According to a source closely associated with the Cow Palace convention this weekend in San Francisco, Larry Pfohl, aka Lex Luger, suffered a stroke in his hotel room this morning and currently has no feeling from the waist down. More to come.

Whatever you think of Lex Luger, that subject line's pretty tasteless.

I have to agree. Was the cheap shot really necessary?

Plus, wasn't Luger already walking with a cane lately? I can only wish him the best at this point.

I was a big fan of Luger in the late 80s and early 90s. He has unfairly been on the receiving end of a lot of bashing from his peers and internet fans over the years. I know he abused his body during his career, but I still wish him well.

Agreed. This was weak and uncalled for. I wish Lex all the luck in the world.

With the importance of his involvement with Elizabeth's death, I think this thread title is perfect. I have no sympathy for the man.

Meltzer posted an update and indicates that it's more likely Luger suffered a heart attack than a stroke.

Heart attacks are a terrible thing, but in this case, it's worlds better than a stroke. While a heart attack means a restricted diet and no roller coasters, a stroke could permanently affect the brain and would have been much more devastating.

My girlfriend just learned that her stepmom (38 years young) had a stroke two days ago and she can't blink her eyes now.

While what happened to her was tragic, unless he held her down and forced the drugs into her body, there is only so much blame I would place on Luger. Sadly, she was a grown woman and made her own choices. Maybe he was a bad influence and introduced her to hard drugs, but I doubt it, considering the peak of her career was in the wild and crazy 80s. Either way, she, like all of us, make our own choices and must be held accountable for those choices. I was as big a fan of her as anyone, but I don't blame Lex, or Savage, or anyone for her death.

On an interesting sidebar to this, I get a newsletter (yes,l it comes in the actual Mail) from Chicago District Evangelical Association - a church planting group based in Chi - they are planting a church in Merrillville, Indiana called Impact Christian church (the Cross is the T in Impact in the logo - cool, huh?). Anyway, at their first service, on September 30, Luger was there and "gave his testimony on the difference that Jesus has made in his life since he became a Christian"

I wish Lex all the best, personally.

Crappy title...really. I am really sad to see this happen because I really did like Luger in the late 80's and definitely during his run in 96-97. I hope that he gets better!

It's weird how a murder / suicide can change perspective. Not that Lex deserves to die, much - but, if he would have croaked - and if I didn't pull the plug on the Dead Pool at the right time - I would have been out about 3 grand at this point

I was there. I saw him speak.

It looked pretty unrehearsed, but it sounded genuine to me.

I don't think he's the same guy he was just a few years ago.

And yeah, he was already on crutches. Whatever some people in this thread may have thought of him in the past, I don't think it's particularly nice to take glee in the man's heart attack.

Speaking of dead pools, flea, why are you still pimping that dead site in your sig anyway?

CRZ had to edit my profile and close my table for me before, but I did this one all by myself with Frosty's help!

Hey wait if you were still doing the dead pool and he died, wouldn't you just be out the twenty dollars or whatever? Or did one of us forget what your rules were for that thing?

Oversight on my part. Corrected.

Long story short, I upped the payout to TWO HUNDRED CASH to someone who picked anyone who dropped dead. And wouldn't you know

Eddie Famous, I'll get back to you

Whether you blame him for her actual death or not, there's still the fact that he beat the crap out of her about 2 weeks before it happened to justify any lack of sympathy one may have for him.
