All stolen from NintendoWiiFanboy.com:

Wii Fit is the next kinetic game targeted to the casual games market. The game comes packaged with yet another Wii peripheral, a mysterious white pad that appears to track your center of gravity, or a big touch pad ... for your feet. Various athletic activities will be packaged in the game, and will provide an estimated BMI to make sure you're keeping in line with your athletic goals.

When Reggie took the stage to try out Wii Fit, he received a less than ideal BMI. He quipped that muscle weighs more than fat -- a comment to which Miyamoto responded, "Good excuse."
---
Along with some video of Super Mario Galaxy in the background and some very nice footage of a family enjoying themselves, we got an announcement we've all been waiting for: the release date for Super Mario Galaxy. November 12th.
---
New. Mario. Kart.

And it's online.

At the Nintendo press conference, Reggie hinted at the possibility of massive online races. "More racers means more fun. How many more? Stay tuned." In addition to online races, Nintendo revealed an official steering wheel accessory, not too different from the ones used by Ubisoft at the system launch. The cleverly named Wii Wheel will come packaged with the upcoming Mario Kart, to be released in the beginning of 2008.
---
December 3rd.

The day that the world will stop as Nintendo releases the megaton of all megatons: Super Smash Bros. Brawl. No new information was revealed, but we're pretty sure that's all you need ... for now.
---
Ducks beware. Described by Reggie as the "first offspring of the Wiimote and the Nunchuk," the light gun accessory will launch later this year for a paltry $20. Games to take advantage of the new accessory is the upcoming Wii-exclusive Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Ghost Squad, and Medal of Honor (which will support up to 32 player multiplayer!). The Zapper looks suspiciously like the PS3's Guncom 3, but considering our somewhat unhealthy love of light gun games, we're okay with that.

Oh my.

Releasing all three of your killer titles in a three to four month period around Christmas is going to cause demand like crazy. I'm really glad I already bought my Wii, 'cause you won't be able to find one this winter.

Oh crap. I was planning on buying a Wii in October, but I might get started looking for one now.

The Zapper thingy might finally make me interested in FPS games -- I'll at least try it out.

Mario Kart and Smash Bros are two must-haves. My girlfriend collects exercise videos, so Wii Fit is another definite for us.

As soon as they come out with a realistic Bushido Blade type of game so I can practice kendo on cartoon samurai, the Wii will officially be the best thing ever.

Hate having to wait so long for Mario, but oh well. Hope it's great.

And no, the Wii will be the best thing ever when they release a Star Wars game where I can fight with a lightsaber.

I'm not a huge Star Wars fan, but that would be an acceptable compromise.

I'm looking forward to WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 on the Wii. The game play is apparently kind of arcadey, which makes me a bit nervous, but the idea of having to actually throw punches and chops, make lifting motions for slams, and actually performing the taunts? That sounds so fun. And the Wii still supports WWE Day of Reckoning 2 (with a mostly up-to-date roster - thanks, internet full of CAWs!) if I want a more serious wrestling game.

Hate to create a seperate thread for other E3 news so on the Xbox 360 front:

New color controllers! Uh huh.

Also a custom Halo system with the 20GB hard drive. No thanks.

They did show off a Messenger add on, that is a keyboard small enough to fit on the controller. If it works without getting in the way of gameplay I'm soooo in.

Super Mario Galaxy can't come soon enough. New screens gallery from Kotaku: http://www.kotaku.com/photogallery/smge3

I think they also mentioned the release date for the new Metroid game being sometime in October..? I can't remember where I saw that though.

I've never played a Fire Emblem game. I know they're FF Tactics type games. Are they any good? Any striking differences in gameplay? How in the world would this incorporate the Wiimote?

I'd suggest we could create a separate thread for E3 DS news but, uh, yeah.

I thought it odd that the NintendoWiiFanboy people seemed awful unimpressed by Nintendo's announcements yesterday. They didn't like the idea of more peripherals (for Wii Fit or Mario Kart), the several-month waits for big games, or the general lack of surprises. I mean, I guess I can see where they're coming from, but we got release dates for two of the most anticipated games for a system that - eight months after its release - you're still lucky to find in a store. Plus the official announcement of the latest installment in a supergreat franchise. I was content.

And I have to agree. Demand seems to have levelled off a bit - I saw Wii consoles at both Superstore and Wal-Mart this week - but it will spike for Metroid, and spike bigtime for Christmas when Mario Galaxy and Smash Bros Brawl come out. If you want to get someone a Wii for Christmas, maybe start shopping now.

Must be where you are, because demand here in Austin is still crazy. Saw some come in at Fry's and they never had time to put them on the shelf. Just sold them to a line of people out of the boxes and this was a mid-day Wednesday not some Sunday ad thing.

Personally I thought they had by far the best news of E3. Great games coming out before Christmas, cool new add-ons. What else do people want?

Meanwhile Microsoft had pretty much nothing but Halo 3 and the keyboard add-on, and Sony was completely worthless. I loved how Sony talked about their awesome exclusive titles and made a huge deal out of Metal Gear, when everyone had just heard Konami say the day before that it's likely it won't end up as an exclusive anyway.

Here in San Diego (from what I've seen) they are still a hot commodity. I got lucky the week of the 4th of July at a local Target. They received 3 Wii's in the morning two were instantly snagged up. The third one was claimed by a 10-11 year old. His mother came over and asked the rep to hold the system for two days. They said they weren't able to hold the system! I bought it right that other customer lost her debate with the rep....the poor kid was crushed. I felt guilty...but once I played bowling and golf I was over the guilt. Games aren't for kids anyways

Count me in as looking forward to the Mario related releases!

Please, Nintendo didn't have the best E3. Yeah, yeah, yeah Mario, Metroid, Smash Brothers, whatever. The light gun looks silly because you hold with two hands but it is too small to hold with two hands. The Mario Kart wheel? Great so there is one game to play it with, that will be worth the money. Maybe if they spent less time making goofy controllers they would have more games that aren't the same thing every single year. I like Mario, I like Zelda, I like Metroid but I'm not buying a system to play four or five games in a year.

Ok so tell me in what possible way Sony or Microsoft had a better presentation, cause at least Nintendo gave us something to look forward too instead of a whole ton of nothin.

So who did? Because from what I can tell, neither Sony nor Microsoft showed anything of interest. Even if Nintendo's presentation was ultimately underwhelming, it still won.

I bet you'll be able to play Mario Kart with a normal Wiimote, and I bet you'll be able to play other driving games with the Wii Wheel. I could be wrong here but I bet I'm not.

Other systems don't have sequels?

And the goofy controllers have made the Wii the hottest game system since, well, possibly ever.

I'm more surprised of the implication that Nintendo pushes yearly sequels like [insert megacorp third-party developer here].

Then again, Nintendo Criticism is the one of the top pastimes of Internet discussion sites despite Nintendo's consistent profitability.

With regards to Wii availability, our Target stores have just recently stopped holding new Wii systems for our circular ads. That does tell me that the Wii is not as hot as before...or so I thought. One night we got in 17 Wii systems and we put them on the shelves. By the time I got there the next night, all 17 were gone. I think they are still in great demand, and meanwhile even after a 100 dollar discount, our PS3 systems were still sitting on the shelf.

Regarding E3, I'm pumped. I was beginning to think Wii would never go online. And now comes Mario Kart, and it's online to boot, and comes with a wheel. There's no better news I could get from any gaming company. None.
