Great stuff. Question:on the song Say what you say Dre says:"Over 80 million records sold, and I didn't have to do it with 10 or 11 year olds"

Is that a diss on R Kelly for his statutory adventures or pop groups like N Sync for their main sales being youngsters?

I think its a little from column A and a little from column B.

But seriously,He's talking about N'SYNC,which is strange because some 10 and 11 Year Olds have probably bought his CD's too or their parents bought it for them thinking it was some nice album buy "a guy who likes candy so much he named his self EMIMEM".

I have actually heard that from a about 35 year old woman. I was like"This is the most naive woman in the world" then she looked at the back of the back of the CD and saw such song titles as "Kill You","Drug Ballad" and your favorite and mine "Bitch Please II".She promptly put it back down,It was HILAROUS.

And another thing if Dre said it,He might have been dissing Jermaine Dupri and little Bow Bow,who I wouldn't mind chokin' out.

What Eminem tells the media concerning his thoughts on young consumers buying his albums...

*finger wave, point to "Explicit Lyrics" label on CD (courtesy "Without Me")*

What Eminem is thinking when a young consumer buys his album (and don't fucking kid yourself, it's happening, waaaaay too much...)

"More money for me, more money for me, then his parents'll take it back, and it'll get resold, and more money for me..."

I thought Dre was dissing the Master P.s and Jermaine Dupri's out there.

I was dissapointed by the album. The first half is good, but it goes downhill pretty quick after that.

Question:on the song Say what you say Dre says:"Over 80 million records sold, and I didn't have to do it with 10 or 11 year olds"...

That was a direct diss on Jermaine Dupri. He isnt refering to little kids BUYING JD's albums, he's talking about kids BEING on them. KrisKross, Lil' Bow Wow, etc. Eminem even calls Jermaine by name in the song and there's short jokes a-plenty in there too.

I'm suprised no one has brought this up yet, but Dre and JD are in a little feud right now. Apparently, JD made some comments about Dre (and Timbaland) being "out of the game" and "falling off" (implying that Dre and Timbaland were past their prime, has-beens) and referred to himself as being the Next Big Thing.

So Dre and Eminem did that song on Eminem's album. Radio stations are now playing a response from JD called something like "Jackin for beats" where JD samples like 4-5 of Dre's beats and talks about Dre's sexuality, and Dre needing a whole team of other producers in the studio to help him while JD does it all by himself. I'm sure that song is not being released on any album or anything. While his comments about Dre are pretty scathing, it sounds like he just kinda threw it together in 5 minutes.

THEN Xibit jumped into it all with a diss song against JD (which also sounds pretty thrown together), complete with your usual assortment of short jokes, and challenges the idea that JD is "runnin thangs" in the south with this little gem:

"You aint rinnin shit in the south, you're a peon
Under-age, like that girl in the R. Kelly tape gettin pee'd on.
"

Ouch. Anywho, as far as I know, that just about covers it.

I got both disses on my DJ tapes about a month ago, so I'm way ahead of ya. JD's diss of em, dre and tim is on DJ Kay Slay & Cutmaster C "Get Down or Lay Down Part 1 1/2", whereas Dr Dre's & Em's (+ apparently Timbaland is in this, too) diss of JD, entitled Say What You Say is on DJ Clue (a.k.a. Earl Lee (Early))'s "Grand Theft Audio 3", although you can probably find those songs on other mix tapes.

The Say WYS song is pretty catchy. JD's diss is really lame. I hate JD. His voice is so annoying. As I am gay, I don't really find calling someone gay to be an insult. JD can't find anyting interesting to say about em and dre.

