TONITE: WWE.com has John Cena taking on Randy Orton in a one-on-one match. Also, leading off the show will be an announcement regarding the main event of Judgement Day!.

-WWE Open.

-J.R welcomes us to RAW from Penn State University. Coach is already in the ring, and he brings out ECW World Champ Vince McMahon. Vince says in his life, he’d never seen anything like he saw last week, in reference to the Great Khali taking out four people. Vince then shows us video footage to prove to us he’s not lying, apparently. Vince is about to announce the main event for the PPV when HBK interrupts, literally. HBK says he was going to beat Cena last week to become the #1 contender. Michaels takes exception to Vince saying that HBK wants him to “make” him a #1 contender. Michaels wants to earn it. HBK wants to face the Great Khali tonight. Vince makes the match, but its no-DQ. The winner faces Cena at Judgement Day.

Vince changes gears and noted that everyone is talking about him as ECW Champ. Before he gets too far, Lashley comes out. Lashley says Vince gave Shawn what he wanted, now he wants Vince to give him what he wants (I hope that made sense). Vince reminds him that he can’t touch Vince, Shane or Umaga. McMahon tries to goad Lashley into hitting him. Vince plays the Backlash footage of Lashley losing. Vince does PBP from the ring for the video and even works in a “forgetaboutit!” Vince is quite intimidating in the skull-cap. Vince gives Lashley a sneak peek at the collector’s edition of WWE Magazine, going on sale Tuesday, that has all three champs on the cover. Lashley has the title in the original photo, but Vince photoshops his head on Lashley’s body (because Vince is champ, ya know). Vince even brings up the grapefruits. At Judgement Day, Vince decrees Lashley vs. Vince McMahon, Umaga and Shane. Lashley has a blank look on his face upon that announcement. Lashley wants to let Vince know what he really thinks about it. But he can’t put his hands on him, so Vince begs Lashley to send him a message. Vince exits the ring and Coach stays back to talk trash. He’s going to regret that.......right now. Lashley clotheslines Coach and hammers away with right hands. Did JR say “piston-like right hands”? Coach goes head-first into the steps at ringside. He proceeds to choke Coach with the mic cord. Vince holds up his title and takes a big gulp at the top of the ramp. Couldn’t they have done this on ECW tomorrow night?

-Tonight, John Cena faces Randy Orton, non-title I assume.

-Backstage, Mickie James enters the women’s locker room, where Candice Michelle is applying her top. Their tag match is next.

[Break]

(1) Mickie James and Candice Michelle vs. Victoria and Melina
I somehow deleted this and the next match when I originally wrote it up. So, going from memory, this was an okay match that went under three minutes, with Candice pinning Melina following what I’ll generously call a spinning heel kick.

Winners: Mickie James and Candice Michelle by pinfall, under 3:00

-Three Weeks ago, Santino Marella won the IC Title. His first title defense is next!

[Break]

(2)- Santino Marella vs. Chris Masters, IC Title
Masters gets no entrance. Again, I don’t have the original notes for this one. I don’t remember Masters being all that big, but he towers over Marella. I had no idea he was that short. The match was not good thanks to Masters, as he leaned into a neck-breaker then slowly jogged into the corner but missed a charge, gently hitting his shoulder against the ringpost. Marella rolls him up for the pin.

Winner: Marella by pinfall at about 3:30

[Break]

-Mr. Kennedy enters and he gets the mic-drop at the top of the ramp-way. 328 days ‘til WrestleMania 24, in case you were wondering.

-Maria is backstage with Randy Orton. His life and career get back on track tonight.

[Break]

-Oops, a technical problem with The Condemned video. Maybe its an omen.

(3)- The Highlanders vs. Umaga, handicap match
Squash. Umaga splashes them (set up in the 69 position) for the pin.

Winner: Umaga by pinfall at 1:26

-Now we get the Condemned video.

-Great Khali is coming to the ring next!

[Break]

-Backstage, Edge comes upon Mr. Kennedy. Edge is not happy about Kennedy coming on his show talking about the MITB shot. Edge wants a shot for the briefcase and Kennedy grants him. What’s in it for Kennedy?

