I finally found the time a few of weeks ago to get caught up on all the season 1 episodes of 30 Rock, and I haven't looked back since. If you're not watching this show you're really missing out. I thought The Office was the funniest show on TV, but clearly I was mistaken. Are there any other fans here? There must be SOME - there was already a 30 Rock thread icon.

On a somewhat related note, did anyone catch Frank's "KAYFABE" hat from this past Thursday's episode? Has that word ever appeared on TV before in any capacity??

I loved how Frank was wearing the Kayfabe hat right after openly discussing his 'feud' with Toofer.

Carville's cameo was awesome. Cajun style...

I was really not a fan of the show last season. I didn't like Tina Fey on SNL, and wasn't expecting much, so I half-watched the show. On the advice of my father, who has the same sense of humor as me, I started watching this season, and, while I don't look forward to it as much as I do the Office or Earl, it's a solid solid show that is making me laugh more every week. I'm sorry I missed season 1, so I might go back and watch them.

With Tbe Office in reruns, I've been catching 30 Rock and My Name Is Earl on the NBC website most weeks. I've been enjoying both.

Such an awesome show. Sucked for the first two or three episodes last year (and the last two or three, sadly enough) but everything else is spot-on.

My local video store has pretty much every TV show DVD except 30 Rock, which upsets me because I keep wanting to show my wife "The Source Awards" from last season.

I've thought 30 Rock was the best comedy on TV for a while. It's more of a basic sitcom setup, so it's not really something worth discussing here, similar to How I Met Your Mother (#3 on my list after the Office).

I would totally love a crossover where Kenneth from 30 Rock meets Dwight from the Office and they compare farms.

Lloyd: When I met Mary, I got that old fashioned romantic feeling, where I'd do anything to bone her.
Harry: That's a special feeling.

That's a pretty good burn, Patrice.

I wouldn't say 30 Rock is a basic sitcom setup, per se. It's not presented as a documentary the way that The Office and Arrested Development, the only two shows that can match its pedigree, were. But it's probably just as self-reflexive in terms of doing that meta-sitcom stuff that plays around with the conventions of the genre. Especially with product placement.

Joke for joke, I'd probably give it the slight comedy edge over The O. Office still has the advantage with the well-crafted story arcs. I feel blessed to have them both. Even with Scrubs lingering around as an annoying corpse, between 30 Rock, Office, Flight of the Conchords, my favorite season of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, the overlooked How I Met Your Mother, a rejuvenated Curb Your Enthusiasm, and the respectable MNIEarl, this was an incredibly deep year for comedy. Too bad all the fall shows are getting their seasons truncated.

I was, and still am, a huge Tina Fey fan and have been watching this show since the beginning. This show has gotten better and better each week since day 1. To me, this is the best sitcom on TV. My ideal comedy lineup (netwrok shows) would be

8 - Everybody Hates Chris
8:30 - My Name is Earl
9 - Scrubs
9:30 - How I met Yor Mother
10 - 30 Rock
10:30 - The Office

A dream come true.

"Marriage is like that show ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’, but it’s not funny. All the problems are the same, but you know instead of all the funny, pithy dialogue, everybody is really pissed off and tense. Marriage is like a tense, unfunny version of 'Everybody Loves Raymond', only it doesn't last 22 minutes. It lasts forever."

I caught the last few episodes of season one, then bought the DVD and was really impressed. I'm beginning to look forward to it as much as "The Office" now.

My favorite part has got to be Tracy and the movies he has starred in: First it was "This Honky Grandma Be Trippin'!" and yesterday we learned of another: "Samurai I-Am-Urai." Genius.

Don't forget "Fat Bitch" and of course the sequel "Fat Bitch 2". And the trailer for the Jefferson movie was pretty sweet, but sadly it never got made.

Indeed. Loved that episode so much, I chose my particular sig quote from it! Best episode ever though - CLEVELAND.

I have never been a fan of Tracy Morgan, but this show makes him as close to funny as he has ever been. It took a while to warm up to the show last season, even though I have much love for Tina Fey, for both her talent and her hotness. I didn't think it deserved the Emmy, however, as much of last season was up and down as it found it's way. But this season has been rock solid. Better than The Office? I wouldn't go that far, but it makes for the perfect hour of comedy. Or, at least it did.

Great show, but they're falling into the "guest star every week" mode, a la Will & Grace. (except funny)

Oh my. I had forgotten about lemonparty.org (no link, don't go there). They're probably lucky that the censors don't know what's going on.

I loved that the others being monitored alongside Tracy were "L. LOHAN", "M. RODRIGUEZ" (in Hawaii) and "C. BACCA".

I chuckled at that at first, and then I realized what they had done, and I laughed so loud I missed the next few jokes. I hd to go back and rewatch that scene later.

Fuzzy, thanks for mentioning the celebrities on the map. I caught L. Lohan, and meant to go back and rewatch that scene but forgot.

I think the last couple of episodes have seemed to be the tipping point for 30 Rock. I've had more people I know talk to me (due to my well-known love of Tina Fey) about the show in the last two weeks than I have in the previous two years. I dunno if it's because of other shows being off due to the strike or what, but it seems like the show has finally started to catch on in the zeitgeist sort of like Arrested Development. Hopefully (unlike AD) it catches on in the general ratings as well.

I saw the last two episodes online and enjoyed them both. I think I enjoyed the one from a week ago more though. James Carville's cajun wisdom was hilarious.

I have a hunch they used the old SNL trick of not explaining what a lemon party was to the network in order to slip that "What's a lemon party without Ol' Dick?" joke past the censor.

Also, Merry Luda X-Mas everybody!!

I watched this at a friend's house and I guess I should have insisted on seeing the special features. I thought the main chapters were extremely underwhelming. Some of the animation was nice. Some.
