Not sure how this plays in 2008 and how it reflects on Edwards, Kerry or how the Democratic party feels about them now. But the McCain veep feel-out might be fuel for Republican opponents?

Is Bob Shrum looking for a job or something? He really grinds a lot of axes here and this story comes off less like one about Edwards or Kerry but more about Bob Shrum.

I could parse a lot of what's here, but here's my quick and personal top 3 - whoops, 4:

...given that I now regard the Iraq invasion as one of the great mistakes in the history of U.S. foreign policy.
Wow, you're the only one who's against the war NOW. Well done.

I, Bob Shrum, KNOW people!

Kerry nonetheless clung to the hope that if his service record was questioned, being a member of the "band of brothers" would be more important to McCain than party ID. But I didn't expect much "straight talk" from him this time around.
Don't mess with the Corps, Bob. That'll land you a world of trouble you don't want to take on.

[Bill] Richardson's prospects were shadowed by alleged womanizing.
Geez, nice (totally unnecessary) shot at Bill Richardson - by all accounts the current "frontrunner" for Veep for the Dems no matter who it shakes out to be.

Ohhhhhh....he's not looking for a job, he's SELLING A BOOK. Well, that explains everything and I'm sorry I even started this post before reading all the way to the end (although that Richardson thing really got to me).

Hey, I bet he wishes Imus were on the air right now!

This is very true.

There doesn't seem to be any "for" to this other than for Shrum. Everybody mentioned pretty much gets a mudball to the eye.

I think it's still an interesting account of the differences between Kerry and Edwards, though the Richardson shot was pretty unneccessary...

His account of Richardson being interested in the veep slot does kinda foreshadow Richardson's interest in it this time around.

For a book titled No Excuses, there were plentiful excuses in that short excerpt. This guys seems like a real piece of work. If he was as good as being "for" his clients as he does being "for" himself, perhaps he would have run more successful campaigns. He's 0-8 in presidential elections.

I worked at a pet store a couple years ago and we had an angry customer leave because after two hours, which included the family spending time with the puppy in the puppy room and them all walking around with the sale girl picking out supplies, the mom...