(4) Shawn Michaels vs. Great Khali, #1 Contender Match
Michaels attacks before the bell and ties Khali in the ropes. Michaels attacks but Khali gets out at gives a big boot to Michaels. Khali misses a leg-drop and HBK gets a chair. He rails Khali in the head with it. Flying jalapeno with Khali sitting on the mat. He hits the elbow off the top rope. HBK tries a superkick, but Khali grabs the foot and throws him to the ground. Khali uses the boot to choke Michaels in the corner. Big back elbow by Khali in the corner. Chop in the corner, Michaels does the oversell of the whip into the corner, then gets clothesline. It’s pretty bad when the replay is of a clothesline. Khali has the double-handed choke by HBK starts thumbing Khali in the eye. Michaels tries to get Khali over the top and does, to the outside. Khali tosses HBK into the ring. Michaels is up and hits a baseball slide on Khali. He starts re-decorating the announce table. Michaels stands on a chair and tries to suplex Khali over. Khali tosses Michaels off and onto the mats on the outside. Double-handed chokeslam by Khali to HBK through the announce table. Audible “holy shit” chant from the crowd. Ref calls for the bell.

Winner: Khali by referee stoppage at exactly 6:00
Well, at least it wasn’t a clean pin over HBK, not that it would hurt him much probably.

-Tonight, Cena faces Orton.

[Break]

-Moments ago, we get video footage of what happened to HBK.

-Todd Grisham is backstage with John Cena. Cena does schtick making fun of Grisham. Cena asks Grisham what he would feel like if he had to fight a 7'5" monster. He says Randy picked the wrong guy to turn his career around against. Not his best work.

-Cryme Tyme is backstage. Its been so long since they’ve been on TV, they have to re-introduce themselves. They’re having a mother’s day sale, apparently. One of their items is steak. Then we go to Viscera sitting down to dinner, but he finds that his steak is missing. The next item they have are prescription pills. Elsewhere, Eugene is going crazy; those must’ve been the pills that keep him sane (or semi-sane). The third item is a brand new hummer (the vehicle). Ron Simmons is in the parking lot going to his spot, when he finds his auto missing. That’s a “Damn!” moment. Some fat guy comes onto the scene in a Spiderman outfit. With the mask, we can’t tell who, but his belly reveals all. Shad takes a bat and beats down Big Dick Spiderman. I don’t know where to begin with that segment.

[Break]

(5) The Hardy Boyz vs. The World’s Greatest Tag Team
Cade and Murdoch are on commentary again. Benjamin gets elbowed down as JR announces that Kennedy faces Edge tonight for the MITB. Hardy goes to the top and Haas pulls his arm to pull him down. Single-arm DDT by Benjamin, who is still the legal man. Haas is in and he gets a nice suplex with the arm hooked. Left arm is worked on by both WGTT members. Benjamin tries a bodyslam but Matt sneaks out and gets a tag. Haas is in too, and Jeff goes to work. Suplex for Haas and then face-first suplex on top of Haas for Benjamin. Jeff barely grazes Haas with a Whisper in the Wind. Matt is in and hits the Twist of Fate on Benjamin. Jeff goes to the top but Haas headbutts him and meets him up there. Matt brings Haas down with a suplex then Jeff hits the Swan-ton for the win.

Winners: The Hardy Boyz by pinfall, 3:42
Cade and Murdoch enter the ring and shake the hands of the Hardyz. You could see that coming because The King kept saying the heels were going to attack.

-Last Monday, Carlito went after Ric Flair during their match. Carlito is walking swiftly backstage, too fast for Torrie to catch up. We’re gonna hear from him next!

[Break]

-We get a vignette for Snitsky. Is the ECW experiment with him over already?

-Carlito and Torrie Wilson make their way to the ring. Carlito blames Flair for ruining his flawless record. He also thinks he should be WWE Champion. He wants Flair to come out so he can show Flair all the passion he has. Ewww. Flair is apparently in Vegas, not there, but Carlito sees it as a sign of weakness. He wants to get rid of all the garbage in his life, starting with Torrie. He backs her into a corner, speaking in a foreign tongue. Torrie pushes him out of the way and heads to the back in tears. He ends his rant by slamming the mic onto the mat.

