Wow, for the first time in ages I've watched enough recently to have a clue...and actually care.
Chris Jericho vs. JBL: Jericho, or else the last four or five months of waiting have been for naught.
MVP vs. Ric Flair, US Title Match: Flair, of course, probably by DQ or countout.
Rey Mysterio vs. Edge: Edge. Lock of the night.
Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy: I want to say Hardy. I want to say Hardy. I want to say Hardy. But Orton. I'd say hopefully not clean to keep Jeff's momentum going, but there have to be some clean finishes. Right?
JBL wins by DQ, building up to a gimmick match at No Way Out. This feud hasn't gone on long enough to be blown off just yet.
I'm going to go with Flair over MVP after a low blow. I mean, Flair has to win a match by pinfall at some point, doesn't he? And MVP doesn't lose any heat by getting punched in the nuts.
Edge goes over Mysterio with help from Ryder & Hawkins, though Mysterio has Edge pinned while the referee is down/distracted.
Jeff Hardy beats Randy Orton clean. Am I the only person that thinks they're building to a Hardy vs. HHH main event at Wrestlemania? Hardy beat HHH clean last month, are we supposed to believe that HHH is just going to let that stand? (Even
As for the Rumble itself, HHH, though I'm almost tempted to go with CM Punk (since he apparently isn't defending his own title) leading to a Punk/Edge matchup at Mania. I'm also going to predict that the greatest moment of this year's Rumble will be Big Show (presuming he's in it) seeing Hornswoggle for the first time. I can almost see Show laughing so hard that he can't keep everyone else from throwing him out.
JBL over Jericho Flair over MVP Edge over Rey Orton over Hardy Batista wins the Rumble for two reasons ... 1.) seems as though it'll be all RAW stars in the rumored Chamber match at month's No Way Out, with the winner getting a WM title shot. 2.) a Taker/Batista WM23 rematch at WM24.
JBL over Jericho through some sort of trickery Flair over MVP Edge over Rey Orton over Jeff I'll go with Undertaker to win the Royal Rumble, because Raw has more semi-competent stars to fill out a Chamber match than SmackDown does.
JBL wins after Jericho is DQ'ed for whaling away on him with a chair, or trying to hang him.
Flair over MVP via cheating (or, more accurately, cheating in response to MVP's cheating)
Rey over Edge via DQ to set up a quick rematch next month at No Way Out...hey, if everyone else will be in the Chamber, Edge needs something to do.
Orton over Hardy via cheating in a way that lets Hardy keep his heat. Honestly, Hardy winning here would be a better move for business, but the fact that he was suspended just a few months ago will probably cost him a title run. Yes, I realize the irony of saying this given that Orton is the champion, but Hardy isn't a company golden boy.
Undertaker wins the Rumble again
How you uh, how you comin' on that novel you're working on? Huh? Gotta a big, uh, big stack of papers there? Gotta, gotta nice litte story you're working on there? Your big novel you've been working on for 3 years? Huh? Gotta, gotta compelling protaganist? Yeah? Gotta obstacle for him to overcome? Huh? Gotta story brewing there? Working on, working on that for quite some time? Huh? Yea, talking about that 3 years ago. Been working on that the whole time? Nice little narrative? Beginning, middle, and end? Some friends become enemies, some enemies become friends? At the end your main character is richer from the experience? Yeah? Yeah?
JBL over Jericho through some sort of shenanigans, building towards another match next month.
Flair over MVP. Flair wins it clean, Figure Four in the center of the ring.
Edge over Rey through some sort of edgeterference.
Orton over Hardy, RKO, lots of Jim Ross yelling about how Jeff Hardy took Randy Orton to the by-gawd limit. Hardy pops up on Smackdown the next week and becomes part of THEIR elimination chamber match at No Way Out.
HHH wins the rumble. He's been in the position of being the heel who has to lose at the last few Wrestlemanias, but this time he gets to be the face who overcomes all the odds and triumphs against evil Vince. And that march starts at the Rumble. HHH eliminates Batista to win it. Surprise entrance of the Big Show pops the crowd, and CM Punk gets the "guy who hangs around for 50 or so minutes and is in the final four" spot.
