A real big bummer...

From PWInsider:

FORMER WWF ENHANCEMENT LEGEND SPECIAL DELIVERY JONES PASSES AWAY
    by Dave Scherer @ 2008-10-27 10:48:20

Conrad Efraim, known to the masses as Special Delivery Jones back in the old WWF, passed away Sunday in native Antigua a few days after suffering a stroke. He was 63 years old.

Back in the days when promotions rarely put marquee matches on TV, SD was one of the great "enhancement talents" of all time. A match with him was different than your usual "jobber" bout because Jones would get in a lot of offense and have a competitive match, which his opponent had to work to win. While he did get more of a push earlier in his career, his is best remembered for being a top enhancement guy during the early years of Vince McMahon's WWF.

I actually got to see SD Jones wrestle at a house show when I was a kid. He was one of my favorite JTTS back in the day. Very sad.

From ANTIGUA when he wrestled anywhere BUT Philly.

True legend IMO. Was able to put on a great show, no matter who was beating him.

Was he the guy Bundy pinned for the quickest WrestleMania match time?

I grew up watching WWE's Tuesday and Sunday shows, and SD was a constant presence.

Yes, like 20 seconds I think. I have really only become familiar with him on 24/7, where it seems he is in the opening match of every house show. When I was a kid, he was just a name I heard in the magazines. Was he ever more than a JTTS? Always sad to hear this kind of news, but at least he was an older man, and didn't die tragically like so many others in the business in recent years.

RIP

I used to always like seeing SD growing up and I can swear I've seen him pick up wins in jobber matches again Rene Goulet, Mike Sharpe or Barry O. I even had his big rubber action figure.

This is a downer for me. SD Jones was always one of my favorite wrestlers when I was a little kid. I would always get excited and hope he would win.

Well that's pretty weak. Was my favorite jobber when I was a kid. Used to actually even think he'd win a match one of these days...

Great screen name.

I never really got to see him since I started watching wrestling in 1999, but I have seen a lot of his older matches and he seemed like a good wrestler. Plus, I never heard anything bad about him outside of the ring. At least he got to live a good, long life.

RIP

Shelton, unfortunately, has fallen into the group of "the guy who always, always steals the show in the Money in the Bank match, but will never in a million years win it."
