I'll be taking a quick mid week trip to Philly in a couple weeks and wanted to know if anyone could give a couple ideas for something to do. Basically I'll have at least one night and one day to mess around.

I'll be staying a few blocks from Morimoto's restaurant, so anything near there would be best.

South Street has you covered for entertainment, food, and sights.

Or Penn's Landing. But Penn's is more enjoyable in warmer weather.

Two words- Geno's Steaks. It is close to the world famous Bingo Hall...er...the New Alhambra.

Besides that, South Street would be my choice.

I assume we're talking cheesesteaks at this Gino's? Cause yes, that will be a must stop.

Can't wait for this. Friend won a meeting, kitchen tour and dinner by Morimoto so that will be the highlight of the trip, but at least getting to a couple other things will be fun.

Thanks guys.

Cheesesteaks are better elsewhere but you might as well go to where Geno's and Pat's are. You can choose. But it bascially the center of the cheesesteak Earth.

Welcome home, men of the 2nd Bn, 127th Inf, 32d "Red Arrow" Brigade, WI Army Nat'l Guard! Good luck to those down south.

Run the steps at the museum a'la Rocky. The statue's at the base of 'em and to the right, if you wanna trash-talk at a stone Stallone.

And be prepared for a LOT of one-way streets. Philly's weird that way.

Be prepared to be one of many who do that. Every time I go there, it seems there are dozens of people running the steps.

For cheesesteak pleasure, I prefer Tony Luke's. It's near the stadiums, so that might be out of the way.

If you're into the museum thing, go visit the Franklin Institute. It's always got fun science exhibits, plus a great planetarium and an IMAX theater. It's very kid heavy during the day (field trips and soccer moms), but I loved it as a kid, and can even find fun there 20 years later. Take a walk through the giant heart.

I'm not driving anywhere, that's for sure. Staying with a friend at a hotel since he's working in Philly that week.

Not to mention I've kinda gotten used to this Texas weather so I don't know that I'll enjoy walking in the cold much. Definitely no stair running, though I'll probably stop by and say hey to Rocky.

Should be a fun enough trip. And then a month later I get to go meet Duff from Ace of Cakes for a big fireworks thing where he'll be making an episode. But that's in like middle of nowhere Kansas and I am already well aware there ain't a thing to do there.

I need to meet some locals and share our hatred of JD Drew.

I'd be more jealous if it was Gordon Ramsay, but still. Jealous.

Seeking helpful hints for getting rid of wee vermin from my apartment. Does anyone have any tips for effective ways to let them know they're not welcome? And please spare the "build a better mousetrap" gags. I've heard 'em.