Ladies and gentlemen, the following public service message is brought to you by your friends from D-Generation X, who would like to remind each and every one of you that if you're not down with that, we've got two words for you... Chris Jericho v. JBL: As much as my heart screams Jericho, I agree with InVerse; JBL by DQ. It gets us past the usual problem with return matches (that the returnee doesn't job) while still keeping Jericho strong (which he needs to be considering how JBL's had the advantage in the feud so far). They'll stick them into the Chamber next month and then do a Texas Bullrope match at WM which Jericho will win. I do need to add this, though:
Originally posted by hansen9jJBL: I'm pretty sure there are bigger plans for him than for Jericho
Stop talking the crazy talk. Jericho did not need to come back, and would not have come back unless big promises were made to him. JBL, on the other hand, may be a Vince favorite but still needs to prove he isn't one good shot to the back from being forced back to the announce table before they can make "big plans" for him.
MVP v. Ric Flair: Matt Hardy puts in an appearance, distracting MVP and the ref, and thus giving Ric Flair the opening he needs to pick up the clean pin with some grade-A-quality cheating.
Edge v. Rey Mysterio: I can't go with a schmozz/DQ ending here because Jericho/JBL is screaming for one and Orton/Hardy will end in one if they don't give Jeff the title, so I'll go with Edge winning clean after some help from the Rated R-my and the Guerreros, with Punk running in after the match to save Rey from getting barbecued.
Randy Orton v. Jeff Hardy: In my mind, Jeff has to win the title, and I've deliniated on why elsewhere. However, if they don't listen to reason, they still need to book an ending where Jeff goes over (DQ, countout, whatever). Any form of loss by Jeff (especially a clean loss) will do unspeakable damage to him.
Royal Rumble: The Undertaker wins for the second year in a row. It has to be a Smackdown/ECW guy because of the plans they've already made for RAW at No Way Out (and yes, Trips may be the boss's son-in-law, but I don't think even he can justify going over every main eventer on RAW in the Elimination Chamber next month if he's ALREADY got the title shot at this point - otherwise, Trips would be in the title match and not the Rumble, after all) and Edge/UT is the most logical and best main event (in terms of drawing potential) they have for WM. I'll be rooting for Punk, though - pretty sure they're not going to job him out for the third time in five days by hotshotting an ECW title match on the card.
smark/net attack Advisory System Status is: Elevated (Holds; June 18, 2006) While the switch from Cena to RVD should alleviate some complaints, the inevitability of the belt's return to Cena (note where Summerslam is this year) and the poor initial showing by the new ECW are enough to keep the indicator where it is for now. The pieces are in place, though, especially on RAW, for improvements to be made to the IWC's psyche in the near future.
Y2J Vs JBL : After every thing that has happend I say Y2J wins by DQ and it sets up a Bull Rope match at neather No way out or Mania.
MVP Vs Flair: Flair
EDGE vs Mysterio : I say edge cuz I don't see the point in rey winning here. I loved that he won the belt at mania but I don't think that after all edge has went through they would have him lose.
Orton Vs Jeff Hardy: I Want Jeff to win, I realy do. But I have to admit Randy has realy grown on me as of late and I enjoy him as champ. So I say Randy.
30 man Royal Rumble:
My oraginal pick is most likly not goina happen as I was going to go with Lashly. But I will say who I would like to see win and who might win.
I would like to see Tommy Dreamer win. and he can finaly win the ECW tittle at mania.
But more thn likly Triple H will win as he was sopost to win the belt last wrestlemania.
Jericho v. JBL: Jericho needs the win more, so give it to him. JBL can do a post-match beatdown or an attack on Raw to keep the feud going if necessary.
Edge v. Mysterio: Edge.
MVP v. Flair: I remain adamant that MVP should not lose the belt until Matt takes it off him. But on the other hand, having two MVP PPV matches in a row end with non-finishes would be kinda crummy, and I don't think this is the time or the guy to end Flair's career. Hrm. I'm going to go with the least of three evils and say DQ by Matt interference.
