So - in the end, *none* of the guys from the original group was worthy of a WWE contract? That's bogus. Jake and Kenny must feel incredibly used - I don't think that either of the ladies was better than Kenny, let alone Jake.

T & A programming returns - thanks, Vince.

T + A programming returns? Did you see Smackdown tonight? Add Dawn Marie to Vinnie Mac's creepy old perv list. Jackie will find her way to McMahon's couch within a few months.

That's one way of looking at it, and I'm not exactly about to say WWE wouldn't pick solely for T&A, but I think there's another way of seeing this.

Jake looked amazing, but he really seemed lacking in a lot of things. Kenny was pretty smooth, but sort of boring. Would the men's roster be appreciably improved by either of these guys? I can't really say I think so. Whereas Jackie and Linda, with the training they've likely done between the end of TE 2 and the current time could probably jump right into the division which could use some fresh faces. I thought the decision made some sense to me.

Oh, and didn't one of the guys get a develomental deal, the one who got injured midway through? His name escapes me, as I only saw like the last 6 weeks or so.

There's no way the guys will not continue in some capacity. I'm betting both have developmental contracts with WWE by the end of Summer.

All four deserved to win.

It just didn't seem so obvious for a while, I guess. While others are trumpeting the ladies' willingness to bump, I personally think that astrobstrd has a point - the only bumping Vince is interested in is a "bump and grind" on his couch. Given the state of the Women's division - and the general apathy towards it - I don't see either of them doing much more.

The two shows seem to have one distinct difference at this point in time, and that's their usage of the women. Raw is where the wrestling women work at, and that's one of the main reasons I find myself watching. The Vince show is full of leering and that sort of thing, partially because that's his character, and partially because...well we know Vince is a dirty old man. I think in time we see both the TE 2, and hopefully Nidia as well, on Raw which gets established as the women's division show, much like SD! is becoming the CW division show.

And, even if the two TE2 winners add some talent to the Women's Division, the Women's Division will still be treated like a bastard stepchild. And - unless the match is a "strip-em" match or a Spanking Match - the majority of the crowd will still use the women's match as an opportunity to hit the restroom or buy a beer. Only a few of us watch the women's matches to see actual wrestling (myself included) - and the WWE always finds a way to disappoint on that front.

I dunno, y'all, I think it's cool because it's interesting that the two winners can immediately feud with each other. I guess it woulda been neat to have a male winner to feud with Maven, but feuding with each other is just as good if not better, plus Maven's hurt anyway.

I wonder if Maven being out for a couple months impacted their decision. Since they don't have that ready-made feud, they didn't want a guy. I seriously doubt it though.

Besides, I bet the winners this time spend more time in developmental territories than Maven did.

Speaking of, is Nidia STILL in HWA/OVW?

Anyways, I think both of the ladies were chosen for a possible ramping up of that women's division the WWE still has. If there's one active division that needs more talent, it's that one.

Let's face it: This has to be one of the worst marketing decisions the WWF ever made (although it is swamped into a laundry list of many bad decisions). I just got back from my friend's house where a group of us were watching to see who'd win and be the next WWF star. Out of all 20 of us, I'm the only one of the bunch that could've been considered "Smart" fan material, and I don't even consider myself a "Smart" fan. I'm as much of a casual fan as the next guy. Anyways, when the show ended and when not one, but TWO girls won, the response was not favorable. The snack bowl was tossed halfway across the room, and a shoe hit the TV, knocking it to the ground. That's 19 casual fans, people who care zero about work rate, and people who liked the results of the first Tough Enough, all reacting negatively to the results. Now imagine that reaction times 100,000.

And from what I've seen not even 10 minutes after the results were announced, fans, both casual and smart, have gone up in arms protesting this. Let's face it: Women's wrestling is basically a code word for bathroom break. Their best bet was bringing in Jake and Kenny as the champs, that way not only could they feud with each other, it'd be a match people would watch.

All in all, the WWF would be smart to move fast and get Kenny and Jake under contract. I mean ASAP. Then they can just pretend that it was the plan all along to have all four get contracts, and everyone is happy. Oh yeah, and they should put Linda and Jackie on Smackdown! since the response may not be favorable for either of them.

That's my two cents anyways.

Now there's two petitions going for Jake - one on the Tough Enough Board at MTV.com, and one at PetitionsOnline (http://www.petitiononline.com/WWEte2/petition.html).

It also occurred to me - could this be a ploy by WWE? Could Flair come out on RAW, say that the TE2 choices were Vince's idea, and offer contracts to Jake and Kenny as co-owner of WWE and head of the RAW brand?

