I could go on all day about this, but if the Steelers don't manage to rebound from last season, the unnecessary introduction of a mascot will be the least of their worries.

I love how the guy behind him on the right looks embarrassed to be there. A little enthusiasm wouldn't hurt.

We already had an NFL induced mascot like that. I think it was GB Icepack or something like that. I've got a picture I took of it a long time ago sitting at home somewhere. If I can find it, I'll scan and post it.

I know in a couple of years the kid may be thankful, but shouldn't they've gotten his or her face in the picture?

They couldn't just get Stomper out of TNA's prop closet? That would be about as pointless as their real mascot...

Did you mean Packy Packer?

He was around during the horrible kid-themed "NFL Huddles" promotion of the 80's. See, he was a meat packer, hence the white apron and the string of hot dogs he's clutching in one hand.

Ye Gods. (Nowadays, not only is he retired, but so were the "professional" Packer cheerleaders. Now the squads {yes, including the men} from Wisconsin-Green Bay and St. Norbert College split the duties.)

Back on topic...clearly Arachnaman got ahold of the cream and the clear. C'mon, folks, Wildcat Willie had to be available...

Why in the world did the Steelers want the love child of Purdue Pete (images.google.com) and Bill Cowher as their new mascot?

Nice to see the construction worker from "The Village People" has found a steady job.

Busted at closing time in a Houston nightclub for resisting arrest. (Minneapolis Star-Tribune)) Now Houston police say (NFL.com) that AP may get off w/ just a small fine. But just to be safe, looks like he hired Roger Clemens' attorney.
