I live just a little east of Pittsburgh...what the hell do I have to do to get an IHOP even remotely near me ? There's only one IHOP in the whole western half of the state, and that one was just recently built.
There's also no White Castle in the state of Pennsylvania at all, unless you count the freezer section of my local Walmart.
I'm also kinda amazed that Jack in the Box has not expanded to many parts of the country.

Be careful what you wish for. We have them in every subsidiary of San Diego. Almost makes Denny's gourmet. It's probably more of a service thing here.

Why has this franchise NOT taken advantage of the movie franchise? Nothing but freezer section here too. Most of the chain restaurants have already taken advantage by selling there own overpriced sliders. Why not just start slowly popping White Castle's up all over the place. Don't take the Krispy Kreme route and shove it down throats til we get sick of it. Just open one here and there in the county, see what happens.

Jack makes the best burgers hands down (and other items). Not counting In and Out of course (whole nother level of fast food). Is the rest of the nation afraid of the whole e. coli thing from 15 years ago?
I feel very lucky that we have every chain mentioned in this thread here except for Jack in the Box. I love Qdoba, especially their Queso Burrito. They put the queso right in there! It's so good!

Could be.
My wife always immediately brings up that e. coli incident whenever I mention wanting a Jack in the Box near me and she can't believe I would want one here because of that.

Bummer. The Sirloin Burgers at JitB are the BEST burgers you can get at a fast food chain, period.

For reals? Even better than Carl's Jr/Hardees Six Dollar Burger? I just had the Western Bacon version the other day and MAN OH MAN that was a good burger.

Not for reals. The sirloin burger is pretty tasty, but it made me sick as hell. Jack's best burger hands down is the Bacon and Cheese Ciabatta.
Not to threadjack, but I'm currently LOVING the Loaded Steakhouse Burger at Burger King. Crispy onion strings, A1 sauce, MASHED POTATOES (They call it "baked potato topping"), and a patty that's way bigger than the bun. So, so good.
I really don't know how people live without these. The ability to get a Steakburger and milkshake at three in the morning is highly underrated.
Especially since they started their deals ($2.50 Steakburger? Don't mind if I do!)
I would have to agree. A Steakburger with either a milkshake or even a flavored Coke (I don't see them at all Steak 'N Shakes, but some) is absolutely the best late-night eats out there.
And as much as I liked the new Loaded Steakhouse Burger at BK, the baked potato stuff next to the bun is a little weird, texture-wise, to me.
Oh, and add me to the list of people suffering each time a Sonic commercial comes on because I can't get to one without hopping on a plane. I've heard rumors about a lot of expansion with them going on but I can't find anything on their site or on the web. Anyone know where I can find out if one is opening in Michigan anytime soon?

Well that just answered MY question about what to have for lunch.
We've been seeing ads in Chicago for Sonic for years now, and it has become almost mythical to us. On a Chicago-based message board I post at they asked what fast food chain you wish we had here, and Sonic was talked about in what I imagine would be hushed tones and reverent whispers were the conversation held verbally.
Steak N Shake is wonderful. The Frisco Melt with cheese fries and baked beans and a banana/vanilla shake is an excellent late night meal.
The Jack in the Box sirloin burger is great because you can choose your cheese and onion (grilled or non) and because of the pepper mayo. Get one with grilled onions and cheddar and they are one of the best burgers out there.
The premium Thickburger/Six Dollar Burger lineups at Hardee's/Carl's Jr are pretty damn good too.
I had BK's "loaded steakhouse" a couple weeks ago. I thought by the picture that the potato was actually some sort of ranch sauce and was surprised with what I got. But it still worked.
Steak n Shake, of course, is my favorite place to eat in the world. Frisco melt, bowl of chili, and Coke...Breakfast of champions.

My wife and I took the daughter to the King for lunch and the piewife had the Loaded Steakhouse Burger. So good. She didn't even finish it; it was too much. When my wife says a fast burger is good, then it must be outstanding!
I like the Loaded Steak Burger and the Texas Double Whopper from BK, but it's hard to match Checkers' Philly Cheese Steak Burger or the Texas Toast A-1 Double Cheese Burger. Mmmm, I can feel my arteries hardening. pic related (ihasahotdog.com)

Kansas is Sonic heaven. Other than a bit pricey, not bad. But to those IHOP lovers, the ones around here are just plain awful; overpriced, really lousy waitstaff and slow as molasses. There are great locally owned places to grab the same thing for a lot less.

In all honesty, I do enjoy Sonic and have one right near my house, but it's not like the best quality fast food out there. If I want a chili dog and fries I'm going to Weinerschnitzel instead, if I want a burger I'm going to Hardees(soon) or Jack in the Box and if I want chicken I'm going to KFC.
Sonic does have a good variety but they don't really do anything all that well. Though they will put jalepenos on my chili cheese tots so I gotta give them that.
Add me to the list of people who miss Steak 'n Shake. Since moving from Indianapolis, I haven't been able to eat at a Steak 'n Shake or an Einstein Bagels, and that irritates me.
On the other hand, there are practically more 7-Elevens in any given two-mile radius in Virginia Beach than there are in the entire state of Indiana, so I guess that evens it out a little bit.

Count me in the Sonic-is-not-all-that camp. When I moved down to NC from NJ, I'd wanted to see what all of the hubbub was about, and while the cherry-limeades are dee-lish, and the food is ok, it's kind of a letdown.

My biggest gripe about Sonic is their gimmick. The burgers are fine and the drinks are yum-ee, but if I don't live near one then I don't know how I'm supposed to eat there. I don't like eating in my car, even when parked, so the only time I've ever eaten Sonic is either when I had one near work or the one that was in a mall I used to frequent. Other than that they're just too inaccessible for me.
Well, one more gripe: their ice cream. Not bad, but...average. I can spend the same money at DQ or even McDonalds and get a much better treat. Their ice cream looks so good on TV and then you get it in your mouth and it just sits there. Meh.
I'm not entirely sure what happened to Kazaa Lite, but I'd recommend using Shareaza if you're not able to find it. http://www.shareaza.com/ ... Its boss. It seems much faster than Kazaa in general to me as well.
