Well, if you're Rich Franklin, how do you feel? It was obvious after tonight that he is without a doubt the second best middleweight in the universe. Sadly, it is his fate to have to fight the best. Anderson Silva is now officially the scariest person in the word. On an unrelated note, Tim Sylvia is officially the boringest person in the world.

As scary as A. Silva is in the cage, he's got to be the classiest fighter I've ever seen. He showed he utmost respect to Franklin last night. It seemed like he could have finished that fight at least 2 times before he actually did, and it seemed like he was trying to let Franklin at least give a good show to his hometown. There was no big victory dance after the win, and when his name was announced, Silva wouldn't even look up, as if to not take anything away from Franklin in his hometown. Then the whole deal with putting the belt on the ground and bowing to Franklin. It is great to see an amazing fighter holding onto some of the traditional, respectful aspects of martial arts.

If Silva spoke fluent English, he'd be a good choice to replace Couture as the 'face of the UFC' type guy.

And yeah, Sylvia is boring, but he gets the job done, and that's all that matters to him. It's too bad when a guy like that doesn't like to finish fights, because he's got the goods to do it. Vera, however, was just as much to blame. This was supposed be to be his shot to prove himself. He said he was going to stay out of range and cut Sylvia down with kicks. Guess he forgot.

Lloyd: When I met Mary, I got that old fashioned romantic feeling, where I'd do anything to bone her.
Harry: That's a special feeling.

Vera did try to stay away for a while, and did connect with the kicks whenever he could separate himself from Sylvia. Vera also apparently broke his hand in the first round, which was certainly a factor in his loss.

Boy, i can't stand watching Tim Sylvia. He is to MMA what the neutral zone trap is to hockey. If he does get into the vacant HW title fight, I hope Nog destroys him and gets him out of the title picture once and for all.
