So someone took it upon themselves to register and create a web page about my boss. I have now been tasked with finding the culprit.

The page in question is www.amatogalasso.com

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks as always,

The only way you'll get that page taken down is to buy the domain from them, which, I would imagine, will cost quite a bit of money, especially considering they are rather aware of your boss' winnings at poker.

It might sound like extortion, but when your boss calls his lawyer all he's going to hear is laughter.

Thanks.

He isn't upset at all, just curious as to the who and whys of it.

He finds it odd that they would use him considering he's such a small fish in the "poker world". I guess they are forward thinking in hopes that he does make it big one day.

Anyway, he is a lawyer so I guess he'll be laughing at himself...

Thanks again!

It's just another way that the people who make their living spamming you with casino ads can spam their casino ads out there. They probably have a few hundred of them. Well...at least two (erichaber.net).

Hey, this guy isn't even a poker player! (bobbyzamora.com)

"Forward thinking" is not a term I would use with this kind of sleaze. I have a low opinion of Web pages which are nothing more than thinly veiled ads. (Look for a new DVD post Friday!)

As for finding out who's behind it...you have more than a few "unique" referral links you could try to track down, but I doubt you'll get far towards finding a name to tie them to.

EDIT: It looks like LookupPage (lookuppage.com) is involved - MAYBE he could contact them and say "hey, somebody created my page but it wasn't me" but again...if they're getting money out of it they might not be so willing to let you pry it out of their clutches.

I had a similar problem, too. I had to actually alter the settings in my mouse control panel. I had to make my wheel button "middle click" instead of "next window".
