It's been a while since we've had a pop thread.

In any case, I dropped by my local convenience store and found the latest Rockstar drinks: Mocha and Light coffees.

I've tried out the Mocha, and it was an interesting drink. It starts out strong...almost Kahlua strong, but it doesn't last. It tastes, well...like a regular iced chocolate coffee. I'm not sure yet about how it works as an energy drink, but I'll find out soon enough; I'm probably taking on a double shift today at work, so I'll need all the caffeine I can get.

Pepsi finally released Pepsi Max (Diet Pepsi with added ceffeine and Ginseng)...so I'm guessing that the energy drink boom hasn't officially died out yet. Which is a good thing, since I'm an energy drink junky.

Has anyone tried this out yet? Comments?

Energy drinks, smenergy drinks! Get some sleep when you are supposed to and you won't have to worry about it.

On a side note though.....Rockstar and Monster have a coffee flavored energy drink. They both work. I'm not a fan of energy drinks mainly because of the nasty taste that they all have. However these drinks are good, and like I said they work.

I still feel that the best way to energize yourself is a good night sleep. When the time calls though, I'd recommend either of the aforementioned. Especially when leaving Vegas after catching up on your sleep the laast night there.

Uhhh, that's what I was talking about in the original post. Rockstar's new iced coffee energy drinks. I don't know how long they were available in the US, but they were just released here in Canada.

Oh, and they work incredible well.

We first got the Roasted flavors in at the end of January. They're copy cats, the first three Java Monster flavors came out about a year ago, and they've since added like 6 more.
In the US, Rockstar is made by Coke, and Monster is made by an independent company called Hansen's, and distributed by Anheuser-Busch. Pepsi has so far failed to release an energy drink coffee, but they're the progenitors of iced coffee drinks anyway with the Starbucks Doubleshot and Bottled Frappuccino, so it's probably only a matter of time.

Uhh....I was merely attempting to include the Monster brand energy drinks to the coffee energy drink craze that you mentioned Vs. being redundant with the Rockstar mention....

I'm probably in the minority in that I don't drink energy drinks for the energy; I think some of them actually taste awesome (Rockstar and Monster in particular can be the nectar of the gods if enjoyed near-frozen, whereas it seems many of the other brands--not all, but many--share a similar aim to emulate a colder and less viscous version of cough medicine). I've had the a couple of the Monster coffee flavors and thought "ehh," but I'm not much of a coffee person. I too thought they basically tasted like the Starbucks drinks they're probably sitting next to in the soda aisle. I guess if nothing else they're a little cheaper for how many ounces you get.

I'm in Seattle and just noticed the 23 Monster coffee varieties (give or take) and the Rockstar coffee versions about a month ago.
