Originally posted by PWInsiderThe word going around the company is that Mike Adamle is done, at very least for the short term. I am under the impression that he could very well be done for good. At this point, both sides finally came to an agreement that he was just not cut out for the business so he was taken off of TV. A lot of people in the company said that it was fitting that on what was probably his final night, he messed up his lines badly. It was a fitting end to his WWE run.
That's too bad...he was starting to grow on me. I'm sure that his mic work could have improved, but perhaps it's not meant to be.

I'm surprised a guy with such trouble getting names right would be bumped up to a bigger TV presence. The angle with Adamle as an unknown commodity who is the subject of manipulation is interesting. But when you have an untested figure playing an untested figure, it would be a miracle if anyone could improve in that situation. In that regard, I feel bad for him. I mean, it took Santino almost a year to move from fluke foreign champ to weekly guaranteed comedy highlight.
The WWE is live theatre, and you have to work the crowd and know your character and especially the script. You need a performer, not just a professional anchor. He seems best used now as a backstage interviewer.
Kudos for the WWE trying something different. Boos for doing it in such a an ill-advised way.

I suspected that might be his last day, but they threw me off because people usually get jobbed, squashed, FARRRR'D, shit on (sometimes literally), or otherwise humiliated on their way out. Come to think of it, Coach got off pretty easy too.
I agree that it was a good idea for a GM, but the wrong guy was playing the part. He wasn't good in his role, but he wasn't one of the biggest problems with the show either.

In the matter of Coachman, he ended up going to ESPN, which I'm sure is much better looking than going to TNA in WWE's giant eye. For Adamle, no burial was really neccessary in the end.

My neck is still a bit sore from the whiplash I got when I first heard his voice on ESPNEWS. I can't believe Coach got that gig, and good for him.
I had to see it to believe it, but he's really good. I mean, I heard that he was courting an ESPN gig, but the WWE didn't make any mention that he actually left the show, did they?

I'm fairly certain I heard him as one of the live call in consultants giving updates on College Football games from location on Fox Sports Radio as recently as last season, but being such a casual watcher of WWE over the last few years, I have no idea if he was still working for the WWE then.

I know he came from a Kansas State announcing background as well. I think that's where the WWE hired him from, actually. I remember reading he had no wrestling experience when they hired him.
I remember Coach doing commentary for I believe Pac 10 tourney games 3-4 years ago, maybe on FSN?
As for Adamle, are they bringing back Hogan's American Gladiators for another season? Hate to see a guy canned, but it just wasn't working. He lost them at "Jeff Harvey". When they have to incorporate into your character how inept and clueless you are because you keep screwing up, it's just a matter of time.

I distinctly remember him doing play-by-play for (I think) a Division II football game, so yes. And let's not forget Max Bretos and Todd Grisham working with Fox Soccer Channel as well.
