That movie was great, in that terrible sort of way. It's always worth sitting through if it is ever on just for the great quotes that came out of that movie. And who can forget about spelling "ABBACADABBA" all the the way down the test.
"If you meet a man named Don, address him by his last name."
That whole doughnut speech and the Dr. speech made that movie for me.
"I'm a street-walking cheetah with a heart full of napalm. I'm the runaway son of the nucleur A-bomb. I'm the the world's forgotten boy, the one who searches and destroys."
Random thoughts and impressions from a demented mind in South Florida:
From Papercuts: Oh come now. Adam Curry, Be-ow Bewammy, Karen "Duff" Duffy and Dr. Dre/Ed Lover, certainly were worse than Kennedy.
LOL - Papercuts and I disagree again.
Adam Curry - former Headbanger's Ball VJ. Automatic cool point from that alone. Never mind the parody commercial he did about his hair on NYC's Z-100 back around 1990.
Bill Bellamy - I'll agree with you on this one. The mothafuckin' Anti-Christ, and the first sign that MTV was going WAAAYYYY down the tubes.
Karen "Duff" Duffy - eh, she didn't quite do it for me, but not as bad as Kennedy.
Dr. Dre/Ed Lover - come on, man. Even if "Yo! MTV Raps" wasn't my bag, I still have a soft spot in my heart for all the stuff they pulled on those Spring Break specials.
From James F'n X: And I see nothing wrong with Kennedy. Then again, I like redheads.
Wait - Kennedy's a redhead now?? Damn. That might just be enough to kill my redhead fetish right there...
From evilwaldo: She ruled. Her whole gimmick as a VJ was to suck because if you ever got popular they fired you.
Ahem... that was her gimmick? She was intentionally trying to suck??? Uh, er, ahem... yeah... that has to be it... Then again, it explains why the hell Bill Bellamy was on MTV for so long...
From CRZ: Actually, back then I posted a whole SLEW of Kennedy-worshipping articles to various and sundry Usenet groups, but that seems to be the only one to have survived. This is probably a good thing.
Yeah, people usually don't like to be reminded of the dumb things they did while they were on strong illegal drugs.
Oh well... perhaps this is a reason to actually celebrate not having Game Show Network on my cable provider here in Miami... even if it means I still miss all those mad insane "Press Your Luck" and "Match Game" reruns...

Would that be, perhaps, the one with the guy who sat there and figured out the pattern to the board, amassing huge gobs of money along the way? Needless to say, he went over the winnings limit and was NOT invited back. ;)

They were going to do a movie about this, starring Bill Murray, production was to start in early 2001. But the distributor pulled out so the movie is in limbo now.
Click Here for the story of this movie. Pretty much saying what I said, but just felt like putting refrences =)
(edited by Net Hack Slasher on 2.6.02 0329) I don't get it, everyone loves rats, but they don't want to drink the rats milk?
I don't know, I'll give it a chance. Even with the gazillion ads I've seen for it and Russian Roulette, neither show can be as big of a letdown as the new Whammy!
And Kennedy didn't grate me as much as most of the other VJ's during the 90's did. I kinda dug her. But I was young and foolish at the time.
Click Here If you are up for a laugh, read this. It is from a UK football message board and a posters ex-girlfriend has decided to share her greviances with the rest of the board he posts on. Very long, but worth it.
