OK, I am having a helluva time removing some Ad ware from my PC. I had been running Webroot's spy ware/anti virus program, but it couldn't quarantine one Trojan Hors and an Ad ware file.

I downloaded Norton 2008, ran it, and there is still one Ad ware file I can't remove.

WHAT NEXT?

He just said : Norton

But seriously folks
It really does depend on the infection, try something like stinger for common stuff.
Or if it gives you a name google it and check out some of the specialist removal sites

adaware is good (in my experience) for being able to remove ANYTHING. YMMV.

I'll usually use Adaware, Spybot S&D, Windows Defender, HijackThis! and a boot scan with an antivirus program. The combination of it all seems to get rid of nearly everything.

Safe Mode. Do the scan in Safe Mode. Upgrade all definitions and then proceed to run the scans in Safe Mode. Why? Because you can (in theory) be assured that only the ESSENTIAL Windows processess and files are running/loaded.

Merc, I* took your advice and it worked. Adware.Helpexpress.exe. I had to edit the registry to get rid of it.

Nastio, I'll take your advice as well.

Thanks all!