Orton v. Hardy: Whoever wins here is probably going to end up headlining Wrestlemania. And that's not gonna be Hardy.
Royal Rumble: I'm going with HHH here.

To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires, and lights, in a box.-Edward R. Murrow
- JBL over Jericho to continue their feud to MW 24. - Flair over MVP via pin fall with an assist from Matt Hardy to restart that feud. - Edge over Rey. - Orton over Jeff, but Jeff will be booked strong in the loss, a la That Guy against Angle at the 2003 RR. - HHH wins the Rumble, but I won't be surprised if it is HBK to set up a 3-way with Orton and HHH at WM 24.
"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."
Jericho over JBL Flair over MVP Edge over Mysterio Orton and Hardy to go to a DDQ Triple H to win the Rumble. Final four: HHH, Batista, 'Taker and Punk.
1) Jericho/JBL (Grudge match) - JBL by pin/use of tights.
2) Flair/MVP (Career threatening match/Not for US Title match) - Flair by DQ (Belt shot).
3) Edge/Mysterio (World Championship Title Match) - Mysterio by DQ w/Edgehead interference, leads to rematch or 6 man tag match for No Way Out.
4) Orton/Hardy (WWE Title Match) - Orton by pin with RKO after Hardy misses Swanton Bomb.
5) 30-man Royal Rumble Match - I'll break it down in 5 ways. First, the first 2...Hornswoggle and Khali. Second, the longest time in the ring...CM Punk. Third, the most eliminated...Big Daddy V. Fourth, the final four...HHH, Batista, HBK, and the Undertaker. Fifth, the winner...Undertaker over HHH, which will lead to UT/Edge at WM24.
Jericho wins and JBL goes back to commentating. Coach is brutal
Flair beats MVP, maybe with distraction from Matt
Edge beats Mysterio with help from the R-my
Hardy beats Orton. Hardy won't be the champ longer then No Way Out, though
Batista wins the rumble. This happens because the final three are Batista, Triple H and the Undertaker. Triple H and the Undertaker will essentially eliminate each other and wind up facing each other at Wrestlemania
I'm ordering this one because it's the Royal Rumble. I haven't watched regularly in at least two years, probably more. I have no idea what's going on aside from half-assed following online. Will that stop me from making predictions? No!
JBL defeats Chris Jericho through Treachery, leading to a blowoff at Wrestlemania.
Ric Flair defeats MVP because they're not going to "end" Flair's career at the hands of whatever an "MVP" is.
Edge defeats Rey Mysterio Jr., but the match is good enough that we all manage to forget how much of a foregone conclusion that is and totally buy into a possible title change.
Jeff Hardy wins the World Title. Because, even though I don't watch anymore, I know that I can't keep his figure on the shelf at my store (and he's the only wrestler I can say that about right now) so he's clearly mad over - and, logically, the WWE is going to eventually realize they put the strap on Randy Orton.
CM Punk shocks the world and wins the Rumble. Just seems like too odd of timing to have him drop the ECW belt and start an out-of-left-field feud with Edge if it isn't leading somewhere. He also has the longest time. "Diesel push" goes to the returning Big Show - clearing the ring of a ton of cannon fodder until he's finally stopped by Finlay and Hornswoggle. (The latter of which is my official second choice to win this match.)
JBL/Jericho: With all that buildup, surely they're not gonna job Jericho out in a big PPV. Right? Gonna go with Jericho.
Flair/MVP: Flair because, it's not WrestleMania.
Rey/Edge: Edge wins, with the Edgeheads (why don't they call them that more on TV?, Chavo, and Vickie in his corner, there's too much for Rey to overcome. The ending will be awesome.
Hardy/Orton: They'll give it to Hardy, but he'll lose it again next month in the Elimination Chamber.
The Rumble: He won MITB last year, and injury kept from letting him cash it in...so I believe it will go to Misterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Kennedy!...KENNEDY.
There is no retirement in wrestling. There's life threatening injury, there's death, there's you've been downgraded to working flea markets in rural Nebraska, but there is no voluntary retirement.
