on the shelves * FIFA 08 - the reviews I read say it's a definite improvement over FIFA 07, but differ about how much more polish it still needs. Game features online league play, so that's another franchise EA's managed to figure out how to do that with while still not having it for Madden. There's also going to be online psuedo-Superstar mode (it's not fleshed out in the game), but it won't arrive until a patch that's yet to be released. You'll have to watch the store for it. * Folklore - adventure/rpg/fantasy mix; 1up gives it a "good" review but warns "may well bore the average player before reaching the halfway point" * Sega Rally Revo - racing. Looks pretty, very limited. It's an arcade game, basically - fun but not deep.

Next week: the next Tony Hawk and a re-release of the last Elder Scrolls game.
It's the first must-buy game on the PlayStation Network for anyone with an inventive bone in their body, with rock-solid shooter roots to dispel any pretense of non-gamelike artiness-for-the-sake-of-it
