PWInsider has reported a rumour that one top talent from Raw has given notice, though nobody is named. I remember reading somewhere that Booker wasn't that thrilled going to RAW and had some heat on him because he booked TNA talent for his local shows and radio gig. Maybe that combined with him being on that list made him hand in his notice?

Booker is probably also pissed his promotion got passed over for a developmental deal in favor of one run by Steve Keirn in FL, which JUST got air conditioning installed in August, because Johnny Ace likes to go check it out & then party in Tampa.

Well, The wife and I wanted something to watch during dinner, and her CSI is on reruns, so I actually caught RAW for the first time in probably about 2 years.

The landscape is really pretty familiar.

Jeff vs Umaga reminded me of Jeff vs Undertaker except 1/4 as awesome. It reminded me that Jeff can put on a great match when he wants to, I just don't think he wants to if a few spots will suffice. As an aside, did Jeff gain about 20-30lbs in the past 2 or 3 years?

When will Beth Phoenix start wrestling men? Isn't there some OVW clip of her doing a fireman's carry with two guys or something of the sort? She's basically playing the same role that Jazz played (maybe with a little molly holly thrown in), but I hated Jazz with a passion, and I don't mind Beth at all, at least not yet. I don't see any real Trish Stratus type to play against her Jazz though. Most of the other divas are pretty interchangeable. Gigantic fake breasts on twig frames across the board. These are supposed to be athletes?

I remember when spanky debued on smackdown several years ago, and they made a big deal about him being trained by shawn micheals. I just didn't see it. Last night, I don't think it could have been more obvious. I swear it could have been 1988 and you could have told me that was shawn and marty in the ring with new hairdos, I'd have believed you. I don't know that either kendrik or london will ever become a shawn micheals, but I could watch them tag for a good number of years.

On the flipside of that coin, I really gotta wonder whose bad side Shelton benjamin got on. Wasn't this the guy that 2 or 3 years ago was having ***1/2+ matches on free TV with HHH and pulling out amazing MITB matches at WM? Now he's got ugly hair and is jobbing as part of a tag team? He came in only what, maybe 6 months behind Cena, with a ton more talent, and look at the two of them now. I guess mic skills really are that important... We had to wait 20 years for he-who-shall-not-be-named to become world champ despite having no mic skills, I guess shelton is gonna have to pay a lot more dues for not being interesting in interviews.

Is Trips supposed to be a good guy or a bad guy? I can't tell. I missed 99% of his DX run, so I only saw him try and play a face circa early/mid 2002, where he couldn't pull it off for anything. Maybe he's trying to play a face and just can't swing it. Can he only play a face if Shawn is there?

I could think of nobody better than Mr Kennedy to be the bastard son of Vince McMahon, so of course he isn't. When we heard the clue at the end, the only two people that immediatly came to mind are Ray Mysterio and (forgive me, I'm a bad bad man) Owen Hart. I'd say you could make a case for shawn micheals (he does do that "looking up" pose a lot), but isn't shawn only like 10 or 15 years vince's jr?

Choosing an established star (HBK, Austin, HHH) to be Vince's son is not a smart move, and could taint that person's career. We have seen some of the older stars parents on TV before anyway, not that they care about continuity.

It needs to be someone we know little about, who could benefit from the exposure. That's why Kennedy was such a great choice. Now, anything else will smack of desperation.

I thought RAW was good. Most of the matches were good. I really liked the tag match and Cade and Murdoch are great on commentary. Marrella was awesome again.
The main event things though while not bad weren't good either. Cena beating the shit out of Regal was god awful writing. Why did Cena beat up Regal? Couldn't Regal have been a smartass to deserve the beating? Instead we have Regal acting like an adult and Cena acting like a 12 year old. And sorry but Orton was seriously dull. He is now Destiny with Intensity. Still boring.

Regal rewarded Orton's rearragning of Poppa Cena's face w/ a title shot against John Cena, after Cena refused such a rematch last week on the grounds that Cena already beat Orton.

So, no it wasn't bad writing, and yes, Regal did do something to "provoke" the attack.

-If Cena had given him the title shot right off the bat then his dad wouldn't be "sans head".
-You think Cena would use the match as an opportunity to punish Orton for The Punt.
-How come Cena will give Umaga and Khali and others back to back re-matches but Orton has to "go down to the bottom of the ladder".
-What happened to Cena's "I'll fight anyone anywhere" policy.

The only thing consistent in Cena's behaviour is his random FUing of barely involved parties because Cena had a headache or whatever

If Orton hadn't choked like a serial killer that uses a garrote on his victims, he wouldn't have needed another shot.

Why should he? Orton lost. Cena is under no obligation to give Orton another chance. Cena couldn't have forseen the eventual consequences.

-You think Cena would use the match as an opportunity to punish Orton for The Punt.

I'm sure he will, but why does it need to be for the belt? Make it a non-title grudge match. Why reward Orton for pulling Cena's dad out of the crowd & attacking him? Now, all other wrestlers have to do is blackmail Cena into giving them title shots by threatening to attack his dad.

-How come Cena will give Umaga and Khali and others back to back re-matches but Orton has to "go down to the bottom of the ladder".

I dunno. Maybe he just hates Orton more than other wrestlers.

-What happened to Cena's "I'll fight anyone anywhere" policy.

Maybe he's ready for a new challenger?

Regal giving Orton not only the title shot, but the night off, keeping him away from John Cena's revenge-bent clutches, could be construed as UNFAIR FAVORITISM displayed by the General Manager.

Look I am not against a Orton and Cena rematch. But writing out Regal could have been done better. Mainly it bothers me because by wrestling standards Regal has been fair. If he would have been like Coachman then kicking his ass would make sense.
Also from a practical POV why does Orton deserve a title shot? We know Orton won't win but if it was a non title grudge match then Orton probably would win then the third match would be a bigger blow off match. So now either Orton gets killed to end the feud or there will be another BS DQ ending.

Orton's winning the belt.

To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires, and lights, in a box.-Edward R. Murrow

WWE and Randy Orton cannot seem to catch a break - First comes the wellness violations on the eve of the congressional steroid hearings, and now the newest weapon in his arsenal (the soccer kick to the head) may come under fire for trivializing concussions in the wake of the new findings that Chris Benoit had suffered (somewhat) severe brain damage from concussive and sub-concussive blows.

It did look kinda silly when she picked up the first guy in the corner then waited for the 2nd guy to climb himself on top of the pile, but holy shit she sure did FU 2 guys at once didnt she. That is impressive.

Also, is it me or does she look way smaller now than she looked in the video?

I think they were going for the illusion that she hit Guy #2 in the nuts and he "fell" on the other guy. Either way, wow.

That's basically it, the idea that the other guy was rammed into the guts or nuts of the seated guy. There's a clip on Youtube of her doing that move with two women where it runs much smoother.

One more "holy crap that chick's scary" bit...I assume this is a vigniette from OVW or something like that...