As far as Maven's injury being a factor, consider that one of tonight's choices already has an injured knee - and that's *before* reporting to WWE/OVW/HWA.

I thought it was a gutsy call by the WWE, though the point about fan backlash is well-taken. I'll be surprised if Jake doesn't get some sort of deal. He should clean up on the indy circuit if he doesn't. Kenny seemed like a solid guy, but he didn't have that intangible. Maybe the thinking is that both would have been lost in an already overcrowded men's division.

The more I think about it, the more I'm surprised that Linda got picked, though. Trying to beef up the women's side? Isn't this a slap in Nidia's face, who's STILL in OVW??? She was speaking with some sort of weird accent on the season finale... did she get a new nationality or something?

I'd bet the maven injury had a little bit to do with it... Maven vs Jake ("Chisel")next week at Smackdown?! Didn't Maven and Nidia appear the week after tough enough one?

And there's ANOTHER injury that may have played a role: Jazz (and Lita...). The women's division is lacking.. There's just Trish, Ivory, Molly and Jacquiline. Linda may be a strong heel in no time. Adding Linda and Jackie could give Trish more opponents to deal with.

That said, I was shocked that both the women won. I love the women's wrestling, so on one hand I was pleased. On the other hand, it seemed like Jake and Kenny both deserved it just as much. I'd imagine they were both quietly offered developmental deals or something 5 minutes after the show. If not, NWA might have a couple more quick signings to make, if they have trainers, that is. At the very least it'd be some good publicity.

Low Ki vs Kenny? Jake vs ...uh, Jerry Lynn? OK, probably not.

I feel like I should know this already, but how long does it take to recover from surgery to repair a torn ACL? I'd be quite nervous and a little upset if Jackie jumps right to the WWE with a torn ligament.

Seems like a bad way to get your career started.

PANDAS ARE PEOPLE TOO!!!!

Well like I said, it was a crap decision...but...

Lets face it, the Women's Division could really use some more wrestlers like Jazz. And maybe with some grooming...ok A LOT...Linda will get there...I can see it as smart to building up the Women's division because if they can keep it on the level it has been, AND surpass it, then we can finally have a good division. So in that way, its smart, and I can see the logic. Although we'll never see Molly Holly pull off a Burning Hammer like the Japanese females do, it'll be 100% better than gravy bowl and Kat Flash TIts matches.

I wonder if race entered into the decision. Not in a sinister way, but perhaps that they didn't want to go with two white winnners, or two black, just because of the possible perceptions. And maybe they didn't go with both guys to avoid charges of sexism.

Probably not, but it's interesting that Kenny, who was probably the best pure wrestler of the bunch didn't make the cut.

Linda seems to have the same personality deficiencies as Jake, without the marketable look. Maybe we just didn't get a fair look at what the contestents could really do.

Stlll, I'll bet Jake could go to NWA TNA and get an instant spot in their battle royal for the title on their first show.

Asteroid boy, you mean Kenny didn't have that intangible like Heyman talked about Jake Roberts in Beyond the Mat? Also, Nidia has always had some sort of fake accent.

The decision to go with two from the same sex should not have surprised us. They never billed it as one woman and one man. You would think that, since they started taping about six months ago, Jake or Kenny would have thought to ask if it was going to be one guy and one woman, since all of us in smarkville had pretty much realized that was a pretty good possibility.

I think this is a great decision. It immediatley injects new life into the women's division, although I wish they'd further help that division by capitalizing on Ivory's exposure and getting her in an active wrestling program. Also, it makes TE3 that much more interesting, because now the winners are so much more uncertain. If it were one guy and one woman, the obvious choices were Jake and Jackie (at least before Jackie hurt the knee). This makes it a lot more interesting.

Is it just me, or has Linda added a lot of muscle? And how much did Jake hurt himself by telling Kevin Dunn he's a slow learner? And Kenny saying that he's not going to say the contest wasn't about athleticism is like my mother saying, "I'm not going to talk about your father, because he's the kind of person that talks bad about people, not me."

Where was Hawk? Did anyone else think Snow looked pissed? And Stacy seemed to snatch all suspense from the second announcement by wondering if the pick was right. People, it's called rehearsal. You don't have to tell anyone.

But people, let's get to the real issue of tonight's show. What in the name of Mike Brady happened to Chris Harvard's hair?

BigSammy, maybe it does not occur to you yet that the WWF realized that it cannot afford to turn Raw women's wrestling into 'bathroom break', if they are going to show it on TV, with the roster so depleted (Hogan was suuposed to be on Raw, but oh well). But it will occur to you soon.

Jake and Kenny will be there soon.