But in general, I find battles to be extremely LAME-EE-O, unless they are really funny and entertaining. I think they are all a scam to build up publicity. Nas & Jay-Z's battle was so fake and weak. Jeez, I would love to battle someone like DMX or Bubba Sparxxx, cuz it would make me much more famous than I am now,

SO IF YOU HEAR ME, DMX OR BUBBA SPARXX, GUESS WHAT? You Suck!!! Yeah, Such My Dich!!! How do you feel about that? You wanna write that down in words and play that on tha radio? Yeah, you don't cuz you too scared! Now, go run off and play with your Pokemon cards, boyyyyyyyyy!!

shit, I've been calling Bubba Sparxx out for months now, and it hasn't gotten me anywhere.

I think the lamest feud has to have been either Cannibus and LL or perhaps Petey Pablo and Russel Simmons(?). Was it those two? The best: Vanilla Ice and those guys that did Pop Goes the Weasel who's name eludes me at the moment. 3rd Bass? No. I don't remember.

Pop goes the weasel cause the weasel goes pop = 3rd Bass.

I like diss records for the most part. I think my favs have been "No Vaseline" (Ice Cube vs. N.W.A.), "Hit 'Em Up" (Tupac vs. Biggie and other assorted NY rappers), and "Marshall Mathers" (Eminem vs. XXL Magazine, ICP, and ??? I forget who else).

My fav part of the Vanilla Ice vs 3rd Bass' MC Serch was when Vanilla did a diss rap during an interview on either VH1 or MTV, and it was so TERRIBLE!! It was something like "I'm tha bomb.. you are long gone.. cuz I got the skills to pay the bills, and you are all frills. hey, third bass, I'll kick you to outer space.." something along that calibre.

apparently now there is also a battle between KRS-1 and Nelly.

also, you can get the entire eminem album zipped from audiogalaxy. i haven't done that yet, but it is tempting, esp if it really isn't that good. i already bought his first two (well, not counting infinite)

best,

Quote of the century.

Anyway, the Eminem show is definitely worth buying socetew, and Nelly is about to get nailed to the wall if he thinks he can get down like Kris.

i've had ether on my computer for about 8 months now, but it starts with gunfire, so I just can't get myself to listen to the rest of it, plus I heard all he really does is call Jay-Z gay, which I see as more of a compliment than an insult (well, an insult toward gay people.. well, not really), but maybe I'm just too militantly leaning toward human rights.

alright, i guess i'll buy the album, cuz I gotta support all the white rappers out there, since I am one myself. you'll see, someday I'll be openning for DJ FrostyFreeze...

best wishes,

What's with RKelly? Is he writing shit for NSync? I don't know who JD is, but I know Dre he's from my rap era!

Speaking of R. Kelly, the site wont let me start a new thread for some reason so...

CHICAGO (AP) - R&B star R. Kelly was indicted Wednesday on child pornography charges stemming from a videotape that officials say shows the Grammy winner having sex with an underage girl.

A grand jury charged Kelly, whose first name is Robert, with 21 counts of child pornography, said Cook County State's Attorney Richard Devine.

Chicago Police Superintendent Terry Hillard said FBI forensics experts determined the tape was authentic, and that other experts had determined the people on the tape were Kelly, 34, and an underage girl.

OMG, I just saw Eminem perform on the MTV Movie awards, and it was so lame and boring. Is he no longer controversial?? I mean, he just sort of walked back and forth and recited his verses. No topless dancers. No gruesome, bloody chainsaw killers.

I mean, sure if this was some other rapper, like Jay-Z or Nas, I would be satisfied with a mere stand up and deliver deal. But with Em, I always expected so much more, esp since his lyrics are always so cutting edge. Maybe he thought that since this was on national TV, he should err toward being too soft.

For the record, his performance at the Grammys (Oscars? Emmys?) with Elton John last year was also incredibly lame and boring, much like a match including HHH (either of them, esp when it's both).

And in regards to this:

Not everything has to be funny. Heck, somethings I'm happy being bored. But not when people are making millions off of debating who's got bigger chromed-out rims.

I dont think Eminem has to be controversial to be entertaining. IMO, he is the best lyricist out right now (maybe ever?) and doesnt really *need* bloody chainsaws or disses on his mom and Britney Spears in every third line to be tight.
