Senshi and Elix Skipper vs. The Motorcity Machine Guns: Apparently Senshi going to continue working on a per-date basis with TNA -- seems like it's working pretty well for him, as he's getting more TV time now than he ever did before. This is a really fun little match -- short, but nonstop. MMG do a couple of doubleteam moves I've never seen before -- how do they keep doing that? -- and pin Senshi with the superkick/enziguiri combo.

Christian Cage is out and threatens AJ Styles for turning on him.

Chris Harris is in Jim Cornette's office, complaining about his lack of TV time. Cornette gives him a match against Judas Mesias. Harris does not seem placated.

AJ Styles is with the Angle Alliance, and he is worried that Cage is going to kill him. Jeremy Borash convinces Styles to hide.

Judas Mesias vs. Chris Harris: After a minute or two, Judas spits a mysterious red liquid into Harris' face -- Straight to Hell -- and the pin. Very nearly a squash. Jim Mitchel, on commentary, says that they are going to reveal Abyss' latest secret NEXT WEEK.

(There are rumors a-swirlin' that Harris' contract expires soon, and he has signed, or is about to sign, a WWE deal. Dave Meltzer says "He may stay. He may leave. It's really up in the air.")

VKM vs. Petey Williams and Sonjay Dutt: BG James still hasn't decided who his tag partner will be for the title shot. Kip is actually dressed normal tonight. Halfway through the match, Scott Steiner sneaks down and exchanges his X-Division title shot for Petey's World Title shot. When Petey notices, he takes off after Steiner. (Boy, I really like how the X Division shot is just *barely* a step above being fired. You take it! No, you take it!)

VKM infighting allows Dutt to sneak in a rollup on Kip for the win. He's so happy that he kisses SoCal Val again! This match folded three non-related storylines into itself quite neatly.

AJ is hiding under a table. Eric Young suggests that he go hide out in Universal Studios.

3D and Johnny Devine are here -- they challenge MMG & Jay Lethal to a hardcore streetfight. If MMG wins, Lethal gets his belt back, but if 3D wins, the X Division is disbanded and all the X Division wrestlers go home.

Samoa Joe busts in on Kevin Nash, but Nash holds him off with a baseball bat, saying he doesn't work for free.

Booker T is at the hospital -- he's going to wait until Sharmell is all better -- and then he's going to tear Robert Roode apart.

Robert Roode is in the ring. He officially fires Ms. Brooks. He's going to beat her up, too, until Cornette comes out to put a stop to it. He sends Brooks to the back, where security will escort her out -- but Roode's #1 FAN FINALLY STRIKES, taking down Brooks on the ramp and beating on her. Chairshot! Roode introduces her as PEYTON BANKS.

AJ Styles is in the park dressed like King Tut. He agrees to go back for his "coronation" into the Angle Alliance when he hears that Mrs. Robinson Karen Angle wants him there personally.

LAX vs. The Rock 'N Rave Infection: The ex-Mystery Latina is now named "Salinas," which I assume is Spanish for "Shelly." Short match, but we finally get to see the Gringo Killa again! Jimmy Rave may be dead.

Tomko vs. Shark Boy: Shark Boy has a sling and a crutch. TOMKO SQUASH.

The Angle Alliance is in the ring, in tuxes. AJ sits on a throne and wears a crown. Christian Cage comes out and points out that Kurt Angle tapped out last Sunday while the ref wasn't looking. Samoa Joe comes out; he wants a title shot, too. Cornette comes out and makes a match: Cage vs. Joe vs. Styles in a three-way NEXT WEEK. If Cage or Joe win, they get a title shot at Against All Odds (February 10 on PPV!); if Styles wins, he can get a title shot -- or he can choose to allow Angle to take two months off from defending his title!

