Final Resoultion 2008 Resutls w/ Highlight Notes

Feast or Fired! (up first) Spots galore!

Winners: "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal, Homocide, Hernandez, and Curry Man (who called that?)

Randomly Opened Case on the PPV: Number 2: Jay Lethal with a Tag Team Title Shot.

JB mouths off to Alex Shelly calling him Total Non-Stop Ahole.

Sharmell, The Beautiful People(Angelina Love and Velvet Sky /w Cute Kip) vs ODB, Taylor Wilde and Roxxi.

Highlights: Sharmell chickens out...runs from ODB. Taylor Wilde reverses Angelina Love top rope cross body block for the three count.

Winners: ODB, Taylor Wilde, and Roxxi.

MCMG hunt down JB while he's talking with Eric Young. They ask where Mick Foley is in the building.

TNA X Division Title Match
Eric Young vs Sheik Abdul Bashir (w/Shane Sewell controversy)

Highlights: Eric Young wins but it looks like the X Division title is still shrouded in controversy. After the match Bashir attacks EY until Shane steps in once and then twice until he gets attacked by Bashir. Bashir nails Shane with the X Division title busting him open. Finishing him and EY off until Jim Cornette stops him at the top of ramp and takes the belt from him. (announced later in the PPV the strap is held up until Impact)

Winner(at least of the match): Eric Young

TNA Knock Outs Women's Title Match
Awesome Kong w/ Raisha Saeed and Rocca Kahn vs Christy Hemme

Highlights: Looks like Christy going to win when they pull her outside and a massive beat down starts until the ref FINALLY calls for DQ. Awesome Kong and Christy continue until they security comes in. (Fans Chant: Let them fight!)

Winner: Kristy Hemme(by DQ)

JB interviews Kurt Angle. What's he feeling like? Ecstasy, pure ecstasy. He relates it to being a hunter. Talk about being intense.

TNA Tag Team Championship Match
Beer Money Inc. (Robert Roode and "Tennessee Cowboy" James Storm) vs. "The BluePrint" Matt Morgan and "The Monster" Abyss

Highlights: Abyss chases James Storm. Then does it again until he chases both Roode and Storm into a over the top rope dive by Matt Morgan. A few timing issues but nontheless a decent match. Nothing to get super excited about. James Storm pops Abyss with brass knuckles to win.

Winners: Beer Money Inc.(defended titles)

MCMG confront Mick saying they want the case that Jay Lethal grabed from them reversed. Mick states that wasn't the rules. The get done talking and show up in the ring to sit down. Jim Cornette comes out and say get out before he sends security out to get them. Suicide debuts and cleans both of there clocks.

Rhino in the back looking like he's going come through the TV he's so intense.

Special Rules Match Stipulations - Angle wins: Gets match with Jeff Jarrett. Rhino Wins: Angles contract is terminated.
Rhino vs. Kurt Angle (w/ Mick Foley Special Enforcer)

Highlights: Obvious ref bump. Leads Mick in to "Enforce". Makes Kurt put down the blatant chair he brought in. Out walks...Al Snow! He slaps Mick Foley causing Foley get out of ring and chase him over the rail with what the hell he was doing. Angle nails Rhino with chair and an Angle Slam with Foley reluctantly counting three after not seeing what happened from the distraction.

Winner: Kurt Angle

Sting in the back with MEM saying they Front Line has obviously disrespected all of them. Time to teach them a lesson.

TNA Front Line, can they trust team 3D? There like brothers and like family. They can trust them. Brother Devon got it.

World Title Match - Eight Man Tag
MEM (Sting, Steiner, Nash, and Booker T) vs TNA Front Line(AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, (Team 3D)Brother Ray, and Brother Devon)

Highlights: Lot of tagging in and out. Wow...Nash taking some actual bumps. Working boots on tonight. Fair share of almost everyone in the match. Low blow on Samoa Joe and Scorpion Death Drop ends the match.

Winners: MEM (Sting, Nash, Steiner, and Booker T)[Sting Defends]

Summary: All in all...it was a fair PPV. I wouldn't say super solid but it had pretty good flow considering the TV product still seems all over the place most of the time. Next Month we have Angle vs Jarrett. We'll see where we go from here.

They really debuted the silly looking character from the video game? The character with the bootleg superhero look? My brain......is having trouble.......visualizing this for some reason.

I've seen speculation that it was Low Ki in the suit and not Frankie Kazarian. I guess that would be a step up.

Amazingly, I guessed that it would be Al Snow. Maybe Foley can bring in Steve Blackman to feud with him.

I can't wrap my head around the fact that Mike Tenay said Al Snow slapped Foley because of his old book. Seriously? They already had that feud in WWE with the exact same storyline? And it happened almost TEN YEARS AGO! And to have Foley run in and make that three-count like a dope after Angle laid out Rhino with the chair was total nonsense. Seriously, if that's the ending, why even bother to have a special ref? You could get the same result with any run-of-the-mill referee.

