I really enjoyed the show tonight.

Tim Credeur's fight with Cale Yarborough was cancelled because he tested positive for adderall.

Dean Lister b. Jeremy Horn (Submission in rd. 1)

Rob Kimmons b. Rob Yundt (Submission in rd. 1)

Drew McFedries b. Marvin Eastman (TKO in rd. 1)

Dustin Hazelett b. Josh Burkman (tap out in rd. 2)

Matt Brown b. Matt Arroyo (TKO in rd. 2) - I still say Arroyo faked that injury in TUF 6, or at least milked it so Danzig wouldn't kill him.

Riddle b. Rivera (unanimous decision after 3 rds.)- Pretty much went exactly how I expected it would based on their fights this season. Riddle despite being inexperienced looked pretty good and handled himself well. Rivera just like about all his fights this season looked pretty dull and couldn't do anything once he was down on his back.

Diego Sanchez b. Luigi Fiorvanti (TKO in rd. 3) - Wow Sanchez looked really great here. Luigi put up a good fight even though he was behind. But man, that running high knee was sick. Great fight.

Spencer b. Jeremy Stephens (Unanimous Decision in 3 rds.) - didn't see most of this.

Amir Sadollah b. CB Dolloway (Tap Out, rd. 1) - Someone please, PLEASE make a gif of Amir submitting CB, followed by CB promptly pretending he didn't tap. That's got to be the highlight of the night. Amir really looked like the real deal, coming in and beating experienced MMA veterans, as well as a former UFC fighter in his first fight of the season. There was no way that CB could stand up with Amir, so it was obvious he would try to take him down and ground and pound which is what almost won him the first fight. He once again underestimated Amir and his SCARY guard and ground game. Same finish as their first fight, except it happened quicker. War Amir.

Kendall Grove b. Evan Tanner (Split decision in 3 rds.) - Well Kendall won me 50 bucks, so good on him. Not sure what that one judge was smoking, he must've been an Evan Tanner fan and/or had money on Tanner. That should NOT have been a split decision. Grove totally dominated Tanner the first two rounds. He almost finished him in round 2. Tanner did very little against Grove after the first round. OK maybe it can be argued that he won rd. 3, but that would only make it 29-27 Tanner. Two judges scored all three rounds for Grove.

What surprised me the most is that Kendall was not the favorite for this fight. What was Tanner doing rocking that hobo beard tonight? Doesn't really put aside his washed up, drunken alcoholic image.

Anyway, War Amir.

It was a good show. I was really glad that Amir won. He has to be one of the funniest guys in the sport. I also enjoyed watching Sanchez throw those flying knees. That was fun.

Never been a Diego fan, but he won me over last night. He was possessed!

And how Evan Tanner didnt get knocked out is beyond me. Took one hell of a beating.

I'm not sure this is the big comeback for Diego that Rogan/Goldberg were praising it as, given that it took him three rounds to beat a glorified jobber in Fioravanti. I'm curious to see how a healthy Diego (he thought he had hepatitis in the first fight) would do against Josh Koscheck. Presuming Kos wins his next bout over Lytle, it wouldn't surprise me to see another Diego/Kos fight at the October or November PPV.

“How is it that I am a good actor? What I do is I... pretend to be the person I’m portraying. You’re confused. Case in point: in Lord of the Rings, Peter Jackson comes to me and says ‘I would like you to be Gandalf the Wizard,’ and I said ‘You are aware that I am not really a wizard?’ and Peter Jackson said ‘I would like you to use your acting skills to portray a wizard for the duration of the show.’ So I said ‘Okay’ and then I said to myself ‘Mmm.. How do I do that?’ And this is what I did: I imagined that I was a wizard, and then I pretended, and acted, in that way on the stage. How did I know what to say? The words were written down for me in a script. How did I know where to stand? People told me where to stand." -- Sir Ian McKellen, Extras

Trying to be the white Kimbo Slice?

Or the drunk Bob Ross.

Tanner's performance was simultaneously exciting for the toughness he showed and his desperation at the end of the third round, and also horribly depressing for everything else he did (and didn't do) during that fight.

I liked Matt Riddle in his fight against Rivera (who's the typical meathead who's unbeatable in his own mind until he actually has to go up against somebody who takes it seriously and does it for a living). He's far from looking like he can jump in and contend, but for somebody so young he shows a lot of promise and a LOT of improvement over just the last few months.

Luigi Fiorvanti showed in that fight that he had an excellent chin, a good sprawl, and great defense in his evasions and counters. Too bad he can't fight. Diego looked damn good, but just throwing a few kicks here and there against a fighter isn't gonna cut it. Luigi was tentative from the moment he stepped in there.

Fisher and Stephens was good, though not quite as good as I thought it'd be; I figured both guys would fight with just a bit more urgency. Spencer Fisher's back elbows were awesome, though, as was the fact that he looked just like Christian Cage (right down to the love handles).

I'm sorry, but CB is a goddamn clown. From that video montage (which was the old SNL "Schwepps Gay" with a couple girls thrown in to make it a little straighter), the fact that the fight had the same damn finish as before, and then to cap it off his throwing a temper tantrum because "OMG I DIDN'T MEAN TO TAP EVEN THOUGH I CLEARLY DID"...man. I love how Joe Rogan came up with the excuse that in the gym, you're used to tapping quickly. Know what that says to me? That CB Dalloway doesn't know the difference between training and fighting for real. Which in turn means he's far from ready or mature enough to be in the Octagon. Props to Amir, even though I take exception to Rogan and Goldberg comparing his personality to Forrest Griffin. Griffin's got a decent sense of humor about himself and isn't a retard, but that doesn't mean he's a huge personality. Quinton Jackson, now there's a guy with personality.

It just goes to show that the oddsmakers have a lot to learn still when it comes to MMA. Tanner hadn't won a fight since '06, and even then it was against a less than stellar fighter. Not only had the game passed him by since his prime, but he's also a guy who really hadn't been active much in two years and had made clear on numerous occassions that fighting wasn't his number one priority. Grove was coming off two losses to two legit contenders. No way Tanner should've been the odds-on favorite.

Well I should thank the stupidity of the oddsmakers really, since making Tanner the favorite won me more money then if I had bet on Grove being the favorite. Since I was convinced Grove would've won the fight regardless. Those are the odds I like .

What annoys me the most is that in the post-fight interview, CB owns up to tapping. Then there was another blurb on mmaweekly.com where he talks about "not meaning to tap and getting in a better position to break the hold".

My respect for CB continues to lessen after I was impressed with his first two fights on season 7. Now I could care less if he ever appears again. Definition sore loser. I know without a shadow of a doubt, had Amir lost or tapped he would've done it graciously.

Everyone has to make sure they watch the Hazelett/Burkman fight on the main page on UFC.com. It was the fight of the night, but they never had time to air it on the broadcast.

Spoiler Below: Highlight text to read
Elijah Burke would be proud of Hazelett.