-Tonight, John Cena faces Randy Orton. Next, Edge faces Mr. Kennedy with MITB on the line!

[Break]

(6) Mr. Kennedy vs. Edge
Edge assaults Kennedy on his way to the ring. Edge shoves Kennedy into the ring post, after throwing him into the security wall. Edge nails Kennedy with a TV monitor. Kennedy is out cold as Edge rolls him into the ring. Referee Chad Patton is checking on Kennedy (and keeping Edge back) before he starts the match. Kennedy wants the match started and Edge immediately hits the spear for the win.

Winner: Edge by pinfall at :07
Is Kennedy THAT injured? He’s got a year to use that contract. Edge hits Kennedy twice with the briefcase.

-Cena/Orton is next!

[Break]

-We get highlights of HBK/Khali from earlier tonight.

(7) Randy Orton vs. John Cena
Cena goes for a quick roll-up for two. Lock-up into another roll-up. Orton lays in the right hands. Irish whip by Cena, and he hits his fisherman suplex for two. Cena misses a charge into the corner and runs-shoulder first into the post. Orton hammers away and Garvin stomps Cena. Knee-drop followed by a pin for just two. Rear-chinlock applied by Orton. Does the crowd at home that doesn’t use the internet for info understand why Orton wants to get his life on track? Cena gets out and hits his moves that include the shoulder block and variations of suplexes. Cena hits the fist-drop as Great Khali comes out. Cena has Orton up for the FU by Khali grabs the title. Orton attacks from behind. Drop-toe hold by Cena into the STFU. Orton got the ropes and Cena goes after Khali. Khali “nails” Cena with the title.

Winner: No Contest at 4:20

That’s it. Seriously.

Is Kennedy injured? This is the first I'm hearing of it. And if he isn't, was he caught fucking Linda and Steph by Vince and Hunter? Losing to Matt Hardy Friday, now getting the MITB taken from him in the dumbest way possible (he's been shown as a sneaky little prick several times, but he decides to go into a match where he's got everything to lose and NOTHING to gain, against a guy who's a big enough prick to pull........well, what he wound up pulling tonight to win........WTF?)........Ken better have some life-threatening disease that'll take him most of the year to kick, otherwise, tonight, they just shot him in the head character-wise.

He could still be ready for WM next year, unless they plan on having him win it back from Edge when he returns.

Edge with the Money in the Bank leaves the door wide open for him to show tomorrow night and spear Undertaker or Batista to win the World Title. With Undertaker and Kennedy out for months, Smackdown's roster is severely weakened. Edge coming in would be a shot in the arm. He's a certified main eventer and the only main event heel in the company not named McMahon. Batista can chase him for the big gold belt while Edge adds a certain newness to the show as he hasn't been on the Smackdown roster for five years.

Crap show tonight. HBK did the best he could to make the Khali match entertaining. But if Vince McMahon booked the Bible, David would never have beaten Goliath. Cena vs. Khali? I'll be passing on Judgment Day, thanks.

The last 15 minutes, Edge vs. Kennedy and Orton vs. Cena, was like Vince Russo coming into guest book those two segments.

The Cryme Time skit sucked but especially so because of the end. Shad was Batman, hits fat Spidey with a bat. Then they blew the obvious punchline when JTG stole the wallet -- If Shad's Batman then JTG's "Robbin'."

Almost passable Raw. The bad. Too much VKM. Khali sucks. Masters, Highlanders, and a Cryme Tyme skit.
The good. Well, if and I mean IF they have a plan involving Edge moving to SD and then having Kennedy feud with Edgeward after he is better around WM time then I will be happy. Long term plans involving two wrestlers I like would be great. Of course most likely we will have Edge vs. Cena 251. I mean it's not like SD has a major injury they need to take care of.
No important wrestling except maybe HBK getting tabled by Khali.

I was almost ready to start buying into Khali, he looked okay vs HBK, and I figured Cena would be able to drag a fair hardcore match out of him, but then he tapped Cena with the belt shot to end the show and I realized I was fooling myself. I know what they want to do with Khali, and I actually like the idea ... Khali just really sucks bad.

