Kevin Nash and X-Pac let the WWE booking team know last night they were upset with recent storylines they had been given in recent weeks. The situation got so heated that both men threatened to quit. Stephanie McMahon was not at Raw because she had a personal situation to tend to, and Vince McMahon was not backstage during the argument because he was producing the Steve Austin and Eddie Guerrero skits. This left only Shane McMahon and the booking team to calm the situation. The booking team eventually came to an agreement with the Nash and X-Pac when they let the two help write their segments on Raw last night. Nash seemed to be happy about the truce as he was clearly motivated during his segment last night.

Oh well. Yeah, like they would actually quit anyway.
Bubbles? Oh come on Sharon! I’m Ozzy Osbourne the Prince of Fucking Darkness. Evil, evil, more fucking evil not a boatload of fucking bubbles man.
Even though I hate to be on the NWO's side of anything, I am glad someone stood up and objected to this crappy writing. Something like that is what it is going to take. I just have a hard time believing that in those meetings that they are looking at RAW on paper and thinking, "Yes, this is a good show." JR, and VKM are saying they know things are f'd up and we will fix it. But I don't see it happening. The pessimism in everyone's mind is hard to get out. There were some positives last night, but the execution was totally off. RVD/UT was good, but if you are going to do the Dusty Finish, give RVD a longer celebration and don't have the match restarted and finished in about 20 seconds. The Eddy/Austin deal is a good fued to start, but those segments were horrible. The same thing could have been accomplished faster and backstage. I guess Lawler owns a part of Mugs or something.
January 4th 1999 - The day WCW injected itself with 10 gallons of Liquid Anthrax...AKA...The day Hogan "Defeated" Nash to win the WCW title in front of 40,000.
While I agree that the booking has been craptacular as of late, compare this with Nash's known history.
Nash can book, I've got to give him that. But when he's booking, it's usually his friends and himself that are getting pushed. The nWo segment, from what I've gathered, was very good. And the WWF has to know this.
So what happens next week? “Big Kev, you did such a great job writing that segment last week, you can do it again for tonight's show.” Week after week that occurs, Nash is made to look invaluable to the WWF, and before you know it... he's on the booking committee.
Think about this. While the results were good this time, it's more than likely a thinly veiled political move by Nash to gain more backstage power. Don't tell me that it's unheard of.
“Over the course of history, the kiss of a woman has poisoned a lot of great minds.”
Talk about damned if you do, damned if you don't. Either Steph kills the company or Nash revives it only to plunge it into political hell. What do they do George, what do they do?
I'm a Cruiserweight, how do you lik... OH MY GOD I PUT ON WEIGHT!
as long as the name "russo" never darkens my television again then i will sleep easy. wcw at the end was entertaining because it was so unbelievably shitty but there was always the wwf to switch over to - now there's nothing to fall back on when wwf goes down the toilet. i say the undertaker should have sacrificed stephanie to the higher power when he had the chance
If this is true, then I think Pac and Nash totally showed-up the writers. The nWo segment kicked nine kinds of ass. And as I mentioned on another thread, the fans seem to go bonkers for Nash. Did you hear the pop when he came out? They did a camera sweep of the crowd and so many people stood up and cheered, you would have thought Austin was coming down the ramp. The nWo segment built real TENSION about Booker T, the leadership of the group and its sucky membership. They acknowledged on air how badly the group has done, and how much Show and Pac suck. Then Nash says he will take over, and promises bigger things for the nWo. Then we get the Wolfpac sign. All in all, this may be the segment that turns the nWo angle around. The writers have beat the angle all to shit. I'm glad Nash and X-Pac are going to save it.
YOU WANT A PIECE OF ME!?! - The immortal, chilling words of...The Shockmaster!
Blondie Lazy ruined a perfectly good NWO B-team reunion just to show off his new dye job. Wow, they did the little Wolfpac kiss! All is right with the world!

Nash and X=Pac just pulled an "Austin", which I find funny that everyone is applauding them for doing such a thing while Austin was villified for complaining about his.
There are many things that one may consider dangerous. And though the onslaught of time is constent, few things compare in consistancy. One such thing is the greatest weapon the one could wield. Patience.

