Well Ichiro was the best player on a team that won 116 games. And he was MVP, in his first season in American basubaru.
Would you rather have someone who had a slighty above-average career for 4-6 years or someone who was spectacular for 1.25 years?

Sasaki hasn't had the break down that Charlton has had. Charlton is part of those ledgendary Mariner bullpens that were famous in the late 90's, for blowing lead after lead.
3rd- I guess you could put Edgar there although his best years came after playing the position.
1st- Has had some solid players, but I don't know if one truely stands out.

I'll take the above average guy because you DON'T know how Ichiro could wind up a year or two down the road. It's far too early for Suzuki - but that's me.
After all, Brady Anderson once hit 50 homeruns in a single season...

I think the next wave of outfielders would include Phil Bradley (who led the Mariners in Win Shares 3 years in the 1980s) and, already, Mike Cameron.
It is scary that it took them at least 15 years to get respectable, six or seven years later than the jays.
