Did Masters get caught AGAIN? What a tool.

I was really hoping Harry Smith would have more sense than to get caught up with the same junk that killed his father. This is incredibly sad.

Smith gets the big ole rookie push and then gets nabbed, he should know better.

Chris Masters isn't going to be on the roster much longer is he?

My guess is that these were the only two guys tested or there would have been a longer list.

Smith didn't even looked like he was in shape, I would have never guessed! Masters on the other hand, just screams 80s rasslin' crap, and is apparently a bigger dumb ass than he comes across on TV. Wouldn't this be his 3rd suspension?? Remember the infamous "How To Lose 50 Pounds in a Month Diet" comment by HHH last year?

I'm generally in favor of whatever passes for journalism/oversight of the industry, but Keller trying to make it sound like Vince gave him an exclusive is priceless. And I don't doubt that this resulted from normal testing, because from what I've heard of the methodology you have to be a fargin idiot to test positive.

Off the top of my head, ways to beat the WWE test:

1) Take HGH, which can't be tested for with the WWE urine sample method.
2) Take a 'designer steroid' which isn't a combination they look for in analysis, a la BALCO products.
3) Carry a masking agent in your bag, which can be taken if you discover that testing is going to happen at the arena that day.
4) Have a prescription from a licensed physician for whatever you're on, which allows you to skirt by for things like elevated testosterone ratio.

Masters certainly appears to fit the 'fargin idiot' profile. Certainly a surprise in a case like Smith, after being called up for all of two weeks...

(Although I don't know how long it takes to get the results back, could be Smith was tested in OVW. And this doesn't actually say if this was even from a drug test, vs something like the suspensions from the Albany internet prescription investigation.) Maybe that's something they want to clarify in the future. Or maybe not, as it appears they are going to squirm off the hook of a Congressional Hearing.

Well, do we know that it was steroids that Smith was caught with? Could have been pain killers or muscle relaxers. Either way, it's pretty foolish of him seeing as how his father died.

Of course Eddie's death did nothing to stop Chavo from poisoning his body.

The key word is alleged. The don't seem to be shy about suspending people for this and WWE probably has details that aren't being released to the public. Orton could have gotten the belt because he is a good performer.

I can live without Chris Masters. So far, Smith has only been on television for two weeks and the only thing I'd miss is his connection to his father.

Yes, but apparently the suspension in the summer of '06 doesn't count as a "strike" in the Wellness Policy. The Signature Pharmacy suspension in September was for 30 days (strike 1) and this is a 60-day suspension (strike 2), so according to the policy he gets one more violation before he's released.

Which raises an interesting question: if someone like Masters is fired due to Wellness Policy violations, at what point does the policy allow WWE to consider rehiring him? And in such a case, would the rehired wrestler get three more strikes, or would he be back on a zero-tolerance basis?

IIRC Masters went to rehab for painkillers. He never failed a drug test so it's not a strike.

The flip-side is that when Masters returns after the steroids, will he still be called out and mocked on TV for any "weight loss?"

Well of course. How will anyone ever learn to stick to the loopholes if they just let Masters take the easy way out and stop taking drugs?

I find Chris Masters entertaining in that everything that he does gets made fun of and I enjoy seeing this.

I will probably miss him when they finally fire him, cause there won't be a Chris Masters to laugh at.

Bryan Alvarez on a F4Daily starring our very own Cubsfan quotes a "person in the know" as stating that there is "no fucking way" that Masters has not had three strikes by now.

1) painkillers (like F'N Shapiro said) - no strike

2) on the Signature Pharmacy list (violation) - strike one

3) Failed test (violation) - strike two

Not as dubious as Orton's record of "no fucking way", but it's - based on the rules and what has been disclosed - probable and possible. And fact, apparently

I had it in my head that Masters had gotten a 60 day suspension for the Signature (or at least disappeared for that long), but he came back the day after Umaga and Kennedy, so clearly I'm an idiot.

On the bright side of Masters: If they are holding a War Zone X-Mas this year, he is on the sidelines when they go. Keep him around just to have someone to pad the lists and to say: See, we are continuing to test. Really, no one else tripped up this time.