I really hope the ending of the main event doesn't lead to a bunch of "Is there dissension within the Main Event Mafia?" questions for the next few weeks. Especially since they've been together less than a few months. Crash TV, baby!

Look, I'm an Al Snow mark from way back who believes the guy deserved a lot better than the JTTS role he got in his WWF days. But ... a Foley/Snow feud? In 2008-almost-2009? No.

Should I be surprised that Joe ate the pin in the main event?

Stripping Eric Young of the title because of postmatch shenanigans that didn't really involve him would be incredibly dumb. So that's what I figure will happen.

This show was so full of bad booking decisions that it's not even funny. Apart from that, there was no mind-blowing action, the main event and the Feast or Fired were pretty good, but no other match was really noticeable. The crowd was pretty hot, so that helped.

I have some questions, though:
- Why didn't they open the cases on PPV?
- Why was it that ODB chased Sharmelle once and then gave it up? What with ODB's character and the last two weeks worth of developments, you'd think she'd really want to get her hands on Sharmelle and teach her a few life lessons.
- Why did Eric Young get stripped of the title when the concerned controversy had nothing to do with him? Why is it that this thing was not resolved on PPV?
- Was it the whole point of the MCMG's actions to get beat down by Suicide?
- Why did Joe take the pin in the main event?
- Al Snow? 2008-09?
- Why is there dissension among the MEM already?

I think it's Low Ki under the Suicide guise. It surely didn't look like Kazarian.

It's good that Curry Man has one of the cases - there was some foreshadowing too, when the forfeit offer was made. Me like.

Christy Hemme worked way better than I thought she would.

The Team-3D non-swerve was refreshing.

In all, twas an ok show, I'd say. But I hate it when the PPV is used to push the TV product along and not the other way around. Since it wasn't mind blowing, I'm sure the Survivor Series comparisons will start flowing in, but IMO this show just did not have enough going for it to match the standard (however weak it may be) set by SS. 4.5/10, methinks.

I thought it was a pretty solid show. I mean, my expectations were low, but the show exceeded them. There weren't any blow-away matches but there weren't any awful ones, either.

I have no problem at all with the decision to not spend precious PPV time opening briefcases. They only opened the one because it had ramifications that played out during the PPV.

I assume because the story is Joe being personally pissed at Nash for taking the low road and stuff. Joe wouldn't take it personally if it was, say, Devon eating the pin, and no one would care if it was Devon who was pissed at Nash. I don't necessarily agree with it, but if that's the thought process, I can understand it.

I hope Hernandez gets the X shot and Homicide the World shot. None of this "even random fate plays by the pigeonhole rules!" stuff.

I thought that the Eric Young title strip was due to Shane Sewell kicking Bashir's hands off the ropes at the end of the match, not because of anything afterwards. (I could be wrong, of course.) It's a common spot, but Sewell was specifically warned to not physically involve himself.

Suicide looks really pretty bad. I hope it is Low Ki/Senshi, not for Suicide's sake, but because I'd like to see Ki back in the fold. Actually, I was hoping that during the Main Event, 3D would turn on the Frontline and then, during the ensuing beatdown, TRIPLE X would run in for the save! Oh, man, that'd be awesome.

I hope Al Snow doesn't stick around. I like the guy, but he's exactly, precisely what TNA doesn't need.

James Storm is hilarious.

Probably the worst-booked show of the year. Constant "tune in on Thursday!" plugs, as opposed to delivering on stuff people actually PAID to see. Joe gets pinned, AGAIN. Sting turning face, apparently, to add another old name to the face ranks (so the top guys for the Front Line will soon be...Jarrett, Foley and Sting?). The X Division nonsense. Suicide, who is just bad-looking.

And Al Snow. Oh, lordy, Al Snow. Who in their right mind thought injecting him into a main event program was a good idea? And as a heel, no less? Sweet mercial Moses.

All well and good, and obviously they want to push the Sewell/Bashir feud, which is perfectly fine by me. But it seems like it would be better to let Young retain the title and go feud with someone new while Sewell and Bashir do their thing, instead of yet another "title mired in controversy" angle. Especially since Eric really needs to establish himself as a more serious contender now that he's shed the manchild act, and serving as a third wheel in a feud that doesn't need him isn't going to help.

Well, they can still do that on Thursday. We'll see.

Assuming you mean all three members of XXX, Skipper, Daniels and Ki, that would get me to watch next week's show.

I'll predict that 1) Bashir gets taken out of the tournament early due to interference from the de-striped Sewell, and 2) Eric goes on to win the tournament, and, finally, the title.

P.S. EDIT! PWinsider-via-411 says it was Kaz playing Suicide after all.
