I think I've officially run out of reasons to watch WWE. Not that I'll actually stop watching, not right away anyway. I've been cruising in "I'll keep watching in case it gets good again and something cool happens" mode for a few years now. I've been DVRing RAW for the past few months, but after FFWDing through all the dumb parts it only takes me about 20 minutes to watch the rest of show. Smackdown only takes about 10. Yawn.

So is that when the no-compete clause starts? I dont think I've ever seen one of these announcements mention a date before.

October 27 might be the end of the rumoured 60-day drug suspension? If so, then yeah, that's when Booker's no-compete would start... assuming he actually signed that contract renewal this summer. If not, he could be a free agent.
Of course, Booker's talked about retirement for years, so there's plenty of reason to believe he'll just ride on into the sunset.
The sad thing is, his last feud with Triple H may have been the best stuff of his career. There's no reason he shouldn't have been given a main event program, especially considering the astonishing number of injured headliners. But hey, they've got Randy Orton and his dizzying array of headlocks!
I am at least glad the guy just finished his best year in the WWE on the way out. He will be missed. So isn't his real name Booker T Huffman? Couldn't he still be Booker T if he did go to TNA? I think he will retire and run the school, but he may want to show up for a spot or two down the road.

It's not like WWE canned him. He walked away. Bringing Randy Orton into this discussion is kinda irrelevant.
Good luck to him. I hope he walks away and lives off his riches. The indy scene wouldn't do him justice, and TNA has enough problems without trying to shoehorn another near-retiree into the ME.
To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires, and lights, in a box.-Edward R. Murrow
Anybody know what Stevie Ray does these days? Maybe one day there will be a "Harlem Heat" Reunion? Anyway I'm sure Booker T. will make his way to TNA with all the other WCW/WWE rejects.

They run a wrestling school together, down in Texas I believe. And Booker also runs a promotion (PWA I think), and one of the reasons he was upset at WWE was that they gave a developmental deal to a promotion in Florida, and not Booker's.

I had been taping them and not watching them for a while. Now I read PyroFalkon's All You Need to Know column over at Scaia's site to see if I should go back and watch anything. I haven't found anything for the last few weeks, but like Frosty, I keep holding out hope for something good to show up. Maybe Blackman.
CRZ had to edit my profile and close my table for me before, but I did this one all by myself with Frosty's help!
Also if no one has noticed, click on the "2" in "October 27" and you get a Save_us.222 ad. Some reason it won't play for me but I am guessing its just the one from RAW.

If you go through all the most recent articles on WWE.com, whereever you see either the number '2'or it spelled out 'two', it is a link to the ad.
Kinda sneaky, so don't get your hopes up that it for them bringing Booker T back, cause it's not.
Thinking back on Booker's career, I am reminded of the opportunities he was given by Vince Russo. After the initial GI Bro crap (I heard that Booker supposedly wanted to do it at the time) Russo pushed Booker to the moon, and totally made him into a main event star. While most of his run booking run in WCW was bad, this is one thing that he did right. As a fan of Booker T, I think Russo deserves credit for that. Most of the Internet community likes to bash the guy, but I remember plenty of cool things that he did in WWF and yes, in WCW.

Cut it out already, will you? It doesn't get funnier the 1000th time you hear it.

How's this for funny? From the other thread re: Daivari
Interestingly enough, I just saw him Wednesday night filling up his Hummer at an Exxon station off I-45 here in Houston. I guess he must live here.
You sure it wasn't a FULL SERVICE gas station? Ha ha ha because his new job is pumping gas and Joey Styles still has a job...hahahahaha

Cut Joey a break. He has those commemorative coins to fall back on once Vince fires him. OH MY GOD, the coins are hardcore.
Sting and Goldberg's heel turns were very awkard and pointless. I dont even really remember HOW Sting turned heel. Didnt hit some babyface with a belt at a PPV?
