From this group, Booker appears to be the early favourite. Jericho has already been "elevated," X-Pac winning would cause a fan riot, and Val winning wouldn't do much for him; the man needs a major gimmick makeover.
Has there been any announcement as to whether the PPV will feature the quarter-finals, or only the semis yet?
I was born in a manger, like that other guy. You know, he wore a hat?
I think they said that IS the Final Four. As in, we just saw the quarterfinals. -_- If they want anyone to care about the winner, they should give us a reason to care.
I think JR said the PPV would have just semis, I'm not sure though.
About X-Pac, I don't think he would win regardless of fan sentiment simply because he has gone just about as far as a man his size can go in the wrestling world, and giving him the crown would be a waste. Also, he has already been to the finals before (losing to Billy Gunn in 1999), and I believe the only man to make it to the KOTR finals twice was Kurt Angle, and that is because of his "I'm gonna be the first man to repeat" storyline.

Any guesses on the other four? For Raw, I'm saying Brock Lesnar and Bubba Ray. Smackdown is a little harder, but I will go with Randy Orton and Lance Storm. If I'm right, you will all hear about it, but if I am wrong, everyone will have forgotten. That's the beauty of making predictions on a message board.
as drjayphd said earlier, I think they said those are the only four guys going into KOTR. Unless I seriously misunderstood JR on Raw, I thought he said those were qtrfinal matches.

Heat? what do you mean? no heat? Granted, Jericho vs Venis I couldn't give a shit about..
But X-Pac vs Booker? Dude, you will see the conclusion of the nWo/Booker T angle. This match will have it all. That ratty sucka, The Book, Goldust running in, the nWo running in..etc! He will either really really join or be kicked out but it WILL be interesting. And if he gets kicked out, expect him to win in a classic match against Jericho.

Well if the semis and finals are going to be at KOR, I assume that's three matches - Raw final, SD final, and the KOR final.
They have two weeks of TV left. So, I'm guessing next week we'll see two more qualifying matches on each show to bring the total number to 8 (4 from each show). Then, on the next week's TV, we'll get the 'quarter-finals', which will bring the number down to the 4 who will go on to KOR.
As for guesses on the other 4, I'll go with Brock and Raven from Raw, and Test and Hardcore Holly from SD.
I can't believe the naysayers are already out in force for this PPV, even though the card isn't even final! Well, actually, I guess I can. There's always someone who has to say, "Oh well, I won't be getting this PPV." Pleh. Well, I agree with those who think this will kick ass, especially the culmination of Booker and the nWo, if it happens. To see the Bookerman dissed and beat down by the nWo, only to overcome and win the crown and turn face...dude, I am THERE.

Everything WWE does these days is so vague that it's really hard to come to a judgment at this point except "They don't plan anything in advance and they suck." Brackets would be nice. I don't care if someone gets injured or takes vacation the next week, or some idiot in a suit gets a new idea, they should at least plan that far ahead.
King of the Ring should be built to, but instead it just seemed thrown together on Monday. I like the idea of RAW & SMACKDOWN! brackets, but they didn't seem to plan beyond that.
My only guess is that the finals are Booker T vs Jericho with the nWo costing Booker the match (because he beat X-Pac earlier) and Jericho winning so he can lay claim to being the Lion King (barring any copyright restrictions) and get a shot against HHH at SummerSlam while much more interesting matches happen elsewhere.
Well, if there are more participants in the KoTR tourney, and they actually develope a storyline in the next few weeks, I'd be happy to change my mind. But to me, if JR says, "Well, that's our four KoTR finalists" then that bores me to death, and I don't see much to be excited about.

I'm probably also bitter because my friends pressured me into getting Judgement day.

I think J.R. goffed, because I heard the matches for KOR were just qualifying matches. We still have the quarterfinals to go through for the next few weeks. If Val, Jericho, Booker T and X-Pac are the only final four wrestlers this far away from the PPV then I'm shocked. I'll say Brock and Lance will get shots at the four remaining spots as for the last Raw and Smackdown spot its a guessing game. I can't believe they are trying to push Val and not Kidman or some other young Smackdown wresters.
If that's all the people in the KOTR, I'm going to cry. I mean...X-Pac, Jericho and Venis don't belong there at all. They're either not over at all, or too over. Booker-Man is the ONLY man who deserves to be there thus far...SUCKA!!
Yeah, I'm a Booker Mark...

I think it might be Val because they are giving him a push and in due time if they push him right the might be able to cause a fan appriation for Val. Jericho is already over, booker is over but he could still win it and X-pac,well I dont know about him. Either way its too early to tell who will win with just 4 wrestlers.
Nobody with the name "The Big Valbowski" will ever be the recipient of a serious push.
