Originally posted by redsoxnationBut what happens when subpoenas from Congressional Committees start flying around? If, by some fluke, someone is competent on the committee, they just have to go with this line of questioning throughout their 5 minutes allotted time: To Wrestler X: Have you used steroids? Follow-up: Have you used Human Growth Hormones? If yes, has Vincent Kennedy McMahon or anyone in a position of authority within the company encouraged you to use these substances?
After watching segments from the odd Congressional Committee in the past (Bush's folks, McGuire, etc) I have a VERY strong feeling most answers will consist of some form of "I have no recollection of ordering any of those" over and over.
No one's going to risk getting black-balled from the best money-making wrestling company in the world. Even people who will probably be fired in the next little while could always be re-hired a few months later.
FYI...WWE posted a BIG spoiler for ECW on Tuesday. Apparently they taped the show today instead of Tuesday (are they going across the ocean?). Don't look at the site unless you want to ruin the BIG surprise ending.
This move makes me that much more interested in RAW this Monday.
Originally posted by JustinShapiroI'd guess Vince has probably never told anyone to take steroids. His attitude is entirely reflective in who he hires and who he pushes, which gives guys maximum incentive to take stuff: do it and have a shot at a job or don't and have next to no chance; do it and have a better chance of getting noticed and pushed or don't and get made fun of for being small.
I'd say the message is pretty clear to everyone on the roster when they take a look at Vince when he wrestles a big event.

I'd seriously question whether the wording of the Wellness Policy makes Vince subject to it or not.

If I am not mistaken, Vince gets paid a performer salary in addition to his Chairman salary. The pdf of the wellness policy I saw online said that "Talent" gets tested. Of course, Talent is a very nebulous term, so we can't really be sure.
I agree that there's no way Vince would let himself get caught under his own wellness policy. Whether that means that he doesn't get tested or that he's got BALCO-type scientists making untracable steroids is up for debate.
I'm going to reserve judgement until I see the actual list of who's suspended, who's fired, and who's gonna, how did McMahon put it after the Clique celebration? "Eat shit and enjoy the taste of it?" Something like that.
I've seen 14 movies so far this year: Because I Said So - (2*); Borat - (5*); Children Of Men - (4*); Die Hard 4 - (5*); Evan Almighty - (3.5*); Fantastic Four 2 - (4.5*); Hairspray - (5*); Harry Potter 5 - (4*); Knocked Up - (4*); The Last Mimsy - (4*); Mr. Brooks - (4*); Shrek The Third - (3*); Spiderman 3 - (3.5*); Transformers - (2*)

I am almost certain there were reports right around the time of the wellness policy being introduced of Vince removing himself from the active talent list and would no longer be receiving a salary as an active performer (previously he had been receiving two salaries).
