Normally I don't go out of my way to do cheap plugs (my sig notwithstanding), let alone start a thread plugging something. However, since it involves not one but TWO members of The-W.com and actually discusses this fine board and all its fine members, I figured I'd share.

For those curious, Zed gave the okay. What he actually said was "knock yourselves out," but since we're not crazy pro wrestlers, we just recorded a podcast instead.

Living Under Marshall Law - ROH in Manhattan Preview with Brian P. Dermody
(11/02/07) This Saturday features the first ever GHC Title defense on American soil. So of course, host Marshall and special guest co-host Brian P. Dermody are going to be there, but not before making a bunch of gay jokes and dorking out over the weekend's festivities. Join us as we wax poetic about The W, run down the full card of the show, reveal who we'd bring home if we were ringrats (the answers will shock and delight you), and discuss the alleged benefits of drinking Luke Cummo's pee. And be sure to check out KevinMarshallOnline.com, The-W.com, and bpd's blog on livejournal (bpdermody.livejournal.com). You know you want to.

Links mentioned in the podcast:
- Magnum Tokyo's entrance
- One of his more recent entrances
- BxB Hulk's entrance

Please note that due to language, this podcast may be considered NSF"W". GET IT?! W! HAR!

Quite a rambling podcast. You guys like to say the F word a lot.

The real question is who is ignoring you guys. I think an investigation is in order. I tuned out most at the ROH stuff. I think we just need a thehyphenw.com podcast. Just so we mention toptenpro occasionally.

I noticed that as well. Usually I can curb my language. I blame it on having been awake for about three days.

And yes, rambling. Even more than usual for me. That's what happens when the format he sent me got lost in the ether of the Internet.

Count me in - as long as we do a dramatic reading of the "W"oman sucks! thread.

I listened to the mp3 this morning at the gym. I don't remember anything that was said about wrestling, but the rest was entertaining. Weird to hear audio content referring to this board which exists in a text-based world for me. When TopTen was mentioned, I was so amused that I almost dropped a dumbbell on my foot. We need some dramatic reenactments of the best threads in the board's history. That would be killer.

EDIT: I must have read Leroy's post, forgot about it while I typed, and then subconsciously spit back out his idea at the end. But that's two votes now. DO IT!

Yeah. Like Brian, I was operating on little sleep this week and I think we wrapped it up somewhere after 1:30am. Also, I have a problem in that I try to watch myself as best I can, but where I lived as a kid gave me some bad habits and the mouth of a sailor.

I totally should have noted it as NSFW because of the language. Fixed.

And I'm totally down for dramatic re-enactment of threads at some point. I think the most fun would be assigning voices to folks who, due to the nature of this thing, we haven't ever heard.
- CRZ would have the bellowing voice of God.
- AWA would have a voice reminiscent of Jimmy Stewart.
- SPF would talk like Barry White.
- "brokenwings" in the "W"oman sucks thread would talk like Cher.
- Top Ten Pro would talk like a total scene kid.

Man, that would be awesome.

I wish I had time to listen to this now, but I'm almost off to ROH in Philly tonight. But I will be in NYC for ROH tomorrow, so I'm seeing both nights of Misawa. Hopefully I can listen to this podcast tomorrow before the big Manhatten Center show.

AWARulz couldn't be portrayed as Jimmy Stewart-esque. Between that Dick the Bruiser avatar and old school Georgia Championship Wrestling signature, I've always heard him as Gordon Solie.

Solie with attitude. The Bruiser sounded a lot like HBK, frankly. But when he ran out of words (I don't think it was scripted much in those days), he's just start slapping the hell out of the Crusher. So, go Solie, LOUD, after 30 or so Cigars. Brian's got plenty of those.

I want to talk Grimmis' voice: Rush Limbaugh, only more sure of himself.

And Guru - I think we go all Ted Dibiase with him, cause he's a SoCal relocate, but is the Money man here

Yeah, right. If any wrestler portrayed me, it would have to be Hugh Morris

I always envisioned Grimis as more hyperactive in his voice, like he was right on the verge of slapping a dumbass liberal and utterly exasperated that people just don't see how right (pun mildly intended) he is.

As for the Jimmy Stewart voice, I'm pretty sure that's gotta go to Pieman :)

Podcast nerd question here, but what software do you use for recording?

To tell the truth, I don't even know what we use for Hock Show or Three Robots, but I'd be curious because we have issues with ours occasionally.

I was on this fence with this all day long and all night strong, but now it being so late/early and my being drunk, I think that pieman should be played by Abe Vigoda. (wait for it...)

Cause he's old. Har har.

But I was also thinking David Cross's short lived liberal stereotype on the "Colbert Report" for Ol Fuzzy Bastard and Sean Hannity except moreso for Grimis.

Umm . . . wasn't the first ever GHC Heavyweight Title defense on American soil a year ago? Marufuji vs. McGuinness anyone? If it's not by weight class, KENTA vs. Low Ki in 2005.

First things first, THE FOLLOW-UP:

Living Under Marshall Law - ROH in Manhattan Review & Items of Interest with Brian P. Dermody
(11/06/07)
I'm back from New York, which means it's time for another edition of Living Under Marshall Law. Brian P. Dermody joins us as we discuss the Ring of Honor show we attended on Saturday. We also discuss Moolah's passing, DH Smith lasting a whopping two weeks with WWE before being suspended for Wellness violations, JBL's wife destroying the American economy, the greatness that is Bobby Dempsey, and much more. It's an hour and thirty minutes, but that's to be expected when we discuss a wrestling show that went over FOUR HOURS.

You're welcome! Unfortunately, your refusal to come to the Dark Side (KevinMarshallOnline.com) has resulted in me appointing Llakor the site's official Ambassador from the Great White North. You snooze you lose, buddy.

Also - we could have eaten at White Castle on Saturday night, but didn't. So we did, unlike you, have the option to eat at White Castle and didn't. JUST TO SPITE YOU!

Indeed there is. CRZ appeared on the now-defunct Joe Vs. the World podcast (http://www.joeversustheworld.com) in a very enticing, entertaining, and physically arousing episode.

And speaking of Joe...

...per Joe Gagne's suggestion, I use Skype for the computer-to-computer conference (you can also pay the $30/year to be able to call people's phones).

I use Pamela, which is a Skype add-on, to actually record the calls. She has the most adorable British accent, which on a woman makes me melt. Unfortunately she don't come completely free - you can only record for fifteen minutes at a time with the free software, but for a small one-time fee (I believe it's $15 or $20) you can record to your heart's content for as long as you'd like, uninterrupted.

For editing, I use the free Audacity software. I'll try to find direct links to all these programs when I get home from work tonight. For now, they're pretty easy to find on Google IIRC.

Four hours of listening is a long commitment. I have trouble making it past 45 minutes on most podcasts.

Oh don't misunderstand, the ROH show went four hours. We were just over an hour and a half.

But most of that is Bobby Dempsey worship and parenting tips.
