So, has anyone found out or said why Todd Collins (he of the 10 years between starts) was higher on the depth chart than Mark Brunell (he of the 2006 Opening Week starter)? As far as I can tell Brunell isn't hurt and is still on the Redskins roster. Did Collins simply outplay him in training camp?

He knows the system better. He was with Al Saunders (the Redskins' offensive coordinator) in KC as Trent Green's backup for a long time.

I didn't realize until this week that Washington's current Todd Collins was THAT Todd Collins. What's next, Vinny Testa...oh wait.

Brunell also seemed pretty much toast by the end of last season. He's probably still a Redskin because of the cap hit they'd take by cutting him.

I'd be surprised if Brunell would be re-signed. They should just make Randel El their Emergency QB as he was pretty decent at it in college.

Okay, that's kind of what I suspected, but I found it weird that I hadn't seen an article that spelled that out.

Key word there is combined rushing and passing. Broke them on the strength on his rush yardage. (I looked up his stats the other day, they were insane.) Whoever signs him and uses him right has a huge weapon on their hands.
