I, sir, am not. The Celtics need to take care of business in Detroit tonight and not drag this out to another Game 7. No sir.

Dear Boston Celtics,

I am please to inform you that you are in no way obligated to end your Eastern Conference Series with the Detroit Celtics tonight. Please keep in mind that you have 1 more game after this one to take care of any "business" that needs taking care of. Do not allow yourselves to be rushed into anything by any bitter old Maine residents who may try to convince you do to otherwise.

Thank you and good day,
Fross T. Freeze

Dear Detroit Pistons,

I understand that everyone outside of Detroit (including David Stern and probably half of the NBA referees) is rooting for the Celtics to win even though the Cs/Lakers games will likely not be half as exciting as their legendary battles in the 1980s that Grandpa always tells me about. And although the odds are against you winning the series, please do not take Mr. Freeze's letter insinuating that Boston may dispatch the "Detroit Celtics" - or even the Detroit Pistons - whenever they please as a personal slight against you. He is understandably giddy about his Lakers being back in the Finals and would like Kobe to have a few days rest at a Colorado resort before resuming play.

In fact, even if you are doomed to eventually lose the series, I would be very pleased if you could just serve the Piston-haters one last turd sandwich tonight.

Warm regards,
Reverend J. Shaft

P.S. Don't worry if you do lose tonight. I will defend your honor in the Finals thread by posting about how boring all of the games are like they did when you were there.

Dear Detroit Pistons,

You have had 235 consecutive sellouts. Could you please spend some of that money to send Mason to a specialist to deal with his speech impediment?
Thank You and your not trapping from the opening tip was greatly appreciated,

RSN.

When Pierce had the potential 4 point play wiped out by an offensive foul; have never seen a shooter get called for a foul in that situation, and the lead went up to 10, did anyone else think the only question was whether they'd lose by 20 or 30? Wonder how Pieman will react when he finds out the Celtics won.
Can we activate Hondo to replace Scalabrini as the 12th man?

On SportsCenter this morning, Michael Wilbon called that the worst call in the history of the NBA playoffs ... I'd be hard-pressed to disagree.

Oh, they also made a mistake this morning, saying that Boston holds the lead in NBA titles won over the Lakers, 16 to 14 ... LA only has nine championships

The Lakers franchise predates the NBA, joining the league before the 1949-50 season. They won 5 NBA titles (starting with the very first NBA Finals in 1950) before moving to Los Angeles before the 1960-61 season.

Brutal call and I am really surprised Pierce didn't get a technical, but he kept his cool.

I actually stayed awake for both Game 5 and Game 6!

I can't believe that all the games in the Finals will begin at 9:15 Eastern. That will get them done sometime after 12:30 AM and my alarm clock goes off at 5 AM! I am old and cannot stay awake every other night for a week!

Ahhhh memories...that brought a smile to my face. I don't think Mark Jackson is laughing though. I wonder if he still has the shoe prints on his shoulder...
