A Happy Dominion Day (or "Canada Day") to all of the W's from Canada! The benefit of living in Ottawa; no shortage of stuff to do! My plans; going out with the fiance to grab some Beaver Tails and ~POUTINE! After that probably just walking around and seeing if anything itneresting is going on. She does want to go to a free concert at the NAC, so that'll likely happen as well.

I'm spending the day on my lawn, hosting a kiddy-pool party, with a Super Nintendo available on the deck and many cold beverages. This should be a good day.

Is it just a coincidence that it's also NHL Free Agent Day?

There's a Canadian-themed bar here in Houston...the aptly named Maple Leaf Pub. We're hitting there in a bit for some Canada Day festivities.

The wife tried to get some Alexander Keith's imported for me, but the liquor distributor couldn't bring it in. Looks like I'm gonna have to drink Moosehead all night. Sad.

I celebrated Canada Day by going to a pancake breakfast in the morning, playing a decent round of golf in the afternoon, and waking up at 3:00am to gunfire a block from my house.

Gang-related or simply a cattle-rustling deal gone bad? Details aren't out yet.

Tonight on COPS: the real reason for Mad Cow!

On Canada Day, I worked a midnight shift, so I spent most of it sleeping. En route to work, I checked out a couple of celebrations downtown (I had a few minutes to kill waiting for a bus) and then caught some of the fireworks...they were kinda sorta viewable from my workplace.

Poutine and hotdogs are insulting? But, that and teenage drinking is why we go to Canada.

Just as long as they don't get rid of Molson and Tim Horton's, Canadia is A-OK with me.

It's not. The article says "where some nationalists are quick to take offense at what they see as unfair treatment by the country's English-speaking majority". By "nationalists" they're likely speaking of "sepratists", those people who somehow think all of Quebec's problem will go away if they leave the country to make their own.

Seriously, poutine is awesome. Every REAL Canadian knows this (or at least respects this).

I remember seeing LotR: Two Towers in NYC, and they had the trailer for this waste of film. Near the end, someone blurted out "WHY, GOD, WHY???" Yet another reason you fanboys... assuming you aren't one yourself.
