What a great episode ...

- The reintroduction of Toby might have made for one of the best opening sequence ever, and there have been some great ones.

- The microwave bit was dead on. The person that mentions the microwave is always looked at as the one who should clean it even if everyone else agrees and in the end are always looked down upon more than the person that made the mess.

- I always love a good Shield reference when someone is up to something shady.

- I'm not as big a Creed fan as most, but he had two great moments tonight. Who doesn't want to drop stuff in the Quarry and hiding out with the camera crew when the raid is on ... smart.

- Dwight then comes back with his perfect crime.

It all went together beautifully, and it's nice to have the whole crew back again.

So now that Pam is back, what does Ryan do exactly? (besides make out with Kelly)

Michael's reaction to Toby was hilarious.
It devolved into utter stupidity with the drug planting stuff.
I know he hates Toby, but Michael is more dumb than malicious.

The microwave note/mess was pretty accurate from my brief office experience. More often it is dishes left in the sink or food left in the fridge. The sign usually reads, "Your mother does not work here, please clean up after yourself".

The mess maker will have to rank with the one who ruined the carpet in Michael's office as an unsolved mystery.

Anyone else think that Jim is the microwave culprit? It makes sense that he would be quiet during Pam's rant. He looked more like he was trying to avoid the conversation vs. being annoyed like the rest of the office.

I imagine this will come into play once we get some scenes of Pam and Jim living together.

I feel bad for Toby. Creed had me rolling when the cops came in. I loved the way he stood up and was getting ready to assume the position.

Good episode.

edit - oh yeah, Dwight discussing the various ways that he framed animals was great too.

I think he was just worried about her reaction to the house at that point. I think Ryan is more likely of a culprit after his conversation with Pam. Seems like something he'd do, and then try to get out of.

"Let's be adults about this. Let's have sex one more time, then if you have any extra cash, that'd be amazing." "...Okay."

I laughed through most of the intro thanks to Michael's "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Fantastic opener.

I was wondering the same thing, but guessed it was similar to whatever he did before Jim transferred way back when.

When the cops were about to start searching his desk, Toby definitely looked like he knew they'd find something, which may have been funny.

I guess Ryan went from being the temp receptionist to his old job as the temp sales guy. He's come full circle.

That opening bit was CASH MONEY. Awesome decision to have Toby's chair empty, only to then have Michael do the slow turn to face his nemesis. And, of course, the screaming.

We saw that in the episode, with Michael's reaction to the "oh, those are real cops" and attempting to say the caprese pot was his. But once the cops were gone? It's back to Toby being the jerky jerk face.

I too got the vibe that it was actually Jim who made the mess, that we would've heard it from him if Michael didn't come out with his note for delivery. (Speaking of which, knowing Toby's huge crush and creepiness who wants to bet he actually would've gone for a hug after getting the note from Pam?) But Ryan doing it seems likely as well. He was co-MVP of the episode along with Dwight. From his wheedling of Kelly, quoted above, to his assholey attempt to get Pam to clean the microwave Ryan was in full-on dick mode. And, he lead to the line of the night, from Pam!

There's a great deleted scene on NBC.com right now where Pam confronts the office about the microwave....I understand them not leaving it in because it was pretty long for a B-story, but I think it revealed a lot about Pam's character.

Just thinking about everything Creed said in this episode still makes me giggle. The Wife (as a casual fan) even declared, "Everthing he says is funny and creepy!"

Does anybody think that the documentary-being-filmed aspect of the show will ever be addressed? With the UK Office, after the first two series, it was revealed in the show that the footage filmed had been shown on national television. It just seems odd to me that the camera crew have been filming at DM for so many years without it being revealed what they are 'doing' with the footage.

Great episode, though.

He did! I guess since it was during the tag of that first episode, maybe it turned out to be non-canon like the deleted scenes. Or perhaps lazy writing. They've been pretty sloppy this year what with that Hammermill deal and Holly suddenly being a transfered employee instead of a new hire.

I'm beginning to fear that the Michael/Toby feud has gone too far to even be considered reasonable. What I mean is similar to South Park a few years ago when Eric would do something so horribly mean to the others that it became too difficult to believe that they would all remain friends and hang out together. Michael and Dwight set Toby up first with the pictures and then the drugs that it makes the fact that they share an office unrealistic.

We've seen Michael do some pretty mean things to Toby but buying 'drugs', planting them in Toby's desk and falsly calling the authorties is a little over the line and makes the storyline a little rediculous and unfunny. I liked the smaller things like the sly insults and pushing his food onto the floor much better. Then again, most of the things that happen on the show are pretty unrealistic. This one just seems to be pushing it.

...and to get back to my camera crew point; would they really sit back and allow Toby to get the blame for that? Surely they knew they would be witnesses witholding information or something. I know this sounds like a petty thing to say, but the show is going for realism still, right?

Still, it was a funy episode.
