This should be a fun show to look at, if only to see a few familiar faces for the last time before the suspensions kick in. Once again, through the magic of TiVo...

-Teddy Long announces a four-man tournament to take place tonight, with the winner getting Khali at Unforgiven. First match...
-Finlay v. Kane to advance to the finals. It's a PPV rematch. Like many Kane matches these days, this match consists of his ribs getting worked over. Finlay polishes him off with his deadly finisher, the Shillelagh shot.
-MVP & Matt Hardy v. Deuce & Domino for the WWE Tag Team Titles. Match mostly consists of Matt taking on both guys while MVP does nothing on the apron. Matt manages the Twist of Fate, though, which brings in MVP to toss him out and get the pin himself for the titles. Oh goody! It's the Wacky Tag Team Champions That Can't Get Along...AGAIN! I'm not tired of this old cliche at all!
-Vince McMahon runs into Batista to tell him he's suspended for 'roids...er...give his condolences for his PPV loss. He also adds his hopes that Batista's his bastard child. Batista points out that he grew up dirt poor while Vince had LOTS OF MONEY, meaning there'd be an ass-whooping in store if it turns out he's the bastard child.
-Eugene's out with the T-shirt gun, which means he's about to accidentally hit someone with it. Sure enough, Mark Henry comes out to the ring and Eugene accidentally nails him with a T-shirt. You'd think that whole incident with Umaga and Armando would have taught him his lesson. Mizark offers Eugene a hug, but squeezes TOO TIGHT! Afterwards, he goes on about Undertaker. He's not scared, blah, blah, blah. Druid comes out. Nothing we haven't seen during a million other Undertaker return tours.
-Rey Mysterio v. Batista to advance to the finals. Both men abide by the Code of Honor before the match, but throw in a hug to take it up a notch. Good TV match, as they do the big guy v. little guy thing for a while. Finlay runs-in with a chair, but Batista takes it. The ref tries to take it from Batista, but gets shoved down. Batista gets DQ'd and Rey moves on. What an awesome match with a SHITTY finish!
-Vince McMahon and Coach come out to the ring. Coach brings out more women Vince has supposedly slept with. The point of this entire segment is pretty much to establish, "Wow! Vince McMahon sure has LOTS OF SEX!" Seriously, how insecure is this man?
-Masterlock Challenge doesn't happen. Masters attacks Chuck Palumbo while he's in the chair, but Palumbo harnesses the power of BIKERTAKER~! and sends him away. So long, Chris! See you after the suspension!
-Rey Mysterio v. Finlay for a title shot at Unforgiven. Hey, another good match! I must have been a good boy this week! Match ends with Rey giving Finlay a 619 and a springboard roll-up.
-Show ends with Khali coming out and standing face-to-well...you get the idea. Of course, this makes it blatantly obvious that they couldn't even make it through ONE WEEK without deciding to pair up Rey and Khali. I don't know if the first thing I'd want from a guy just coming off a serious injury would be to bump around like a pinball for a lunk like Khali, but that's just me. I guess someone was really desperate for that image that closed out the show.

But still, a couple of really good TV matches will cancel out some of the inherent stupidity (MORE mismatched tag champions?!) of the booking team. Definitely check it this week!

Did this happen to anyone else? Throughout the entire broadcast, there was a transparent "watermark" of the Wendy's logo in the bottom lefthand corner of the screen.

Just a glitch with our local CW network, or subliminal advertising?

I was about to say that the exact same thing happened to me, and that it thus couldn't be a local thing...but then I saw that you live in Worcester. It was probably just us.

I know what you mean. Would it *kill them to have MVP's competitiveness and love of things to brag about overcome his hatred of Matt Hardy? There would be plenty of chances for Porter to act like a dick outside of the match(es). Not to mention you wouldn't bury your now-former tag champs so much by jobbing them out in a glorified handicap match, and you get the bonus of building the storyline, and saving the inevitable 'MVP-gets-alligator-arms-when-Matt-needs-a-tag' spot for an occasion that would be a little less... Russo-rific.

You know, that's the scenario that I was hoping for, too. Especially because when they had Deuce and Domino attack MVP and Hardy a couple weeks ago, it really set the stage for a "hey, who the hell do these two guys think they are" sort of thing with MVP and Hardy.