Edge going to Smackdown to fill the void is the right move. If Carlito wasn't feuding with Flair I'd say he should go or if Nitro's woman wasn't tied up in the Woman's Division he could move over, but Edge is a good start.

I like the idea of Edge winning the title through MITB shenanigans again, and joining SmackDown. Making the best of a bad situation given the injuries to Taker and Kennedy.

I love that booking, and if the WWE were smart (insert your own smarky commentary here) they'd jump at it.

The only other thing they can do on Smackdown would be to elevate a midcard heel to main event status. But who is there that's worthy of the push? King Booker (again?) Kane? I just hope its not Mark Henry.

Kennedy coming out 2 weeks in a row was great. Kennedy losing the MITB was a major bummer. One of my favorite guys to watch lately, ever since I finally got CW specifically. But the prospect of Edge jumping over to Smackdown to snatch the title isnt a bad idea, a lot like Kurt did when he went to Raw and then jumped back to Smackdown.

It was a real FFWD heavy show tonight.

They could really turn a short-term lemon into long-term lemonade with the Kennedy thing. If Edge jumps to SmackDown and wins the world title, he can be the guy that Kennedy beats for his first reign at next year's WrestleMania. If they have Kennedy return, win the Rumble, and go on to face Edge in the ME, you've got an almost year-long storyline there.

To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires, and lights, in a box.-Edward R. Murrow

I agree 100% ... this is the perfect opportunity to pull the trigger on the Kennedy face turn (and you know it was bound to happen sooner or later) ... plus we get a fresh new feud in Edge vs. Kennedy, not to mention the potential for Edge to move to Smackdown.

Edge to Smackdown only makes a ton of sense, especially since he has feuded with everyone on Raw and I can't think of anyone new who would be interesting. So of course what will happen is Mark Henry will come down and rip the cage door off and distract Taker, Batista wins, and then gets promptly destroyed by Henry making us all fall asleep. The Khali/Cena feud really sucks because HBK/Orton/Edge are just left on the outside of ANY feud looking stupid because they get their asses handed to them anytime they interject themselves into anything. Just like when they had the tag titles on Cena/HBK and all the Raw tag teams had absolutely nothing to do because they were all to low in the pecking order to beat a team which hated each other. WWE booking.........makes head......HURT!?!?!

Immediately, the show felt constantly teetering on collapse. But the fact that they kept it afloat by willpower is a credit to everyone. Vince had to carry the scene with Lashley by himself as the latter was deadweight. JR and Lawler stumbled out of the gate as well. Eventually, the show picked up steam and became, I thought, an interesting collage of angles. I was hooked for the show and enjoyed it, except for the very rushed last matches. Edge/Kennedy and especially Orton/Cena were blips.

Action? Not so good? Juggling? Impressive.

Someone was asleep at the time management wheel last night.

I still think Batista wins tonight, it makes sense for him not to job to a guy going on the DL for 6 months. Although, I won't be surprised if Edge makes the jump and cashes in.

It would have been an interesting scenario if Edge had not lost at WM this year to have him cash in against Taker and win the belt, then they could have had an undefeated at WM match at WM 24. But the automatic feud with a face KK when he returns seems logical. But given Edge's history of short reigns, that may be unlikely.

If they go with Edge as SD! champ, Matt getting the win over KK last week might justify a revival of their feud.

I was just thinking that. Furthermore, you know what could be fun? If they do an Edge vs. Matt revival, I'd like to see Ashley come back all whored up as a heel and hang off of Edge as his new girlfriend. Play up that Matt's chicks keep swinging over to Edge. Besides, Ashley's whole tough punk girl chick persona has zero credibility and she has even less so as a pro wrestler. A heel Ashley slutting it up would work for me.

But we're veering deep into fantasy booking waters now. Sorry, sorry!

Translation taken from another board:

He first told Torrie basically that she's a blond worthless tramp who does him no good and has no purpose or worth, and when she left he said "go, leave, I don't need you for anything anyway. You're nothing"

Then he told the crowd "I'm the best guy in this company and all of you people know it. Everyone knows the top guy in the company is Carlito" thats when he slammed the Mic.