Gail Kim vs. Awesome Kong: Kong is out with ANOTHER MYSTERY WOMAN -- man, we JUST found out who the LAST one was! This one is wearing an Arabian Nights head wrap. My first thought was that this is an unnecessary and silly muddying of the waters, but if the rumors are true and it turns out to be

then I totally forgive them.

Good match. Gail Kim tries her hardest, but when she goes for a huracanrana, Kong catches her and powerbombs her -- doesn't let go -- powerbombs her AGAIN -- STILL doesn't let go - AWESOME (KONG) BOMB and there's the three count. AWESOME KONG is your new champion!

Nice that they made that the main event. I was all confused as to why they put it on TV for free -- I read that Gail Kim has some sort of injury and is taking some time off, so I guess that answers that. But why put it on the first show from this set of tapings? Why not put it on next week, and hype it this week? The Knockout Division has been going really great, so why not? Of course, if it went on next week, it wouldn't have gotten the main event slot, which I assume is going to the Cage/Styles/Joe match...so maybe it's a toss-up.

Interesting. It's hard to tell since we only have eyes to go on, but I thought it might've been

Rain's partner Lacey.

Good show. I know I step on the toes of most of the TNA hardcore by saying it, but AJ as the manchild lackey is awesome. He was so boring and bland before. Now, he's actually emoting and his promos aren't horrible (in fact, now he's usually the highlight). So this new character's been nothing but good for him. I love the whole Christian-Angle storyline so far too. It all makes sense (Christian dominating and being an ass with the Coalition, Angle coming in and being Angle, Christian trying to end that threat only for karma to bite him in the ass, Tomko just staying on his own, AJ with split devotions) and has been entertaining.

Man it's been awhile since I've seen a serious Booker promo. Good stuff, and from what I saw in the replays they showed the moment Sharmell got punched was a good one. Roode may be rather generic but he works in this angle. And it has to be said, Jim Cornette's the man. He's great on the stick, heh. And yay, we're going to get more Rain in TNA! I loved the little bit of business she pulled when there was a quick cut back to her and Roode after the whole beatdown went down ("Did you see what I did?" with this bright, chipper look on her face).

Ok, c'mon...that Shark Boy/Tomko match was funny. Tomko's expressions were gold.

I love the Dudley's and I love MCMG. So that's a win-win.

The women's division has been great as well. I actually think this loss for Gail Kim works well for both her and Kong. Now watching an ODB chase of the title should be rather humorous, heh.

EDIT: Can't believe I forgot Black Machismo!! That little promo was hilarious. When was the last time Wendy Richter was referenced on television??

They really seem determined to get Roode over as a huge asshole. "Prick named Bob" was a great line, I must say.
MCMG were also given bit of the star treatment as well, and that is a good thing.

I dug the show too, it wasn't perfect, but it was very solid from start to finish.

Black Machismo is amazing. Just as I thought he had stretched this gimmick about as far as it could go, he takes it up a notch with his recent 80s hallucinations involving Richter, and "Bollea" last week!

The main story -- Angle, Christian, Styles -- is the most boring part of the show, and unfortunately, it gets the vast majority of mic time and backstage skits. It's old. Virtually everything else has some measure of intrigue (although I don't care about the VKM strife).

The Sharkboy/Tomko match was bizarre. Why would Shark request a match against "the biggest and baddest"? In his condition? The bandages on his head fin were cute, and Tomko's attitude was just right, but this mix of comedy match and squash was just out of nowhere. At least the Disco Inferno match was to hype a movie.

Kim/Kong wasn't so hot. Big move, 2 count. Big move, 2 count. But the title switch is OK by me because, no matter how much I enjoy watching Kim, there's only so long she could fend off that monster. Now Kong can defend against the surprising popular ODB, and size won't play as much of an issue.

I did like Nash's last words to Samoa Joe as he left the room, and I liked seeing Dutt get a pinfall.

Oh, and I would also like to add that even though Roode still a bit bland, he was my hero of the night for using the term "horse-faced skank."
