Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is just days away and my local paper just ran a final paragraph contest for their readers. Rules were simple, thanks to JK Rowling we all know that the final word will be "scar", so in 50 words or less - ending with scar - write your own paragraph.
Not easy to wrap up a 7 tome series in just 50 words but knowing the readers & writers that frequent this board, I bet we could come up with quite a few scenarios ourselves. Who knows, someone could get it right....
Here is entry # 1 from the team of Caty Dunk & Daddy Dunk
"Life would have to go on for Harry Potter despite the loss of his best friend Ron during his final battle with Voldemort. A battle that in the end, was decided by the hidden power of love that had been protecting Harry all of his life within his scar."
No fabulous prizes for this contest - sorry - just bought a new house so I am broke.
And please - NO SPOILERS

Actually, I read a story a couple days ago where Rowling says she changed the ending, the final word is no longer scar, but it is in the last few words.

Well, so much for that idea. Just did a google search and sure enough, JKR said in a BBC interview just the other night that SCAR had been the last word for a while but now it is near the end.
Thank you all for playing :)

Yesterday was a big day for comics, with both DC and Marvel seeing major releases. We start with: BLACKEST NIGHT #2: The first issue was no fluke, as this one keeps the creepiness coming.
