Tony (muthafukin!) Almeida isn't quite as dead as we were lead to believe. After getting blown up and shot on more then one occassion, we were made to believe Tony was done in with a lethal injection in season 5, but like a Phoenix, he has risen yet again.
I really like the TV show about the impossibly attractive people who crash on a deserted island with a giant monster made of smoke that eats trees. I really like the TV show about the impossibly attractive people who transport themselves through time and paint pictures of the future and conjure evil Ali Larters. I even really liked the TV show where the President and his staff were intelligent, passionate people devoted only to the greater good of the American people.
24 is so fucking retardedly absurd that I can't even watch it anymore.
Great...24 joins the same level as soap operas on the believeablity scale.
I've seen 16 movies so far this year: Because I Said So - (2*); Borat - (5*); Children Of Men - (4*); Die Hard 4 - (5*); Evan Almighty - (3.5*); Fantastic Four 2 - (4.5*); Hairspray - (5*); Harry Potter 5 - (4*); Knocked Up - (4*); The Last Mimsy - (4*); Mr. Brooks - (4*); Resident Evil: Extinction - (3.5*); Shrek The Third - (3*); Spiderman 3 - (3.5*); Superbad - (1*); Transformers - (2*)

Now announcing for the NBWA! www.wdws.com home of DWS Sportsnight and downstate radio home of thecubsfan!
The creators of the show are huge GOP backers and the show IS on FOX.
The world of 24 is EXACTLY how George Bush and his cronies want us to believe the world is like, with Nukes going off in our country at any moment and foreign spies wanting to do us harm living next door and across the street from you.
I'd wager this was the top rated show for the White House staff for the past six years.

This is the worst idea ever. Once you're dead on 24, you should stay dead.
24 has switched between right and left wing views on politics throughout the seasons. They've depicted corruption in the government just as much as they've depicted evil bad guy terrorists trying to kill us.
Well they are the only tv show that was invited to speak to Rush Limbaugh, Michael Chertoff, Clarence Thomas, and The Heritage Foundation (washingtonpost.com)
Interesting note, in this article, written back in 2006, it mentions
Are you familiar with the character with Jack Bauer? He's, like, the main guy on the show, been dead a few times, and made the show great by coming back from the dead to kill everyone. It's pretty awesome and the show wouldn't work with out it.
We've seen plenty of other CTU agents have Jack-like moments, most notable Tony's gunfight bailout of Jack in the season before his death. Maybe he's got Jack's death avoidance ability too.
The problem isn't as much bringing Tony back as not leaving themselves a way out of the death scene - the writing flaw was not putting a backdoor where it was quite likely going to be needed. (They figured it out with Logan this season.)
The big picture flaw was the entire strategy of killing off the original characters people actually cared about and to make room for replacements which would better fit the subplots they wanted to do - bringing back Tony is as much a "oops, sorry" as they're liable to say while the show's still in production.
Bringing Tony back is desperate move and a cheat, but if they can tell a better story with Tony alive, then it's fine by me.

Yeah, but that's because Rush and those guys like the show. I remember when Team America came out, most people right and left thought the movie was totally pro-right, because they blew up Michael Moore and made fun of liberal actors. Really, I think they were just making fun of actors and people who use the media to promote their views. They weren't exactly too friendly to the government and the right wing world policing strategy in that movie.
Personally, I think 24 has done a great job of showing both pro-left and pro-right views over the years, even in their shittier seasons.
Plus, the more flattering politicians have been the Democrats throughout the years. Despite what writers now say about political parties never being mentioned, it's clearly stated in Season One that Palmer was a Democrat. And, later in Season Four, Heller (with his liberal son clearly being opposite of him) was Republican working under Heller and Logan.
Palmer's administration was the more glorified, West Wing type, with him being a noble idealist put in tough positions, and eventually caving to the pressure. But, when Keeler took over, CTU and the government in general were portrayed as inept. And then when Logan, Keeler's VP, took over, they were all out corrupt. In Season Six, Fake Palmer brought back some of that idealism, but was also kind of inept.
Torture is commonly used and successful, but I think that's always balanced with 24's portrayal of corporate greed (usually oil barons or defense contractors) as a common villain, using both terrorists and the government to make everyone's lives miserable.
The idea of fear of terrorists vs fear of our own government policing strategy has been a central theme throughout all of the seasons. And 24 never really takes any side, except maybe to say that it's all bad. In the end, the individual, Jack Bauer, has been the only one we can trust. He was a Palmer voter, but regardless of who was in charge, he's just working to save the country one day at a time so it can sort itself out.

EDIT: Oh, and not to derail the thread, if they find a really great reason to bring Tony back, that's fine with me. I heard what they're doing this season and overall, the premise sounds like a good idea. But, Tony's death has to be explained either by him conspiring with the men who killed his wife (HUH?), or Tony being immediately revived due to some sort of value he had (which would mean his death was anticipated in some way, as Jack's was in Season 4). Jack seemed pretty convinced Tony was dead when he killed Henderson.

I declare this to be your dumbest post today.
Really?
How about explaining that?
I mean, I agree, I say some really stupid shit at times, but how is THIS time worse then the others?
We have, pretty much, every single republican politician there is invoking '9/11' in speeches on a weekly basis. They just can't stop with it. Rudy Giuliani has been quoted as saying that he wakes up every day and sees it as another potential September 11th. Our government has even made that ridiculous color chart telling us the 'threat level' of us getting attacked again and newspapers across the country have it displayed to scare us into thinking we will. Have you ever seen it down at Green? No, it's always at Elevated or Guarded.
Everywhere you look these days, we are warned that we're gonna get attacked again. I don't see how this is helping anyone except the people we have in office.

Seriously, how is THIS a dumb post?
Well, mostly it's got nothing to do with 24. But please, by all means, feel free to keep shoehorning away with your opinions about the Republicans because that will NEVER get old.
EDIT: Also, I should have said this back when I had to edit post #1, but learn to use the spoiler tags when you're posting spoilers. (This goes to a few other people who posted in this thread)
Did Nina ever get offed on the show? Maybe she'll be the next to come back!

Remember season 3 (I think) when Tony got SHOT IN THE NECK and was back running CTU like 45 minutes later? This latest return isn't even his most impressive comeback.

It's also the favorite program of noted Republicans Bill Clinton and Barbra Streisand!
