This is the first day of news from Wizard World LA. The second day will come tomorrow and will include live impressions from yours truly.

A Cup of Jeph
-Hulk #7-9 will each feature two stories, including an expanded look at the Red Hulk/She-Hulk fight from Hulk #2. She-Hulk will also look for some more female heroes to try and get revenge against Red Hulk.

-Aron Coliete (Heroes) will take over Ultimate X-Men starting with #94. Loeb teases that there will be big changes, like there were in Uncanny X-Men #94.

-Brian Michael Bendis and Butch Guice will be the creative team for Ultimate: Origins.

-Loeb will team with artist David Finch for Ultimatum, promising major changes for the Ultimate universe.

-Peter Milligan will be writing a Marvel Knights Silver Surfer project.

-Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale will do Captain America: White, a mini-series taking place in 1941. This story features Cap, Bucky, Sgt. Fury, and the Howling Commandoes. Very interesting.

-Joe Quesada notes that Loeb and Bendis have a November event up their sleeves.

-Season 3 of "Heroes" is still titled "Villains". File this under "blessing in disguise", because the writer's strike means Zachary Quinto no longer has scheduling conflicts with the Star Trek movie.

Spider-Man Panel (a.k.a. Single Spider-Man Appreciation Panel)
-April's issues of ASM will focus on Spidey's role with the Avengers.

-Dan Slott notes that upcoming issues will have "something everyone has asked for". I'm almost afraid to ask.

-Joe Kelly is writing a two-issue story this fall. A Brand New Day special will include a prelude to this story and attempt to flesh out new supporting characters.

-Editor Steve Wacker addressed a question regarding new continuity regarding the now-erased wedding by saying they will NOT address it. Ok then.

-Marc Guggenheim says that despite the negative reception to OMD, single Spider-Man is SO much better than that MARRIED Spider-Man.

-Bob Gale dodges the continuity question again by saying that anyone asking should just get a life. Charming. Dan Slott redeems things somewhat by pointing out that answers will come.

-An ASM Annual is coming from Guggenheim and Mike McKone.

-Wacker then goes on to Aunt May, pointing out that other media incarnations have Aunt May at the central of the Spider-Man mythos, but not the marriage. Because single Spider-Man is SO much better than that MARRIED Spider-Man.

-My interest picks up with the announcement of August's set of stories. Dan Slott's August issues will feature the return of Norman Osborn to the Spidey titles and he will bring the Thunderbolts with him. Yes!

-Lest anyone think Spidey can escape from the Secret Invasion silliness, there will be a month of tie-ins. Rats.

-Gale wraps things up nicely by saying that he had been bored with Spidey, but not anymore. Because single Spider-Man is SO much better than that MARRIED Spider-Man.

DC Nation Panel
-Dan DiDio talking a bit about the Fourth World and teases the coming of the Fifth World.

-DiDio dispels rumors of Batman and the New Gods as "silly".

-Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters will be in Final Crisis.

-A "cult fave" will return in the Reign of Hell mini-series.

-DiDio brushed off rumors of Geoff Johns writing for Legion of Superheroes, but said there be an answer at the end of the month.

-Manhunter returns in June. DiDio says it will be the "Law & Order" of the DCU.

-DiDio would love to see an animated Sinestro Corps animated movie. Considering how much clout he's got, it just might happen, so start getting excited.

-Ethan Van Sciver says there are many plans for Black Adam. DiDio notes that Mary Marvel will go from Countdown and go on to Final Crisis and Black Adam will be in a book everyone expects him to be in.

-The JSA roster will increase to about two dozen and each one will get a character moment.

-"Blackest Night" will be universal in scope.

-The Question will be featured in the first and final issues of Final Crisis.

-Frank Miller's Ronin will get an Absolute Edition.

-The new Batgirl mini-series will begin in July

As posted by It's False "-Bob Gale dodges the continuity question again by saying that anyone asking should just get a life. Charming. Dan Slott redeems things somewhat by pointing out that answers will come."

Or if you don't like his answer, you can stop buying the book and this assclown will be out of a job. (Did he follow it up by telling the person asking the question to go back to their parent's basement? Sheesh)

So far, the "new" Spidey just hasn't been doing it for me and even Phil Jiminez's art hasn't been able to get me into it so I'm probably dropping the book after the current story arc finishes. Getting ready to drop some other Marvel books too, but that's as much money related as quality related.

Are any of you getting the "Ultimate" books? I just get Ultimates and Ult Spidey, but I have to say that the drumbeats for Ultimatum are doing nothing for me either and will probably have me dropping Ult Spidey even before #125 if it gets caught up in some crossover.

It is a good rule in life never to apologize. The right sort of people do not want apologies, and the wrong sort take a mean advantage of them.

Fraction signing an exclusive makes me sad. Thank goodness there's an exception for Casanova.

you didn't like the Ostrander/Mandrake J'onn? I thought that was a pretty good series.
