I can see bitching about last night's lack of build, but given that, until last week, the probable plan was for the Kennedy reveal, it's unfair to say that they wasted weeks of build-up on a total comedy angle. Their hands were kinda tied with this one. And either a)blowing it off with a punchline or b)using a comedy angle to put off a more serious one for when Kennedy returns is a better option than just shoving someone credible in there and hoping for the best.
To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires, and lights, in a box.-Edward R. Murrow
There still seems to be some confusion as to who was suspended. But I guess we can for sure say Kennedy, Umaga, Chavo, and Morrison? They are the only ones that I can recall being written out.

And Booker, Regal, and Charlie Haas. There's three more from the initial ten - most likely Funaki, Edge, and Helms (which for the last two doesn't matter all that much since they're out with injuries anyway).
I haven't read Dave's latest WO yet, so I'm not sure what happened to the other two McDevitt said were coming on Nancy Grace.
Chris Masters has been conspicuous by his absence for the past two weeks' worth of SmackDown.

Originally posted by kentishI forgot about Regal. Did they address Haas, or did we just get Shelton with his solo music? Booker just hasn't been mentioned since 'Slam, right?
Seems like you haven't been watching. King Booker was last seen at the RAW in Boston after Summerslam, when he was DQ'd for Randy Orton's interference. Randy then kicked John Cena Sr. in the head. If that was King Booker's last WWE appearance, at least I'm glad I was there live for it.
I believe Shelton came out to his solo music when he took on Triple H last night. The commentary mostly centered on how Shelton beat Triple H twice a few years back. If they mentioned Haas, I didn't catch it.
Originally posted by kentishSantino was great once again, and I wonder if his knock of Stone Cold was scripted. If I was in hot water with the company, I'm not sure I would go the route of pissing off the biggest draw of the last 15 years.
Wait - were you actually serious here? You're seriously asking if a plug for "The Condemned" on DVD was SCRIPTED or not? Seriously?
About the only thing that works with this for me is that it follows continuity (always a plus) in that Hornswaggle's original name was "Little Bastard"
(mind you, Kennedy getting suspended meant that they had to audible, so it's hard to criticize and they have plenty of room for a "Hunter swapped the test results" swerve later on.)
Kofi Kingston has never done anything for me. I either turn the channel when he shows up, zone out, multi task, take the dog out or something like that. I honestly can't think of one memorable Kofi moment.
