Hello.

This week you will find 271 DVDs, 32 Blu-ray and one UMD coming out this Tuesday, 11/25 (except where I have a date to indicate that it's a little bit later). I had a LITTLE bit more free time to prepare the list this week, and I'm sure it (doesn't) shows!

Feedback is appreciated! Don't make me beg!

Purchases are also appreciated! Buy yourself something nice! The economy depends on YOU!

You know the routine: hover for price, click for Amazon page, click IMDb or tv.com logo for more information, observe links to trailers or websites, click, click, click, laugh, tip the author.

PICK OF THE WEEK
I scraped the bottom of the barrel and guess what I found there?
Crimson Force (The W at Amazon) (SciFi, 2005) C. Thomas Howell AND Jeff Fahey?! Sign us up! More info at Image (image-entertainment.com)

BIG MOVIES OF THE WEEK

Hancock (Single-Disc Rated Edition) (2008) aka "Theatrical Edition" - Will Smith, Jason Bateman - wait, Charlize Theron is in this movie? Clever advertising...
Hancock (Single-Disc Unrated Edition)
Hancock (Two-Disc Unrated Edition) second disc is one of those bogus "digital copies" along with a couple of extra featurettes - probably not worth the extra green
Hancock (Unrated) [Blu-ray]
Hancock (Unrated) [UMD for PSP] Did you find it? This is THE UMD this week! (Also, why is the only UMD version an unrated version? Isn't it kids buying these things? What's that? "Who cares?" Touche.)

Fred Claus (2007) Vince Vaughn, Paul Giamatti - just in time to ruin a SECOND Christmas season
Fred Claus [Blu-ray]

NERD ALERT:
Superman: Doomsday (direct to DVD, 2007)
Superman - Doomsday [Blu-ray]

Meet Dave (2008) Do people still watch Eddie Murphy movies?
Meet Dave [Blu-ray]

Space Chimps (2008) Voices of Andy Samberg, Cheryl Hines, Jeff Daniels, Patrick Warburton, Kristin Chenoweth, Kenan Thompson, it goes on and one...and they're all (mostly) animated chimps. Wow...this or "Meet Dave?" - what a tough choice!
Space Chimps [Blu-ray]

Slap Shot 3: The Junior League (direct to DVD, Canada, 2008) Oh no...no no no no no no. Leslie Nielsen no. Old Hanson Brothers no. Cameos by Mark Messier and Doug Gilmour no no no. www.slapshotjuniorleague.net no. No no no no no. Too early for Reg Dunlop to spin in his grave no. The movie industry: LEARN TO SAY "NO!"

My Big Break (2008) - Ten years of Hollywood life distilled into just under two hours - www.mybigbreakmovie.com - rescheduled a few times (11/30)

The Nutty Professor (The Nutty Professor 2: Facing the Fear - direct to DVD, 2008) Animated - Jerry Lewis IS amongst the voices...but I still think you should avoid it

Still Life (Sanxia Haoren - China/Hong Kong, 2006) Trailer at Amazon, or at New Yorker Video (newyorkerfilms.com)

Beautiful Ohio (2006) William Hurt, Rita Wilson, Michelle Trachtenberg, Julianna Marguiles

River Queen (New Zealand/UK, 2005) Kiefer Sutherland, Samantha Morton

CLASSIC MOVIES OF THE WEEK
Misty (1961) Yeah, the one about the horse
Sounder (1972) Cicely Tyson, Paul Winfield

BOXES AND COLLECTIONS OF NOTE OF THE WEEK
David Lynch The Lime Green Set Ten discs - if you're a Lynch fan at all, you probably have most of this (and a tough decision to make) - rescheduled from last week
Pink Panther Ultimate Collection Nine discs of films, nine discs of cartoons - if you REALLY like "Pink Panther" ....well, it would be hard to believe you didn't already have most of this separately anyway.
The Ron Howard Spotlight Collection A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13, Cinderella Man and Backdraft

YOU SAY YOU'RE A LAZY SHOPPER WITH MONEY TO BURN, BUT YOU DON'T WANT TO GIVE THAT MONEY TO ME? WELL THEN...
Kung Fu Panda - Wrapped and Ready for Christmas (2008) Because you would rather spend an extra six bucks than buy this one
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - Wrapped and Ready for Christmas (2008) Only a $5 surcharge for the paper for this one
Iron Man - Wrapped and Ready for Christmas (2008) Or save six bucks by buying this one and wrapping it yourself - you know, come to think of it, can't you get Amazon to wrap it in THEIR paper for, like, $2.49 or something?

There, I said it.

(Also, why is the only UMD version an unrated version? Isn't it kids buying these things?

No, no one's buying UMDs.

What the? Who the? Huh? That's gotta be the dumbest thing I've ever seen. If you give it as is, it gives away what's inside the wrapping! If you don't want to give the surprise away, you have to go through the extra effort of removing the outer wrapper (or is it just a sleeve?) that you paid extra to have on there!

And you can't give it for Hanukkah or Kwanzaa because it clearly says it's wrapped for CHRISTMAS!

EDIT: And the Iron Man logo is on the wrapping paper! WHY IS THIS MAKING ME SO ANGRY?!

I never could get into it, great animation and everything. I guess I'm too much of a fan of the original BG Crisis.

I gotta agree. The original BUBBLEGUM OVA's were really good, and I even liked BUBBLEGUM CRASH, but the newer series didn't do anything for me.

Forget it Josh... it's Cerebustown.

Aren't the two stories essentially the same? Just differently animated?

Darn, no A&E icon. I thought it was ok, I'll keep watching it. At least cable shows will run the full 10 episodes and not get cancelled after 2-3 based on ratings. That Vera Farmiga rape scene was really hard to watch.
