Team Tomko is in the ring, talkin' trash. Team Cage comes out and runs them off.
Consequences Creed vs. Jimmy Rave: This is for the final slot in the X-Scape match. Creed wins in about three minutes with the CreedDT, a hammerlock DDT. I've been looking forward to Creed's re-debut for weeks; this left me underwhelmed, but I'll give him some more time. I really liked him at Bound for Glory.
Jim Cornette is with the announce team and says that Matt Morgan is no longer part of the administrative team at TNA.
Scott Steiner & Petey Williams vs. Motorcity Machine Guns: MMG unveil lots of awesome-if-unlikely doubleteam moves, and Steiner eats a half dozen dropkicks, but Petey manages to snag the Canadian Destroyer on Shelly for the pin.
Steiner is pleased, but Williams has one more initiation to go through: Steiner shaves Petey's head! I assume at Lockdown Petey will have a bleached head and beard. And maybe a heart tattoo!
Oh, they also announce that there will be a "CUFFED IN THE CAGE" match at Lockdown! 6 teams -- 12 men -- 11 sets of handcuffs -- last man uncuffed is the winner! You know, for a "WTF RUSSO" gimmick match this is actually pretty straightforward -- I am, guardedly, looking forward to it. Teams will be MMG, LAX, Big & Little Poppas Pump, The Monsters, Rock n' Rave Infection, and Eric Young & Kaz.
Kurt Angle is out -- he wants Samoa Joe to sign a contract rendering legally binding Joe's promise to quit wrestling if he loses at Lockdown. Joe comes out (they re both in suits!) and signs! They shake hands and stare down.
Roxxi Laveaux vs. Angelina Love: Love has Velvet Sky with her, who tries to interfere but to no avail -- Roxxi sends Love careening into her, knocking Sky off the apron. Roxxi pins Love with the VOODOO DROP -- !! -- I have never seen that before and I don't think I can describe it.
(Wikipedia to the rescue! "Standing hammerlock guillotine choke dropped into a sitout position." Yay!)
Black Reign vs. Super Eric: Bleah. Eric wins with a Death Valley Driver. Afterward, Rellik attacks and the Monsters handcuff Eric to the ropes. Kaz is out, as is Rock n' Rave Infection -- Kaz succumbs to the numbers, but Super Eric SNAPS THE HANDCUFFS and saves the day. Well, I guess we know who's winning the "Cuffed in the Cage" match!
(I have to say that Kaz playing the damsel in distress role as a second banana to Super Eric makes me ill.)
Team 3D vs. Kevin Nash and Sting: About ten minutes of -- well, what you'd expect -- but it ends in a DQ as Team Tomko storms the ring -- Team Cage is out and I guess this was a forgone conclusion, really.

Originally posted by BigDaddyLoco"Cuffed in the Cage" you say sounds straight forward. I missed the show and don't get the concept.
Well, the way I'm imagining it (and I could be way off) is that there will be 11 set of handcuffs (with one end already cuffed to the cage) spaced around the ring. Your goal is to get each of your opponents cuffed to the other end, one guy per handcuff. The last guy who is not cuffed to the cage is the winner.
So it sounds not-too-convoluted to me, although we'll see if we can even tell what's going on by the end when there are 10 wrestlers all surrounding the ring.
Was this only an hour long?
No, but there were long promos and video packages which I pretty much skipped over.

Did the WWE really miss the boat on Tomko or is he just a the perfect fit for a big fish in a smaller pond? I think it's a little of both, but moreso the WWE didn't know what to do with him other than make him a bodyguard or a Batista Lite.

WWE have the mentality that anyone remotely "big" can be thrown out there just because of their size and not bother putting any effort into their character. When it doesn't get over (90% of the time) they lose interest and move on to the next guy. They did the same thing with Matt Morgan who to this day I can't believe they released

I don't really remember what Matt Morgan was like in the ring, since for me it was dwarfed by his horrible stuttering gimmick; but, if his promo skills he's been showing the last few months on TNA are any indication, he could really be the next big thing.

I agree, and posted almost this exact same post after last week's show. Let's hope they don't screw it up with retarded Morgan turn at the PPV tonight.

I think we're all underestimating the power of a Russo turn. It's not just going to be that Morgan or Nash turn, it's going to also be that THEY are the one that is dating Karen, not AJ.
It is the policy of the documentary crew to remain true observers and not interfere with its subjects.

As long as it doesn't turn out to be Russo himself, I'll be...well, pleasantly surprised, at least.

To be clear, I do not want to go back to the 1970s. I enjoy high flying moves and such and like a lot of the crazy spots we see in gimmicked matches. I like watching athletes be athletic, just in ways that I can believe it actually is happening.