I was under the impression that Austin walked out because he was unhappy to be booked "down" to the NWO's level on the card, or was asked to job to Scott Hall. The NWO seemingly stood up not because they were booked to look weak, but because the angles written for them sucked.
Austin walked out, I think, because the booking team wanted him to lay down for Scott Hall at Wrestlemania. That made sense for the time being. There was no way in hell Hogan was winning, and the intention was not to make the NWO look completely weak, but the crowd gave them an out to turn Hogan face, and so it didn't look as bad.
In retrospect, however, Austin couldn't have been more right to do what he did, and if he'd agreed to it, Judgment Day would have been his first PPV without a loss since No Mercy. (Which is why I don't get the complaints about Austin never jobbing, despite the fact he usually doesn't do it cleanly.)
CRZ NOTABLE QUOTABLE OF THE MONTH: KANE: Triple H...tonight, I will burn the flesh from your body! MICHAEL COLE: OH MY GOD. KANE THREATENING TRIPLE H, SAYING HE'S GONNA BURN THE FLESH FROM HIS BODY! CRZ: Umm, I heard it the FIRST time! -- WWF Smackdown, 9/9/99
But, if Austin walked out to keep from jobbing to Hall, then why would he walk out after the match. I mean, he's already not-jobbed, so why bother with the walk out?
It's gotta be because of the de-push (which they did anyways at the last PPV).
I'm not convinced about the argument that the Toronto fans at WrestleMania literally turned Hollywood Hulk Hogan face.
I think that was planned from the beginning, duh. Sometimes the fans' reaction to a wrestler will change the company's long-term plans for that wrestler. (For example, Steve Austin used to not even have a T-shirt, while 20-plus pieces of merchandise were planned for Mark Henry and Aldo Montoya).
The fans' reaction can change long-term plans, but the reaction they gave Hogan in one match certainly wouldn't have justified changing Hogan face on the fly. That ending was planned, and the fans' reaction was calculated.
Texas Kelly:
I agree, Austin has actually been the best out of the Big Three (Austin/HHH/Rock) about elevating talent. That's one reason to be optimistic about the Guerrero feud (although I don't think Austin will elevate him-- hopefully he will, knock on wood).
Austin does job-- rarely cleanly, though-- and HHH does not job. When he does, it's to someone like Hogan-- never to elevate anyone. I daresay that outside of Kurt Angle, Triple H has never jobbed to anyone for the purpose of giving that person a rub. Prove me wrong, if you can.
I think one of the key problems with the WWF is this: Faces tend to always win, unless the heel cheats. (Unless the said heel is Triple H-- once again, go figure). I can't remember the last time The Rock did a completely clean job at a PPV to someone who needed the rub.
Yeah, it's great for Chris Jericho to be able to say, “I beat The Rock x number of times!” But it means less when everyone knows that he won only through heel shenanigans. In other words, Jericho isn't actually put “over” The Rock, or made to look like the better wrestler-- even though he is, in my opinion. Everyone knows that the only reason Jericho won is because he cheated, and no amount of bragging by Jericho will change that.
In other words, heels lack credibility in today's wrestling world. And even faces tend to exaggerate a little bit.
Hulk Hogan: I took seven hundred pounds of Andre the Giant, God bless his soul brother, and slammed him down to the mat.
You bet'cha. LOL... But that comment's always been with Hogan's tongue planted firmly in cheek, so I don't mind it all that much.
“Over the course of history, the kiss of a woman has poisoned a lot of great minds.”
if everyone who was being booked in crappy angles right now walked out, we'd be watching about 4 wrestlers every week.
the point that is pissing people off is that nash and x pac complained and got their scenes re-written. if say, booker went to shane and complained about his stupid heel turn then nothing would have come of it. (by the way i think that nash and x pac had a valid point as the n.w.old has been sucking a shit recently)
The women's title match was pretty much an unprecedented portrayal of women's wrestling in WWE. Including Paige/Emma on the last show, including Lita and Trish main eventing Raw.
