- I like Sun, but she's smarter than that. She shouldn't have fallen for a Jullite trick at the end.
- I'm not sure how I feel about Mikali still being alive, but Jin whooping up on him was fun. The most amazing thing about him showing up is that Hurley and Charlie were aware of him because *gasp* Sayid and Kate actually mentioned him at camp.
- Also how can you not love one of the biggest holyshit moments in a long time to close out the show. This really changes everything.
- Next week it looks like we get a Sawyer vs Sawyer showdown. Business is picking up.

As Jin was chasing him down, I was like, "Finally, Jin gets to whoop some ass!" I was wondering, with Mikhail didn't look at Desmond and say, "Who the heck are you? You weren't on the plane..." I was also thinking that Mikhail was full of shit when he translated the wounded girl's words and told them she said, "Thank you."

She was emotionally out of it. She just saw her baby, learned that she has 2 months to live, and that Jin is indeed the father. It's understandable that she might not have been in tip-top mental shape.
Big "HOLY SHIT!" moment to close out the episode, but the producers have said the Losties aren't dead & aren't in purgatory, so there's probably a logical explanation for that reveal (Dharma owning Oceanic Air and staging a fake crash site?)

Bingo! Get this man a cigar. They aren't dead, but I think the crash site was faked so that the Others could experiment on the LOSTies to their hearts' content without having to worry about a search party interrupting their fun.
Amongst other theories: holy shit, where to begin? Did we see that Mikhail is invincible? Are all of the Others invincible? Was that a Mikhail clone? If either of the above is true, that might explain the infertility issues. They can live on in perpetuity, but they can't reproduce. You might call it a Catch-22.
Or better yet, maybe Locke and Mikhail worked out some trickeration to fool Sayid and Kate into thinking the fence kills people. This, of course, implies that Locke is in cahoots with the Others. Oh man, the possibilities!

It wasn't as big a 'trick' I was expecting. I was going 'oh crap, oh crap...' when Sun was waiting outside, but all Juliet did was make a tape. And at least we found out that she seems to be serious about her anti-Ben feelings and it wasn't just a clever ruse to fool Jack.
WORD to BigDaddyLoco on the fact that Charlie and company actually knew about Mikhail due to camp chatter. I thought we were in for an episode of him pretending to be with the search party and fooling the foursome until he slipped up in some way. And I'm on Charlie's side with this one...why not kill Mikhail or at least capture him? Damn trustworthy Desmond.
What a great ending. There were lots of 'the crash was faked' theories in season one, but those abated after we actually saw the tail section crash in that all-Tailies episode last season, and we saw the plane break apart in this season's premiere. But now what? Hopefully this chick lives for a while so we can get a better view of the outside world.

We know that Claire had some sort of remote activated implant that made her sick. We also know there's a poison on the island that can cause people to temporary suffer a death-like paralysis. I wouldn't be surprised if we find out that the sonic fence triggered something inside Mikhail that allowed him to fake his death, wait 8 hours, and then walk away. (This would also explain why it was so easy for everyone to climb over the sonic fence.)
I kept waiting for the big trick-ending to be Sun walking in on Juliet making her plans, and then Juliet having to improvise for the rest of the season a la Ethan. The trick ending we did get is much more interesting.
You know the writers have an endgame in mind now that two of the main characters have been given death notices. That said, two months could easily be dragged out for two or three seasons, so there's no reason to fear for Sun quite yet.
Hooray for the baby being Jin's!
You believe me, don't you? Please believe what I just said...
Does anyone think that Juliet could just be telling Sun that her baby was conceived on the island, when it actually wasn't? If everyone thinks Jin is the dad, and Sun and the baby survive, Juliet's chance of getting off of the island increase quite a bit...
Maybe Juliet is lying to Sun and Ben about Jin being the father to get off the island. That is an interesting idea.
I love the dilemma that Sun had regarding the baby's father: If it's Jin's, she dies, but for her to live, it has to be the other guy's.
However, I didn't really buy into the reasons behind Sun having to pay off Jin's hooker mama. I understand that it is supposed to be to save his "honor", but how honorable is it to be too weak to handle the truth about your own birth? Did she really need to go to all of that trouble?
That was the best ending of the season! But I agree that it will be easily explained that Dharma arranged the fake wreckage.
Dean! Have you been shooting dope into your scrotum? You can tell me! I'm hip!

Lived in Korea for a year back in the 70s - parents are VERY important and it might crush Jin to know the truth about Oma - but let's explore the "Jin's Momma was a prostitute" thing for a minute.
In Korea, most prostitutes are for American GIs - in the town where I worked, in 1976, we had 5200 registered prostitutes, plus many un-registered ones. Jin's what, late 20's? 30? He's kind of tall and kind of light colored for most Koreans. Who is on the show or has a Dad or brother or someone in the military in the late 70s or early 80s that could be Jin's real daddy?

So we know that the island heals the sick - Locke's legs, Rose's Cancer and now apparently Mikhail too. I guess he wasn't dead after Locke pushed him through the sonic fence and blood spurted from his ears. Naomi will be better in a day to a day & a half according to Mikhail because things are different onthe island.
Which brings up the question, how injured do you have to be for the island not to be able to save a person ? Boone got crushed. Eko got beaten. Ethan, Shannon, Ana Lucia & Dirty Libby all got shot. Sawyer got shot back in season 2 but his arm/shoulder seemed to heal pretty quickly but then his shot wasn't a kill shot.

Kate's father is military. I hope it wasn't Jack's dad, that's for sure.

Now am I the only person here who's just SHOCKED at how much AWArulz knows about Korean prostitutes?

Heh. Yeah. I was a military policeman at Camp Casey in Tong Du Chon that year. We had to check their VD cards if Momma's sweet baby Private What'shisname wanted to sign old Kim onto the post.

I was thinking the same thing. Nice theory though, AWArulz .

I concur with all of this. A show about a post-apocalyptic world filled with zombies that brings out the worst in the human survivors also, perhaps not coincidentally, brings out some of the worst instincts of many people watching.
