So this was after one game? A bit premature, no? Don't make the same mistake I did with Shane Spencer, and Hal Morris, and Hensley Meullens, and Kevin Mass...Dang!
According to my wife the local Louisville media was all over him this morning as he had just been called up from the Louisville RiverBats to the Reds. Nice debut and hopefully the start of a good run for the Reds.

I wouldn't call him a HOF'er anytime soon, but considering who else has come out of the 1st round of the 2005 MLB draft (Justin Upton, Ryan Zimmerman, Ryan Braun, Troy Tulowitzki, and Jacoby Ellsbury), I say he's got a pretty good shot to make some headway in the majors. At least you're not stuck with the pick we Mets fans have in Mike Pelfrey: yeah, 7-15 with a 5.48 ERA makes the hype surronding him SO worth it.
And if Jose Reyes and Carlos Beltran played terrible instead of putrid then the New York Mets would have a five game lead in the division. What's your point?
A team would be better if they were better at their biggest weakness. Brilliant.
The Reds may not be that good of a team, but they will be exciting to watch the next couple of days at least with Griffey going for 600 and Bruce living up to the hype. Congrats to Jay for getting your first, a walkoff against my rival Braves no less.

2-16 overall in 1 run games this season; no wins on the road, and I believe 20 straight 1 run losses on the road dating back to last season. That they have played that many 1 run games is amazing, that they can't ever be a bad 6-10 is astounding.

You consider a SHORTSTOP on pace for 20/45 putrid? He's definitely struggled, but he's still outperforming just about every shortstop in the majors save a Hanley Ramirez or Miggy Tejada.

You know, I wouldn't say he's struggled as much as he hasn't focused well enough at times. I love Jose as a player, but he annoys me sometimes with his Manny-like thinking on the basepaths, like two weeks ago at home against the nationals. But I think he's looking back on track based on the last week of play and that by the end of the season, he'll very much be among the best SS in the NL, probably next to Rollins and Ramirez.

Now THAT'S Red Sox/Yankees baseball. Zimmer, you're an idiot. Might wanna check your driver's license and re-affirm that you're 72 FREAKIN' YEARS OLD before going after a professional athlete.
