Morrison and the Miz retain over Finlay and his kid.
Hardy beats Chavo for the US Title.
Mark Henry becomes your ECW Champion after Kane Superplexes Big Show. Henry clobbers Kane and takes the strap.
Ted Dibiase and Cody Rhodes beat Bob Holly and Cody Rhodes for the belts. (see, Cody turned on Bob) If only Hardcore Holly was still alive to help his brother avenge this loss.
Y2J drops the belt to Kofi Kingston.
Mickey James defeats Katie Burchill.
Edge retains over Batista through various shenanigans.
And finally HHH beats John Cena to retain.
So, that's pretty much a dead PPV, crowd was dead. Matches were by the book mostly.
I dunno, both world titles still on Smackdown isn't by the books. Unless they find some way to move HHH back - or they're ready to pull the plug on World Champion CM Punk (which doesn't seem likely given his booking recently) - I have no idea where they're going with that.
If you mean Crash Holly, Crash was Hardcore's cousin, not his brother.
Also, still don't know it's spelled "Mickie" James?
As it stands, Kofi Kingston is the highest ranking singles Champion on RAW, unless Mickie James actually outranks him. The Women's Title is technically a World title, no?
Smackdown continues to have two World Champions, further proof at a renewed push to brand Smackdown as the A show, or AN A show if not THE A show.
What I'm dreading is the possibility of a HHH-Edge title unification match at Summerslam.
And am I the only one who said "Oh, fuck you" when HHH busted out the Crossface?
I think the end of the ECW title match was the fastest I've ever seen Mark Henry move without being thrown.
Morrison, Miz, Finlay, and, yes, Hornswoggle had a much better match than I would've expected. Now get Morrison and Miz some real opponents, not a guy and his comedy midget.
Kofi winning the belt got a bigger pop from my fellow barflies than I would've expected. (And no, there were no Jamaicans around.) Only Vickie being thrown over the ropes got more of a reaction.

Memories of Brock superplexing Show and the (gimmicked) ring collapsing come to mind. Was it as impressive as that?
Does knowing that the ring was gimmicked -- and furthermore pointing-out that it was gimmicked -- make you feel extra special or something?
Wrestling's a work. OK, everyone gets it. With all due respect, the less "smark" you try to be, the more you'll probably enjoy the show.
For the life of me, I will never understand why just because it's professional wrestling there is this need to know and express and dissect every little aspect about it. You wouldn't watch a movie or live theater and be like, "Erhhhghghh...that's just special effects and ropes and pulleys! NOT REAL!!!!"

Nah, anyone can superplex anyone because the person being superplexed is the one really doing the move. Big Show could sell a superplex to Mickie James if he wanted to.
Now Kane throwing Big Show over the top rope scoop-slam style a few years ago... that was impressive.
Kevin Eck's blog over at the Baltimore Sun really was right on with how this was going to turn out, right down to the Rhodes turn to join up with Ted Jr. Mark Henry winning the ECW title only made sense, Show and Kane don't need the title.
I'm not dreading a unification match at all... we really only need **ONE** world champion. I'd also get rid of the useless US heavyweight belt and the ECW belt.

Nope, everybody at my place was totally skeeved out by that.
Otherwise, the HHH/Cena match was actually better than I expected, and everyone popped for Kofi winning the IC title. He's the kind of guy the IC title was made for, a dude coming up in the ranks who could use the legitimacy of a belt. Jericho and Michaels certainly don't need it.
To answer the superplex question, Kane didn't even climb the ropes to deliver it. He was standing on the mat to deliver the suplex on Big Show, who was sitting on the top turnbuckle.

Then again, maybe there are those that would...

Didn't he already use that at Wrestlemania?
I thought Cena/HHH was really good. That's about all I thought.

Did you all also say "Oh, fuck you" each of the half a dozen times Shawn Michaels used the crossface in the last year? Because Triple H isn't the first guy since Benoit to use that move. Or is this all just Internet smark bashing because it's Triple H?
And since no one has said it yet: Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston? Jamaican me crazy!

It was also creepy then too.
It sucks because on one hand it seems ridiculous to think that a move should be outlawed because someone who killed their family used it. But then again, the person who used it most killed his family... so it's tough.

I think its more along the lines of "Are you really going to bust out that move on the PPV that Chris no-showed one year ago because he was busy killing people?" Rather than the usual sort of HHHating you see.

Punk cashing in the briefcase at Edge's wedding would've been a perfect way to solve that problem since it a) would've been surprising had Punk not threatened Edge with it two weeks ago, b) good comeuppance against Edge for screwing everyone over and using the briefcase for on-the-spot title shots twice and c) Punk would've gone back to Raw with the belt, and thus avoided the storyline-obvious reversal of Vickie just stripping Punk of the title.
I like the idea of a unification match, since I've always liked the idea of one world champion who is on all of the shows, since it makes the world title seem like a bigger deal. Sort of like the old NWA title visiting the different territories. A real unification bout should, in storyline terms, be saved for Wrestlemania. Hey, an HHH-Edge matchup would actually be a pretty great and fresh WM main event anyway.
Oh yeah, the PPV! Ted Dibiase Jr's theme music is as terrible as his father's music was/is awesome.
(edited by Big Bad on 30.6.08 0240) “How is it that I am a good actor? What I do is I... pretend to be the person I’m portraying. You’re confused. Case in point: in Lord of the Rings, Peter Jackson comes to me and says ‘I would like you to be Gandalf the Wizard,’ and I said ‘You are aware that I am not really a wizard?’ and Peter Jackson said ‘I would like you to use your acting skills to portray a wizard for the duration of the show.’ So I said ‘Okay’ and then I said to myself ‘Mmm.. How do I do that?’ And this is what I did: I imagined that I was a wizard, and then I pretended, and acted, in that way on the stage. How did I know what to say? The words were written down for me in a script. How did I know where to stand? People told me where to stand." -- Sir Ian McKellen, Extras
If Bob Holly gets swerved and punked out, does anyone care if he gets revenge?
That is why historically it would have made more sense for DiBiase to buy Holly, much as his old man bought Sapphire to screw with Dusty Rhodes. And, it would have kept the tradition of the Rhodes family being turned on by tag team partner, whether it be Ole Anderson and many others on Dusty or Arn Anderson on Dustin. Could keep it going with DiBiase continuing to attempt to destroy Cody by buying anyone he teams with, until Rhodes finally capitulates, only his capitulation is a method for him to gain revenge. Turning on Bob Holly is more likely to get a face reaction than a heel reaction. 14 years after Vince starting to mention him during Bob Backlund's crazy period, a dozen years after the dreaded 10 year contract, Vince has finally given Mark Henry a 'World' Title. Shane Douglas' career must be rolling over in its grave. I've always been a fan of having the US Title on 1 show, the I-C Title on the the other show, and the traveling world champion floating between the 2 shows. If we are going to reference wrestlers who died in less than honorable ways, let us remember Kerry Von Erich's 'There is only 1 World, so there should only be 1 World Title' belief.
Okay, you asked for it.... the COMPLETE win/loss record for everyone that's ever wrestled at SummerSlam. 6-1 Edge WINS: Marc Mero/Miss Jacqueline, Hardy Boys, Mideon/Viscera, Droz/Prince Albert, Hardy Boys-Dudleys, Lance Storm LOSS:
