Edge and Christian on the kazooz was one of my favorite moments. The two of them together with Angle were priceless. I would love to see clips of them doing the kazoo work again, expecially to Angle's theme song. If anyone knows where to see them, I would be much obliged!

Great RAW.

"Marriage is like that show ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’, but it’s not funny. All the problems are the same, but you know instead of all the funny, pithy dialogue, everybody is really pissed off and tense. Marriage is like a tense, unfunny version of 'Everybody Loves Raymond', only it doesn't last 22 minutes. It lasts forever."

I have this sinking feeling that Hogan will get a Wrestlemania 24 paycheck to face Great Khali ...

Great show ... and we got to hear that kick-ass Evolution theme song.

This was the simple fun show it should have been. A title change, lots of old faces (Molly!), highlight clips, and a nice gesture to the fans to close the show.

I'm still smiling when I think about it.

However, I think this Kennedy experiment isn't long for this world. That crowd was DEAD for the main event match. No reason for Marty to put up more of a fight than Marella.

Was RVD announced to appear on the show? His return was easier than Jericho's, since he didn't have to establish an agenda. Just show up, kick Santino's ass, and soak the cheers.

And was this a one-time-only thing, or a return?

I thought "straight edge" folk do not have caffeine, but maybe it was a caffeine-free Coke?

I get the impression (I'm probably wrong) that straight-edge is kind of like being a vegan/vegetarian, in that how strict you are is kind of up to you. You can be a faux-vegetarian that doesn't eat red meat, a lacto-ovo vegetarian that only eats milk and egg products, or a full-fledged vegan that won't eat anything that comes from an animal.

The Rock declined the invite. I think he's officially closed the door on wrestling at this stage in his career. I remember him saying as much after Benoit.

It was bittersweet for me. It was great to see people I haven't seen in a long time but it also reminded me of the people who aren't around anymore.

Since I'm Straight Edge...

The main thing is no drinking, no smoking, no recreational drug use, and no conquestual sex. In other words, its abstaining from what seem to be the highest valued recreations of American youth culture, and in many ways American recreational culture in general.

Anything after that is branches off the trunk of a tree. Veganism, vegetarianism, caffeine, not taking Advil, becoming some sort of weird political activist, whatever... none have anything to do with Straight Edge other than someones personal addendum. So Boffo is basically right on with his analogy, tho he'd have to leave out the faux-vegetarians.

One thing to keep in mind is that Punk has let himself take in alcohol as part of his in-ring work in the past (see the Raven feud in ROH). So if it wasn't a Pepsi in his hand, its very possible that CM decided not to rock the boat, took a beer on the way out, and took a sip or two so as not to seem like a holier-than-thou sort.

< sarcasm>Or that evil Vince McMahon told him if he doesn't go out there and chug that beer that he will be jobbing to Big Daddy V until 2010.< /sarcasm>

Apparently the video was treated like the Zapruder film at work last night, because the place went turbo when someone was holding something that wasn't a Miller Lite (Regal's Coke). Anyway, after much wringing and gnashing all of those groovy things...

Nobody here could figure out what CM Punk was drinking.

As one of the great minds of our century stated, "It's just a show, I should really just relax".

Can we focus on the bigger picture, like Marty Jannetty's gut-covering wetsuit, Repo Man's gut-covering airbrushed T-shirt or Ted DiBiase's stealing the entire show for me with his laugh?

Well, Punk's reputation says that he may do good at keeping straight on three of those, he more than makes up for it with the fourth.

So many great fun moments, it's hard to name them all. But the highlights were:
RVD
Dibiase's laugh
Hogan's Savage impression
Gillberg
Sunny (man, she cleaned up!)
Evolution reunion.
Kane/Lita
and...

No Cena

So basically straight edge is just having morals but they gave it a fancy name to make themselves look cool.
