Well, I guess I can at least step away from the edge of the cliff now. The Chiefs finally had the kind of game that showed some potential that I needed to see. Shame on Herm for not starting Huard last week! They are still a bad team, but at least I can see them getting to 4-5 wins now. The Rams are now officially the worst team in Missouri! I still like Denver's offense. They got a lot of yardage, but they can't turn the ball over like that. Of course, I liked how the Chiefs took every chance they could to try and strip the ball.
The NFC East is head and shoulders better than any other division.
Wonder how many times Kornheiser brings up Favres 6 TD game tonight? And Aaron Rodgers 3 INTs?
Whew, the Cardinals had me worried they might be good for a minute! Nice to see you back loser Cards!
Good to see the Browns win, even if it was against the Bungles. Your reward, a beating by the Giants.
I liked how Favre looked yesterday as well as the way the Jets went for it from play #1 (long attempt to Coles). I'm also a fan of the NY Titans throwback jerseys. That said, a team with a real defense is still likely to give the Jets fits, Favre or no. I think he's finally getting up to speed on the playbook, though.
Rodgers looked pretty human by comparison. And, as someone pointed out, Green Bay doesn't have much at QB behind him. I didn't think that Harris' absence against a team like Tampa Bay would be a huge deal, and it wasn't (Griese's numbers were utter shite). But I always manage to forget how good Tampa's defense still is (e.g. Rodgers' and Grant's numbers were utter shite, too).
The Philly Chicago game last night was some of the best smashmouth football I've seen in yonks. Even when the Eagles went to a single-wing-like formation with 9 or 10 in the box, Chicago's defense came storming through. That was obscene. And every hit by both defenses was heavy; all of those boys are going to be feeling that today. I think Westbrook and/or a healthier McNabb would have made the difference in that game, but Chicago definitely got it done when they had to.
And who would have thought that the two teams that tried to keep things fairly simple on their young quarterbacks last year, Buffalo and Washington, would see returns so quickly. They're both definite threats this year. Solid defense is a big part of it for both, I think.
(edit: oddly, I can't keep Santana Moss and Laveraneus Coles straight. Fixed.)

Not to discredit the Chiefs (since they did a good job exploiting Denver's weakness) but they faced quite possibility the worst defense in NFL history.
I liked how the games shook out from the Giants' perspective yesterday. They made up ground by not playing. The Cowboys and Eagles losing makes me glad.

We could very easily be 1-3 as opposed to 3-1.
Obviously, you never watched the Chiefs D in the Vermeil years.:)

Up until the point where the QB controversy starts. When do the Billick to the Vikings rumors begin? Just when you think the Cardinals might have turned a corner, they just revert to their traditional selves.
