Normally, I'm a fan of the Game Show Network. I don't go out of my way to watch specific programs, but when I have a reasonable chance at any time of catching Press Your Luck, seeing Monty Hall prove Ted DiBiase's pet theory time and again, or watching Charles Nelson Reilly chew up scenery on Match Game, I'm a HAPPY GUY.
But, y'see, they have a new show debuting next week called "Friend or Foe." It's a pretty lame concept -- basically, it's the Prisoner's Dilemma with trivia questions thrown in.
Who is the host of this new show, you may ask?
KENNEDY.
Yes, THAT Kennedy. If not the worst VJ in MTV history, certainly in the top three, and that covers a TON of ground. Someone who made Carson Daly seem vibrant and entertaining. I'm sorry, but I _know_ most states have laws on the books that make it a felony to perform CPR on her career and put her on TV again, and I'm writing to congressmen in the states that don't.
Game over, man... game over. Bleah.

I used to love the original Yo! MTV Raps.
Was Pauly Shore a VJ or just on MTV all the time?
Banded together from remote galaxies are thirteen of the most sinister villains of all-time: The Legion of Doom. Dedicated to a single objective: the conquest of the universe.
On a side note, between her departure from MTV and her re-emergence, she did radio right here in Seattle. And I see nothing wrong with Kennedy. Then again, I like redheads. And chicks in glasses.

Oh, and Kevin Seal RULES.
If you don't mind me asking, what digital cable to you subscribe to?
Time Warner Digital Cable in the Melbourne, FL area doesn't have GSN, yet they keep adding all these arts and womens networks - not that arts and womens networks are bad things in themselves but we have what, three womens networks, five or six Discovery channels, a good nine or so Cinemax channels, SIXTEEN HBO channels, yet no GSN? For shame.

Kennedy was good for *one* moment, IMO.
A popular magazine (Rolling Stone, I believe) voted Kennedy as MTV's Worst VJ. So they did a commercial with Kennedy "thanking" the fans by telling them "f*** you," bleeped out of course.

That movie was great, in that terrible sort of way. It's always worth sitting through if it is ever on just for the great quotes that came out of that movie. And who can forget about spelling "ABBACADABBA" all the the way down the test.

In the Philly area, Comcast has the Game Show Network on REGULAR cable as well as Digital.
For what it's worth.

Here in OKC it's Cox. Channel 257 (between techTV and BBC America). And we also have a buttload of Lifetime-type networks, too.
All of you who don't live in Boston, MA are lucky. Not only do we not have digital cable (we're on the perpertual "You'll get it in two years" comment) but we have the WORST possible service you can get. Normal AT&T would be fine, but I think we are one of the last places still using A and B trunks (if you don't know what that is you are lucky). We only get 1 or 2 new stations every 18 months, and some of them are put on the B trunk which means a majority of the TV's in a given house will not get it (supposedly back in the Cablevision days only 2 TVs were allowed to have both A and B for piracy reasons). And when there are more than 1 station added, chances are the extra stations are shop at home channels. We actually have GSN now all day, for 2 years it switched with the Country Music Station and if you worked, or went to school, you would only catch about an hour of GSN.
I'm just waiting for the right financial time and will be getting either DirecTV or DISH.
Actually, back then I posted a whole SLEW of Kennedy-worshipping articles to various and sundry Usenet groups, but that seems to be the only one to have survived. This is probably a good thing.

Yes, because those Danny Tario-worshipping articles of yours could prove to be very embarrassing.

We both know of someone whose embarassing Usenet posts survived and still make for good reading. Not you CRZ but someone who 'left' the net.

NYC is probably my favourite city. I've visited it about 6-8 times, and the liveliness of the city is second to none. I remember in the early 90s, I was flying overseas from Toronto, and had to switch from LaGuardia to Kennedy Airport.
