...that was funny...not this i can take out 5 guys by myself and i never job to anyone...i hope he quits...on another note i am psyched that chris nowinski aka harvard chris finally is on tv...i hope they dont stick him with regal long though...it just doesnt work for me for some reason...speaking of...i really hope the thing with jake aka chisel is a work and they are actually signing him...linda wrestled like shit on velocity and jackie is just a set of tits...when i want to see tits i can turn it to cinamax...jake should be there...not those two
Uber, I would agree with the idea that there are some wrestlers who ought to be nervous if the Kliq is reconsolidating power somehow. If my name was RVD, Jericho, Edge, Benoit, Lesnar, or Eddy I would be concerned. But really, does anyone think that Austin is in danger of being somehow shunted down the totem pole for X-Pac? If that's what made Austin leave, I think it's some serious overreacting on his part.

Austin should be benched. The inmates are beginning to run the asylum, and it's almost looking like WCW all over again (not that WWE is going out of business, but these constant changes in direction and the whining and power plays by the talent definitely reminds me of WCW)

Forgive me my skepticism, but too much about this story doesn't add up. Based on the past few episodes of RAW, Autin is feuding with Eddie Guerrero, with Benoit up next, while Brock Lesner is feuding with Bubba Ray Dudley, with RVD up next. Add to that the follow-up to last week's RAW, where Ric Flair is to be Austin's personal servant. With all that to draw from, how could there have possibly been a match between Austin and Lesner scheduled for tonight? Also, the matches we did see tonight (RVD vs Guerrero, Lesner vs Bubba Dudley, leading to RVD vs Lesner) did a great job of following existing story lines for matches that supposedly were thrown together at the last minute because of Austin's walk-out.
I know the writing has been below-par this year, but there is simply no way I am going to believe that Austin was booked to wrestle Lesner tonight.
I don't think it's even about Austin himself, I think it may be about the company. (Though to call Austin unselfish is seemingly very untrue.) Rock puts HHH on the table. Jericho, noted friend of Rock, is shit on for it. Now I'm not terribly up on who's pals with who, but I know one of Austin's few friends in the company is (was, at least) Rock, and if I'm Steve Austin, and I see the writing on the wall, to the point where it's so bad that another huge top company guy and friend like Rock says something, then the picture gets a little clearer. Now, HHH, who, if you haven't noticed, is in big at the top (so to speak) has all his buddies back in town.
Hunter really knows his shit. He's now ahead of good pal Shawn, and at the same time kept him right by his side. Spf, Austin (wisely or not) may have feared a slide down that totem pole, but those guys you listed- they just got buried under it.
I'm all for him staying at home, myself. The WWF doesn't need that primadonna bullshit going on now or ever and should finally take a stand and say enough. They have built up bigger stars in the past to replace the fallen and they have the best talent in the world at their disposal. If they can just retap that old WWF magic and make some new stars they'd be back in business without having to worry about bringing back Stone Cold, who doesn't exactly have that much gas left in his tank.
You've got a good point, it would seem almost certain that Brock would be a King of the Ring contestant. Would they have asked Austin to be in the King of the Ring tournament? And moreover, ask him to lose a first round match to Lesnar (with probably massive screw job)? Would Austin feel that KOTR is beneath his character?
The Buh-Buh match up does make sense. But I suppose they could have set up a KOTR first round between Austin and Lesnar, with plans of Flair, Benoit, and Guerrero costing Austin the match. We'll never know.
Well, if we're getting rid of primadonna bullshit, let's send Triple H home too. Because let's look at this one way: Austin went home, he didn't actually make Lesnar look bad in any way. Triple H? He would have beat him cleanly. You know he would have. Triple H is THE primadonna of this federation, hell, look at Michaels comment, I don't care if Rock had just been on, there was no reason for it. Triple H is a face right now, Rock is THE face, and Rock stealing HHH's spotlight is laughable anyway. HHH made his name off the Rock, beat him at Fully Loaded, thrust him into the spotlight, beat him with the sledgehammer at No Mercy, made him look like a dangerous heel. The Rock doesn't need to steal anyone's spotlight. Say what you will about Rock, he doesn't pull this bullshit (at least we never hear he does). Guy jobbed to Bossman, period. All I know is this is becoming way too much like WCW back in the day and it worries me. Triple H has already ruined one of the only potential main event heels, I shudder at the idea that Angle might have to feud with him again one day. As for gas left in the tank, Triple H has been running on empty since he came back. He's a shell of his former self and yet Austin takes more heat from people. Austin may have went home, he may not have done his job, but I'll still say it's better than doing your job and proceeding to ruining others for the sake of your own ego. I mean Austin jobbed to Booker, twice. Booker won that feud (no one remembers it though, there was no PPV finish due to the Rumble). Who was the last person Triple H put over? Hogan. That's it. Oh well, I don't really know what to think of all this, as you can tell from my rambling. Austin shouldn't have left, but if the WWE was planning on having him face Lesnar, they're dumb. It's way too soon (still can't believe Vince is 100% owner because of Brock Lesnar. That guy isn't even over. All he does is get Goldberg chants.) and Austin just ripped his character on Byte This 10 days ago, the writing was on the wall there. Oh well, this next week should be very interesting to say the least.
HOLLY: How do you like me now? COLE: You're a jerk Holly! ME: (sigh) Cole ruins everything!
ok, i gave Austin the benifit of the doubt the first time he walked out, but there is no excuse for this shit. HHH is a primadonna, but that isnt the point, HBK dissing the Rock isnt the point. the little crybaby thinks he can just walk out whenever he doesnt like his job? BULL. And another thing. Austin cannot criticize anybody's character or gimmick until he takes a long look in the mirror.
You are a very talented and skillful person, but you're so annoying and egotistical, people tend to dislike your attitude.
I officially gave up the WWE during the HLA segment on Raw a couple of weeks ago. I just decided that I no longer enjoy the product (and disagree with the content)
